Treffen sich zwei Jäger.There are German jokes?
"They are all from Angola"The following is the translation of the song (it seems):
"Listen, spread the word;
They play in France, but they are all from Angola;
How nice it is! They are going to run;
They are 'cometravas'*, like fecking Mbappé;
Their mom is Nigerian;
Their dad, Cameroonian.
But in the document ..Nationality: French".
*cometravas is a slang term that loosely translates to someone who likes fecking transgender people.
The above is transphobic for sure which makes it quite distasteful. The heat that this video gets should be about this.
But, Racist? Are we sure?
These players have exposure, have colleagues and friends who have roots in Africa and play for Franch/Netherlands/Germany etc. Can we not assume the best in them and think that all this is not coming from a bad place. Is it possible this is healthy banter?
- Could this be more of a mocking of how France poaches players and talents from all over Africa and yet "we" beat them?
- Is the premise of the chant any different from the one used by Trevor Noah for this segment? Did Africa Just Win The World Cup? | The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (youtube.com)
- When USA beat Pakistan in the T20 cricket world cup. Many were joking about how India's H1B team (and not USA) beat Pakistan. Is the Argentina song about the nationality of the player's parents any different?

Amazingly not even the worst in this discussion so far. The one with the terrorist/freedom fighter post is hard to top.
Most of these players have European ancestry, similar to how the French players have African ancestry. This isn't healthy banter, this is racism. Don't defend it.The following is the translation of the song (it seems):

. This is good actually.Treffen sich zwei Jäger.
Hang on. Have I missed something about Martinez and Garnacho?More disciplinary work cut out for INEOS. How do United players feel about Licha/Garnacho after seeing that? Also, did no one think this was a bad idea? Was Messi around when this was being sung?

This response also applies to @adedawson's post. It's really not innocent stuff.Um yes we are sure it's extremely racist. Calling's someone's nationality into question on the basis of their ethnicity is textbook racism - and you are correct that this is not really very different from the cricket example as that is also racist.
This too also @adedawson.Most of these players have European ancestry, similar to how the French players have African ancestry. This isn't healthy banter, this is racism. Don't defend it.
Yes.
That's not a thing and only ever brought up by racists
And the award for stupidest post of the day goes to...
Not even getting into the rest of your post, but that's not how they start. You missed the second line despite quoting it. It's not just about Mbappe. And it's certainly not about his nationality.
I am known for being fecking hilarious.. This is good actually.
Hang on. Have I missed something about Martinez and Garnacho?
feck. I forgot about the kid Yoro.
Seems like half the forum are. Just looking at the Yoro thread.No evidence Martinez and Garnacho were singing that chant. Just Gandalf Greyhame jumping to conclusions.
That's a bit simplistic. No evidence they were singing - but a reasonable suggestion that it sounds like a lot of people were singing and that it's therefore sensible to ask if they were involved as well.No evidence Martinez and Garnacho were singing that chant. They weren’t asking though, they were telling us they were involved.That's a bit simplistic. No evidence they were singing - but a reasonable suggestion that it sounds like a lot of people were singing and that it's therefore sensible to ask if they were involved as well.
Man, how fecking stupid do you have to be to post that publically. I don't ever let anyone post even pictures or videos of my drunk on a night out.

Beide totTreffen sich zwei Jäger.
Many Argentinians have their roots in other countries they just happen to be mostly white countries so it's fine because their families came from Italy, Spain, Germany etc.
Odd you mention this, because this has no relevance to it being racist or not.Given the many comments, I guess I'm wrong. Odd since I'm 2nd generation, mixed.
Buenas noches, mein Führer!Listen up, and spread the word
They play for Argentina but their grandparents were fascists
Who fled the peace in Europe
When accused of being Nazis
Respect the culture
It's just the way they are
Casual racism is lowly kind of bar
Franco, Hitler, Mussolini
They were all much worse by far...
Surely this is banworthy. And should be struck off as a doctor too.Listen up, and spread the word

Quite excited to learn the Spanish word for 'chasers'. Duolingo falls short with stuff like this.

I say guilty until proven innocent is the correct course of action.Investigation of Garnacho and Martinez is the right way, but the previous poster just assumed Garnacho and Martinez were actively singing the chant. Maybe they sang the first chant, but were silent when the racist chant started. We don't know. All we know right now is that the clip is too grainy and blurry and Martinez and Garnacho were either not recognizable or not in that particular clip.
Is it really that Racist? They start by making fun of his sexuality with the trans model, then question how French he really is. Obviously, born and raised in France but is it any different from all the German jokes with all the Austrians and Poles that represent them etc
The most shocking thing here is that this isn't a leaked video - these guys are so embedded in this sort of racism that they're actually live streaming themselves or happily being recorded. That's a deep hole to be in and in another work place its a job ender. Fofana has to work alongside him. What an ugly chant it is

Enzo might want to leave Chelsea and this will precipitate a move
It's 7:05pm in Buenos AiresSouth American footballers need to wake up
totally agree. can’t even be racist or transist nowadays without the snowflakes cancelling you.
