Arturo Vidal

You'd think, if Vidal were to be made available, there'll be a line of clubs looking to sign him.

Indeed. Hopefully, we'd make him enough of a priority to hold our own in a bidding war and perhaps Juve's interest in Nani could work in our favor. We'd be fools not to pull out all the stops if he does become available, no one needs him like we need him.

What do ye reckon a realistic valuation of him would be.

If there was any indication at all Juve were willing to part with him I'd happily go north of £40m.

Alas, I just don't see Juve being willing to sell at any price.

Settle? Vidal shits on Kroos and any other midfielder out there. Is perfect for our side.
Yup, he's easily better then kroos. Up there with Yaya toure if toure had his good days more often too, probably the best all around midfielder in the world for me. He'd easily be worth £50m, let alone 36m.

Fergie seen chatting with Conte and suddenly the tabloids knew word for word what they were talking about and decided that Conte made a deal with Fergie that if he gives us Pogba and Vidal then we will give them Young and Cleverley in return while Conte will also be invited to Manchester to go and sample some of Fergies fine wines

Seems legit

Not just with Vidal, but I can see LVG doing an Ace Ventura type interrogation on potential transfers to get them to sign for United. Scratching cutlery on plates, moving his eyeball with his finger!

I like to think he isn't even in contact with the club anymore. He's just said "right, this needs sorting out" and flown around Europe buying players without even consulting anyone.

Even if we "only" got Vidal for our midfield we would be improved immensely. He would be the perfect signing for us. £36m would be an absolute steal.

Currently the best midfielder in the world, obviously there will be dispute but his all-round game is currently better than Iniesta's and Toure's. Although I'd be happy with any one of the three. Anything under £80m is a steal for such an incredible player; in a midfield of Pirlo, Pogba and Marchisio he stands out by a mile and that's saying something.

I'd agree with that, certainly the most complete midfielder around IMO.

This is too cruel.Vidal is the player we need the most out of all of them. We could partner him with literally any of our other midfield targets and it would be fantastic.

36M would be an absolute steal. I would have no problem paying £60M for him.The absolute muppet dream, if we start getting seriously linked to him I won't be able to control myself.

I know that feeling, man. It's gonna be a cruel summer in terms of rumours and speculation :(

Too good to be true. This is the muppetest of all the muppet signings(if that makes any sense) and would be an absolute steal for the quoted price.

The lack of CL football makes its very hard to sign Vidal. He is 27 and has yet to really make a big impact on it. He may be think Im not going to wait at least a year to play again in the CL.

I think we will have to stick to young players who wont be put off as much by the lack of CL.

Anyone worth their salt in charge of this club should want to make a massive statement with one of the summer signings. What a statement this would make.

If we offered big money for him I reckon they would take it as well. He'd probably prefer the spanish two but we should go for it anyway. Imagine if we got him and one of Strootman/Carvalho? add Shaw and Sanchez to that and we would be well set...

/muppetmode

You'd settle for him? Vidal is better and would likely be harder to attain.
Poorly worded on my part but the "settle" was in regards to Strootman not Vidal. As in if we could manage to get Vidal I'd be happy to settle for Strootman if we couldn't also get Kroos.

Sadly I have to agree with this, lack of CL is going to hamper us in the transfer market.

Ah please, please, please, please.... Can we just sign a top midfielder that we've been linked with. Please. I've dreamed of having one or two of Vidal, Gundogan, Kroos, Fabregas, Modric, De Rossi, Pirlo or a host of others in our midfield for the last 5 years. Someone, please just join us and sort out the hole that's been there for all to see for far too long now.

World class midfielder, his game is perfectly suited to this league. Technically good, he influences the game at both ends, fantastic engine and workrate. 35-40 is fair.

Hard to say. He'd almost certainly become embroiled in a tug of war between Madrid, Barcelona, and the petrochemical clubs. I imagine it would end up north of £50m.

Interesting that they are reporting how Pogba is the preferred choice to stay at Juve over Vidal. I would imagine they could get more from Pogba too, even though I don't think he is worth as much in my own opinion.

The value of Pogba will only increase in the next few years whereas Vidals value is at it's peak and will deteriorate as the years go by. It makes financial sense to capitalise on Vidal now and wait for Pogbas value to mature before selling him and buying a replacement.

My dick would be beyond blistered if we signed this chap. On his own would be adequate, alongside Kroos would be immense.

A bit disappointed with Sir Alex, what use has he got for Vidal, especially when we're in dire need of a midfielder. Selfish man.

Surely seating for the UEFA Cup dignitaries were sorted out in advanced by people who wouldn't give a toss if we wanted Vidal or not. Wherever he sat he'd have likely been sat next to a manager/chairman/agent/influential figure from a club who we've been linked with being possibly interested in a player from.

I'm a bit suspicious that because of what is likely to be the result of a coincidental seating arrangement that suddenly #ITKs come up with a 'Vidal to United' story.

I don't think anyone actually reliable has mentioned us going in for him. If he's for sale he's going to Barca or Madrid cruelly I could see City making a bid. Sort of one of their "oh go on then" deals they seem to do like Fernandinho. That seemed like that to me.

Ferguson "26 million plus Nani for the boy Vidal"

Conte "Ehhhh..How u say...Fack off"
