Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Just watched the first two episodes of Paradise PD. Does it get better? Because that was horrendous. It had some way to go to be worse than Pacific Heat, but it managed.

The bar seems to be very low for animated shows. Much more misses than hits right now.

Watching season two of The Sinner. It's superb. I loved the first season and i think this one could be even better.

Lots of very good TV shows about, not many great ones, The Deuce is almost great.

James Franco puts me off. Have tried to watch but cant get into it.

HBO tv series went to shit at some point during Boardwalk Empire (screenwriters strike maybe?) and has never gone back to the greatness they had me used to.

I'll watch eventually, but not with high hopes.

I'm watching a Yesterday series called Forbidden History. It's presented by Jamie Theakston, so it has the stamp of archaeological credibility.

Billions is very good, currently on season 3.

I found this season to be slow and lacking any real movement story wise.
The last two episodes (6&7) were good but IMO season one was way better

Really? Didn't think it was slow at all personally. Was always intriguing from the start i thought.

I just stop watching Designated Survivor season 2, after 12 episodes. Not as intense as the first season. Very disappointing.

Any of you fancy an old school police drama with all the twisting plots, I recommend The Shield.

Half way through Ken Burns' Vietnam documentary. It's about as detailed and comprehensive a look at war as you could hope for. I don't even usually care for history programmes but this is brilliant.

Anyone see 'Patriot' from Amazon?

Its a Wes Anderson meets Bourne.

I'm a couple of episodes from finishing it. Judging by this thread not nearly enough people have seen it though which is a shame because it's genuinely the best thing I've seen in ages. The sense of humour is right up my street...

"Rochambeau?"

Also Prague is captured beautifully. Not sure why they had to pretend it was Luxembourg though as it's instantly recognisable to anyone that's ever been there. I guess Americans don't travel that much.

Hmm, maybe I should watch this again. I found the first episode unbearably slow.

Man, blast from the past. I had forgotten about the series. I remember that I really enjoyed it. Was hoping for a Season 2.
Been a while now I guess I can watch it again.

Cheers!

Hmmm if you found the first episode slow then it's probably not for you. It's really the humour, characters and ludicrous scenario's that drive it along. If I had to liken it to something tone-wise then it's kind of like Wes Anderson directing a Martin McDonagh script.

I personally thought it was brilliant and such a shame that more people haven't seen it although glad to hear Season 2 is due out later this year.

Finished Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. Good enough, more Bourne than Bond, which I like, but really nothing about it that stands out.

Will try out.

Really enjoying American Vandal. I nearly turned it off when I started because I didn't think a Making A Murderer/Serial spoof had any legs past the general premise but I got right into it and I can't wait to get to the end now

Funny in moments too.

I'm surprised how much I like SOA... really enjoying the show with a good flow. I'm in the middle of Season 3 now

It's terrible. If you want something light hearted and funny to watch, try The Good place on netflix, or Life in Pieces on Amazon prime. They're different types of shows, but i enjoyed both, they're funny, light hearted and not so typically "American funny".

The ending of the show is rushed, but up until that, its superb.

Yeah, the Good Place is fun. I generally like everything Michael Schur is involved in.

I haven't seen Life In Pieces. Looked it up and I did't recognise names of the cast, but I do recognise a few faces. I'll give it a go.

Been watching “The Fall” recently, it’s pretty good if you like serial killer based shows.

As I’m on that topic, any of you wise ladies and gentlemen able to point me in the direction of a worthwhile serial killer based show to watch?

So far I’ve watched Dexter, Hannibal, Mind Hunter, The Fall

I liked it, it's a different kind of show, each episode is 20 minutes, with 4 seperate, 5 minute stories.

Eventually these stories start linking together, but not in a mystery kind of way, just in a background/running joke kind of way.
