I'd add POWER in there somewhere to. Dexter was excellent the first 4 seasons but fell off a cliff.

As a watcher of both, I would vehemently disagree with Better Call Saul and Walking Dead being top class.

Never heard of Power. Looking for a series to watch once I finish my 2nd viewing of GOT, may give it a go if you agree with my list for the large part.

I love BCS. Yes, it's a slow burner, but I just love the style of show and the overall feel of it; hard to explain.

I was tempted to put TWD in the lower list due to inconsistent of the past couple of seasons, but the first few seasons were top class imo which just about makes up for it. Kind of like Dexter.

Yeah that's fair enough, opinions being opinions and all that! Using two of the shows mentioned as examples I pretty much loved Dexter right up until the very end, despite the obvious drop in quality after season 4. Whereas with TWD I feel that there's been about 3 good episodes per season (after season 1) and that most of it is unmitigated shite but I'm in too deep to stop watching now

I'd definetly recommend it. Especially considering you have watched all thos excellent shows in your list already.

That's exactly how I feel as well

I keep say I wish they'd just end the show, but they know it's too much of a money maker. It's being horrendously dragged out and it has seriously damaged the quality of the show. They need to learn from GOT and just kill off main characters out of no where. But tbf, GOT has so many main characters that they can afford to do that, whereas I don't give a feck about anyone in TWD apart from Maggie which is really only 90% cosmetically.

Ugh, shocker of a list.

12 Monkeys
The Exorcist
Banshee

Three most underappreciated series around.

The Exorcist is the one that sticks out the most for me because I hate remakes and piggybacking on old stuff, old stuff which I adore compared to the soulless tripe we get today.

But somehow they went ahead and nailed it and made a show actually greater than the original movie. I'd actually class it as some of the best horror made, and being a huge fan of the genre since my childhood I've nearly seen it all, good and bad.

Entourage was good, but hardly a classic in my opinion. Lacked substance, couldn't really get into it like The Wire etc.
Edit: So yes, he fecked the order up.

Everything after that is void tbf. And potentially cause for instant social ostracism.

Banshee is HBO? Maybe I'll give it a watch, it's genuinely worth it?

----bucket list quality----
The Sopranos
Breaking Bad
Game of thrones
The wire

------epic-----
The shield (very under rated)
The man in the high castle
House of cards
Sons of anarchy
Prison break
Stranger things
Narcos (nearly good enough for the list above)
Better call Saul
The get down (very different)

------- I also enjoyed----
Gotham
Desperate housewives
Ugly betty
Orange is the new black
Marco polo
The big bang theory
Fraiser

I have to say I've enjoyed all the marvel stuff on Netflix but it's not something I'd rewatch.

It gets mentioned in the same tier as Sopranos and The Wire quite often. Not sure I'd agree with that myself.
@SwansonsTache @pauldyson1uk cheers, I'll check it out and report back.

YouTube "greatest fights from Banshee" and you'll get a feel for it. The fights are often 5 minute long segments of absolute carnage with Methodic Doubt as a soundtrack

The Sopranos, The Wire, and Mad Men are on another level to anything else.

Anyone who doesn't agree should be taken outside, shot in the face and then fed to the dogs, and if they miss part of the face they should be shot again for good measure.

Maybe i'm not looking closely enough but I don't often see it get mentioned at all, well in this thread anyway.

And yeah I wouldn't put it in the same category as The Wire or Sopranos but I would put it in the one below them which is still bloody high.

All three are excellent, if you have not watched them , you just have to watch them.

The only shame is that nothing will top these series anytime soon. What are you currently watching?

Yeah, not in this thread, I'll give you that. It's got more of a cult/niche following, perhaps because of the shorter run time compared to the other two.
