Arturo Vidal

There was never any reason for him to leave. He's been my dream midfield signing since his Leverkusen days, but there's no reason for him to leave Juve, and there wasn't last summer either when the rumours were flying about. Add to that a 7th placed finish and no champions league and it becomes even less likely. I think many people's hope for this lies in the small possibility we might slap the big red wallet down and offer him 300k a week.

Rumour is on this one that Juve may be wiling to sell Vidal to fuel their summer spending. The 2 players they have that they can get a big fee on are between him and Pogba. Pogba they reckon they can hold onto for another year then get a ludicrous sum of money for him between Madrid and PSG. Juve also have a couple of young players coming through in the positions that are looking very good ( buoy etc). Chances are very slim but there is a possibility.

Seems more likely that LVG might be bringing Strootman in (connections etc.) However, Vidal represents a whole different level of quality, Strootman being young (and still a good player) might be a tad more of an investment in the future, but could be a gamble, surely. Guess I don't really have any waterproof sources or predictions in this matter, just feel that it will be more likely to see Strootman than Vidal.

Vidal is only a couple of years older...

The reason he'll leave is Pogba imo. Juve will get mega money for Pogba in a few seasons, before that they need to offer him a serious contract. Thats why cashing in on Vidal now becomes a very real option.

Vidal and Kroos would make a amazing partnership for us, I really hope we try for Vidal.

Saw Miguel Delaney linking us to him earlier, if that cheers you up.

Most certainly does man. Anything to keep the semi up :)

Cos he will never play for United.

Ever!

Thats the spirit mate. We need more folk sayin Vidal & his like, will never come to United as a reverse-jinx type of thing. Ronaldo will never come to United even if he wins the Champions League on Saturday night either.. ;)

that's the way it is... the Fergie-Conte pic put to fly the imagination of quite a few.

Now that LvG has been confirmed, we will know for sure if we are for him or not. Of course he will want new players and Vidal might be one of those. After all, he already suffered him in the Bundesliga (cost him the job in a way).

But the reality is that only Barcelona has been linked... Luis Enrique wants him (another one that suffered him in serie A) and it seems Alexis might be involved in that operation. Double fecking us.

but hey... money talks. who knows... im of the opinion we where never in for him, but if we are, please...

There was never anything to begin with.

Yeah man, that pic certainly got the tongues wagging. Personally, i thought the tabloid story was gonna be that United were havin 2nd thoughts about LVG & United were approaching Conte via Fergie. Tabloid shite once again.

My own opinion was that Fergie was there to watch the game & Juve / Conte made him their guest of honour type of thing. Then the Italian press proved themselves to be equally as good at rumour-mongering (as England & Spain) with their Vidal to United story.

There could be truth in the story of course, it would be a dream signing for us too, but i just cant believe they would let him leave - he's the best in the world as an CM all-rounder & Pogba can learn so much from him. But maybe money rules the mind with Juve at the moment, and the longer they leave it - the less money they'll get for Vidal if he chooses to leave - same situation as Rossi at Roma etc..

We never know what players LVG wants until hear it from the horses mouth (United) & we've said feck all this window - thank feck, but i'm gettin the impression he's tryin to tap into the dutch market, like he's done in the past. If there's world-class talent there then great, but i just dont see it at the minute. Strootman is a great player, but he's still mending after his knee op in March & then he has his rehab after that, so that could be nightmare if we signed him - another crock like we had with Hargreaves.

We're linked to Robben & then today i read we're linked to Sneijder once again ffs. Thats just quick fixes in my opinion because LVG works with them in the national team. I dont want them here, but would prefer us go for the young world-class talent in their positions - not 30 somethings who fecked us around / over, in the past. To see either in a United shirt would be a real sickener for me (and many of us) towards LVG & thats not the start we need with our new manager!

The man I really want to see in a red shirt.

To be brutally honest with myself though he's prob better off staying where he is, I can see Juve doing an atletico of this season on the CL next season.

Why? What will have changed? They play in a poor Serie A which they will win again next season, but in Europe they have been far from convincing.
Vidal will stay anyway I reckon.

Well, 3 years matter, much might happen in those years. However, that aside, I'd say there is little doubt that Strootman would be, all things considered, easier to bring in than Vidal.

What kind of football fan would be thinking about a pie in the sky transfer instead of watching the CL final?

Juventus are reported to want 50 million for Arturo Vidal, a potential bargain for Manchester United.

Serie A champions Juventus have set a price on Arturo Vidal, report respected Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport.

And the reported 50 million may just entice suitors Manchester United to open their wallets regarding the Chilean international midfielder.

The paper report: "He could change team during the summer. For Juve Vidal is worth €50 million, far more than the 30-35 calculated until a short time ago. This is the figure set."

That works out at a bargain £40.5 million, still a record signing for the Red Devils, but in context less than the amount Arsenal paid for Mesut Ozil.

Given Vidal's almost guaranteed return, it's a deal United can't afford to rule out, and they have the money to make it happen, with figures of between £150 million and £200 million quoted as part of a transfer budget.

United have reportedly ruled out Toni Kroos and Cesc Fabregas, or been knocked back dependent on who you believe, but Vidal is very arguably a superior alternative to either.

They do however face big competition for his signature, with Barcelona believed to hold a serious interest in the box-to-box midfielder, and Real Madrid also supposed admirers.

Vidal struck 18 goals in all competitions for Juventus this season, while his 11 in Serie A was just five short of the 16 scored by United's entire midfield in the Premier League.

He also provided six assists, and registered an average of 4.1 successful tackles per game.

If this is true, I would bid 55 million.

I know they are asking for 50, but I would add 5 to not feck around and get it done.

That being said, this report is probably bullshit.

I would have thought Real & Barcelona would be more interested in Pogba, if we could get him that would be amazing but I'm not sure Van Gaal likes big transfers.

History dictates this won't happen, even if we have signed Mata recently. I'm not going to give this one the time of day.

They want Nani so bad. £15m plus Vidal for Nani please
