Has anyone watched the pilot of HBO's porn drama The Deuce?
I didn't think it was that great to be honest. I lost interest and packed it in.
Guardian just gave it 5 stars.
Can't wait. David Simon + HBO + Porn. Seriously, what could go wrong?
Yeah George Pelecanos is also a writer for the show so I hope it can reach The Wire-level in terms of writing. HBO already had a failed 70s show in Vinyl, hopefully they don't make the same mistakes with The Deuce. Let Simon do his thing and he'll deliver.

Watched The Deuce's pilot. I'm not amazed, but it looks very promising.
Thought Hung was a good plot and show. Kind of Breaking Bad-ish. Underpaid schoolteacher takes up 2nd career to make ends meet.
Just started This is us and have to say it seems to be really good if one is in the mood for that Kind of corny stuff.
Yeah 'This is Us' is a good show, it's written by the team that done the movie 'Crazy,Stupid,Love' which is a low key very good film.
Problem I have with 'This is Us' though is that you have to be in a certain mood to watch it. It's not one of those you can watch just when you feel like it.
I think Hung is one of the worst things I've watched tbh. The sheer awesomeness of the tits and arse on the show was the only reason I ended up watching the whole thing.

I found the premise of Hung really silly and difficult to get past.
East Bound and Down is one show. Kenny Powers (Danny McBride), a washed up alcoholic baseball player with no social filter. Yeah, it's good.
The TV re-imagining of The Mist (it shares no charcters, and only the broadest plot strokes with the book & film) is one of the silliest, poorly conceived things I've seen in a while. It's also accidentally hilarious often enough for me to have plowed through 7 eps in two days just to see how much nonsensical B movie camp and inept dramatic gravitas they can awkwardly shunt together unsuccessfully into another 40 minutes.
Literally nothing any of the characters does makes any sense at all, and who ever had the idea to include a High School date rape subplot into a show about a magical monster fog was off their rocker. They also attempt to create about 5 different Mrs Carmody's, because, hey, she was the best character in the book, so let's make everyone Mrs Carmody! That's good writing, right?
I'm watching episode 8 now. The raped girl is playfully skating with her accused rapist around a mall besieged by murder mist. Also the Four Horsemen of the Apocaplyse shot a priest. It's utterly terrible, but kinda fun.

Watch the movie instead. Much better.

Movie was good. Tv show sucks. We stopped watching after 4 episodes.
The mall manager also played senator Clay Davis in The Wire.

Nudity apart, it's also interesting to see what they've created. Bit nuts if you ask me but they're real serious about this whole business.

I've only watched Daredevil and Luke Cage and while I enjoyed the first season of Daredevil, I thought Luke Cage was so boring. Couldn't even finish the season.
Parks & Rec or The Office (US)?
Both are great, but I'd say The Office.
Watch both though, don't limit to just one. Office first, Parks second. Both start weak with poor first seasons. Luckily they're short (6 eps) and both hit their stride in Season 2.
Narcos or Ozark?
Bojack Horseman s4 is out today for any fans of that show.
Urgh, yeah. It was pure Damon Lindelof "It's really all about the characters so we don't have to explain the Mist" style writing. No. You don't have to over-explain the Mist, but you have to present it as a consistent thing*, or at the very least give some kind of clue as to why it's not. The book doesn't labor on it, but it hints to it being a Lovecraftian dimensional thing with otherworldy monsters. This just goes "feck it, it does everything. Anything and everything we think looks cool in this particular scene, and feck finding any rationale for it whatsoever"....
* or at least consistent about which doors it can get through.

Haven't seen Sons of Anarchy, but i watched the first season (or half season) of Power, and its cringeworthy.
So fecking bad. (Except for the Lela Loren scenes when she is naked, holy fecks)

Thought so too but heard Ozark is really good.
By the way is Narcos finished now or is there going to be a season 4? Because I don't like to watch something and having to wait months new episodes.
Ozark is good don't get me wrong, but I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as I do Narcos.
And yeah it looks like there will be a season 4.
