Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

White Gold with Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl is on Netflix. Decently watchable show about some window salesmen in Essex

I watched this on BBC2 when it was on. Got Jay and Simon from the Inbetweeners in it to. It's the kind of show you watch on a Sunday after you look at the Sky guide and get angry why you pay £80+ per month.

How far did you go? It's not quality television but it's fine when you have nothing else to watch.

Anyone watched Power? Everyone in work is raving about it but watched the first episode and thought it was terrible

It's only been on 1 season and finished a few months back so watched all of those when they were on. It's been renewed for season 2 next year.

I love it. I think aside from Thrones it's one of the best shows on TV right now. If you don't like urban violence and stuff though then it may not be for you. If you like shows with an edge then stick with it.

Power is a very underrated show. It's popcorn but it's better than a lot of stuff around right now. Everyone acts well enough other than 50 Cent

Killjoys is something I've found recently which is quite good. If you like Sci-fi things like firefly for example. Season 1 and 2 are on Netflix and season 3 is right now about 8 episodes in.

As for Power, I watched most of the first season but something about it is just really boring and predictable, really just can't get in to it.

New season of Ray Donovan is incredibly shite. Suppose the seasons before is stuff to watch when there's nothing else on as well.

I got about half way through season one before giving up on it. Thought it was shit.

It's very uneven in its first couple of seasons. The main actor is rubbish and has one facial expression. It has lots of unnecessary gratuitous shagging and nudity set to music. There's a lot about it that's awful. What makes it very good later is the other characters like Tommy and some of the small time hoodlums and peripheral characters. The latest season is very good with lots of great black comedy.

It sort of reminds me of Vikings, in that initially its inconsistent and plain weird but something kept me watching and ultimately it was very rewarding.

???

Viking is a quality show, not comparable to fecking Power under any parameter.

Anyone watch Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency? I've watched the first three episodes so far and really enjoying it.

I think it's too far up it's own ass (oh look at me, I'm crazy!) and all of the characters are dicks, however it's for some reason still very watchable.

I'm anticipating Narcos season 3, HBO's The Deuce and Netflix' Mindhunter. Anyone know of other good crime/drama/thriller shows coming out in September/October?

Really enjoying the adaptation of Stephen Kings "Mr. Mercedes", Brendan Gleeson is superb as the lead.

Just finished Ozark, a Netflix original. In a nutshell it's about a finance guy laundering money for a Mexican drug cartel and the lengths he has to go to to protect his family. Yes, if being super critical could say it's a bit formulaic but what it does it does really well. Looking back it reminds me of how the Coen brothers might tell a story give or take. Anyhow it's 10 episode story is a blast and I'd recommend it. I loved it!

2 episodes into it. Enjoying it so far, doesn't seem to be anything too ground-breaking or original but it certainly makes me want to watch on.

Mr Robot should have been a one-off thing. Only watched the first episode of the second season but it was awful and felt kinda pointless, casting Joey Badass was the last straw.

By the way, saw that Transparent is getting a fifth season. How the hell did they managed to drag that story further? One season was enough there too.

The Tick on Prime is genuinely good, light hearted show.

Agreed, two shows that have jumped the shark.

Anyone seen that Beowulf series? I love GoT and also Vikings and The last Kingdom.

Is it similar to those or more like Legend of the Seeker etc.?

Why didn't 11.22.63 get much press? It's great. In feel as much as anything else. Love a nostalgic throwback.

100%

Second season was hipsterish nonsense.
