Sounds like your taste is very similar to mine. Not sure if you re into the documentary meets TV show blend but I've quite enjoyed the Rome series narrated by Sean Bean. The scenes with the actors are frequent and quite well done. There are 2 seasons available atm.

Power is good, Definitely stick with it. I think it's approaching its 'jump the shark' moment in the current season but all of the other seasons prior to this one have been fun.
Average show. Highly overrated.

No Breaking bad on your list of classics? Definitely watch it if you haven't, Sons of Anarchy and Boardwalk Empire too. Power is really good, stick with it.
Yeah I liked Breaking Bad. I haven't watched Boardwalk Empire myself so will check that one out next
To answer my own questions: Hell yeah it is! Sat down with it Sunday and binged 4 hour long episodes, can't wait to get home from work and binge the remaining 4 of season 1. Some of the best acting I've seen on tv since The Wire. Tom Hardy is 10/10 in the role, for once his semi mute facial expressions totally fits the character,

I loved it. A little Peaky Blinders, a little The Terror. Grimy, period drama, gangster, supernatural vibe.
Watch The Terror as well if you haven't seen it.

I highly recommend The Exorcist. Season 2 wasn't all that, but season 1 is stellar stuff.

I'm watching Succession at the moment. What a great show. Funny as feck. It's from the creator of Peep Show (which i still haven't watched), and it's superb.
I second this , season 1 some of the best stuff I have watch, season 2 was down a bit, but still very good, gutted that they cancelled it.
Not seen or even heard of this, sounds like it is worth watching on imdb.

Sadly from what I have read , yeah it is pretty much dead in the water.
Netflix have saved Lucifer for one last season , hopefully they will finish the story.
Yeah, season 1 is legit some of the best horror ever put on the screen, or entertainment in general, independent of it being movie or series.
Watchmen gets the series order from HBO. Written and produced by Damon Lindelof (Lost, Leftovers)
I'll be binge watching this when it comes but I do worry about how well they can translate the source material. I know Moore is notoriously difficult to deal with and Lindelof has a point when he accused Moore of hypocrisy but at the same time he sets a very high standard for himself as Moore really transcended the comic book/graphic novel genre. As a side note, I think Neil Gaiman's Miracle Man: Golden Age was an amazing sequel to Moore's work on Miracle Man and that is the standard Lindelof is setting for himself so he better be as good at actually writing as he is at chatting smack.

Yeah. Was hearing rumours that it might not be coming back to BBC and it would be on Netflix instead, but confirmed now it's back on BBC in the Autumn. Good news underrated show.

I've watched two episodes of The Deuce. It's great so far. Superbly written (as you would expect), and the world that they've created is one of the most well imagined worlds i've seen. New York is absolutely dripping in that 1970's grime and grit that was synonymous with the city at that time. They absolutely nailed it.
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan : Amazon Prime Original starting John Krasinski
Very well made, fast paced, great action with an intelligent plot and very good performances by the entire cast.
Also loved how they portrayed Jack Ryan, he's not your typical action hero but a guy with many skeletons in his closet.
I've not read a single Jack Ryan book but I felt they did a very good job adapting the book.
