Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Season 3 has started already, I did watch season 1 and I thought it was just OK , nothing special, sort of been putting off season 2 for that reason.

The uptick from season 1 to 2 is quite remarkable. I was borderline on whether to continue, but now it's my favourite current show.

Did Deadwood get a proper ending or get cancelled? Might have to give it a crack.

Season 1 was a bit dour at times but the second season is absolutely fantastic, so much better than the first and the third season is a cracker so far.

I watched the first couple and couldn't get into it. I liked the aesthetic though, from what I remember.
You should give it another go. The show's made a strange evolution, at the beginning it's kinda cold and maybe taking itself a bit too serious at times, and kinda hard to get into, but it just gets looser and right now it's great freewheeling television.

The only shame is that nothing will top these series anytime soon. What are you currently watching?
The Leftovers is amazing, season two is up there with the best individual seasons of TV ever, season three (currently airing) is also spectacularly weird, it's not a show for everyone but definitely up there in that tier below those three for me.

Cheers, that'll be next for me then.

Anyone seen Boardwalk Empire?

There's a Deadwood HBO movie in the works I believe. The series creator has a script and a few of the actors have read it. Can't be arsed to find where I read it as I'm off out now, quick google should do the trick.

Just finished Fortitude, was alright. The setting, a small arctic town, is great for a murder mystery. Much like southern Louisiana was for True Detective.

It was a bit immersion breaking though that the young scientist looks remarkably like a shorter English version of David de Gea. 13/20.

It will be without Cy Tolliver though :( RIP Powers Boothe

The writers strike killed it. When they could finally go ahead with the series a lot of the actors had other commitments and the set rotted away so much it would have cost too much to rebuild.
It's a travesty

I second the advice on the previous pages about Gomorra. If anyone is a sucker for mob shows with lots of violence like me you'll certainly enjoy it.

I finished watching season 4 of Parks and Rec this morning. I'm a bit biased because I was a fan of Aubrey Plaza before watching but it's the most enjoyable comedy show I've watched along with Arrested Development.

I'm starting with The Wire now. After everyone and their mother saying it's the best show ever I've got sort of high expectations for this one, hopefully it will live up to them!

It's very slow paced. Stick with it and I'm sure you'll love it after a few episodes.

yes! 12 Monkeys is back!

One of my favourite shows.

Noticed that 4 episodes are out, do they plan to release the entire season in one go, or is it a leak?

EDIT: just found this bit of info:

"Syfy is airing the whole season over three consecutive nights. 4 on Friday, 3 on Saturday, 3 on Sunday."

I have watched many shows but The Wire is the best one for me. However it's not for people who aren't even slightly interested in serious themes like poverty, corruption etc. You have to appreciate the dialogues.

It's great, with cracking actors/characters.

I've just started watching the Flash! Which is pretty good! Arrow has a few appearances, which I may also start watching.

Anyone watched How to get away with Murder? It's been highly recommended; unfortunately by someone who told me Stranger Things was brilliant!

Re-watching Lost for the first time since its release (12 years!?). It's brilliant, I've forgotten most of it and I know a lot of it just won't ever make any sense, but it's still great TV, like a book you just can't put down.

season 1 is okay. overall the show is a drama thriller and the writers never stop finding ways to generate more conflict between the characters (love triangles everywhere) with lots yelling and crying. it's not at all realistic and frankly farcical how every prosecutor and judge is a gullible moron. it's fine to watch while making dinner or hoovering.

Scandal (same creator) is better imo. at least it has some political maneuvering and you can imagine some of it being true.

I liked Bloodline. Good show. I don't think it's that slow paced for a drama. I didn't like How to get away with murder, too artificial for my liking. Which is a bit ironic perhaps, since I think

12 Monkeys is great, in particular for a sci-fi enthusiast.

No problem, it's alright because what it aims to do it does well but it's nothing incredible. If i could recommend something it would be Mr. Robot. Might be my favourite show ever. Won numerous awards including the Golden Globe for best drama in 2015.

Here's the intro scene (lot of other trailers have minor spoilers)

Is season two as good as the first? I enjoyed the first season but lost a bit of interest because

Ben Mendelson's character has died

Not quite as good but still well worth watching. A lot more happens in season 2 that's for sure.

He is still in it quite a bit
