For Comedy, nothing beats It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Peep show a far 2nd.
I'd add POWER in there somewhere to. Dexter was excellent the first 4 seasons but fell off a cliff.
I love BCS. Yes, it's a slow burner, but I just love the style of show and the overall feel of it; hard to explain. As a watcher of both, I would vehemently disagree with Better Call Saul and Walking Dead being top class.
Yeah that's fair enough, opinions being opinions and all that! Using two of the shows mentioned as examples I pretty much loved Dexter right up until the very end, despite the obvious drop in quality after season 4. Whereas with TWD I feel that there's been about 3 good episodes per season (after season 1) and that most of it is unmitigated shite but I'm in too deep to stop watching nowI love BCS. I was tempted to put TWD in the lower list due to inconsistent of the past couple of seasons, but the first few seasons were top class imo which just about makes up for it. Kind of like Dexter.
Never heard of Power. Looking for a series to watch once I finish my 2nd viewing of GOT, may give it a go if you agree with my list for the large part.

Each to their ownUgh, shocker of a list.
Not including the way he's ranked the shows, which I disagree with, there are about 10 very very good shows on that list. If that's a shocker of a list, what garbage do you watch?Ugh, shocker of a list.
that's why it's a shocker of a list. Not including the way he's ranked the shows, which I disagree with, there are about 10 very very good shows on that list. If that's a shocker of a list, what garbage do you watch?
Should have specified, apologies however, I evidently misunderstood.that's why it's a shocker of a list.
AMC too, surely?Basically.
Keep an eye out for HBO, Netflix and FX programming.
Avoid ABC, Fox and Starz shows.

Entourage was good, but hardly a classic in my opinion. Lacked substance, couldn't really get into it like The Wire etc.Not Entourage, for one.

Edit: So yes, he fecked the order up.
Banshee is HBO? Maybe I'll give it a watch, it's genuinely worth it?12 Monkeys
The Exorcist
Banshee
Three most underappreciated series around.
The Exorcist is the one that sticks out the most for me because I hate remakes and piggybacking on old stuff, old stuff which I adore compared to the soulless tripe we get today.
But somehow they went ahead and nailed it and made a show actually greater than the original movie. I'd actually class it as some of the best horror made, and I've seen it all.
Fair pointEverything after that is void tbf. And potentially cause for instant social ostracism.

100 % worth watching, I thought it was brilliant.Banshee is HBO? Maybe I'll give it a watch, it's genuinely worth it?
It gets mentioned in the same tier as Sopranos and The Wire quite often. Not sure I'd agree with that myself.Deadwood never gets any love.

@SwansonsTache @pauldyson1uk cheers, I'll check it out and report back.
I really want to watch this but I've been waiting for what feels like ages for the HD remaster.

The only shame is that nothing will top these series anytime soon. What are you currently watching? The Sopranos, The Wire, and Mad Men are on another level to anything else.
Anyone who doesn't agree should be taken outside, shot in the face and then fed to the dogs, and if they miss part of the face they should be shot again for good measure.
Yeah, not in this thread, I'll give you that. It's got more of a cult/niche following, perhaps because of the shorter run time compared to the other two.Maybe i'm not looking closely enough but I don't often see it get mentioned at all, well in this thread anyway.
And yeah I wouldn't put it in the same category as The Wire or Sopranos but I would put it in the one below them which is still bloody high.
Have you watched The Leftovers yet? I reckon it'll make your brain go into haywire with conflicted feelings.Everything after that is void tbf. And potentially cause for instant social ostracism.
Season 3 has started already, I did watch season 1 and I thought it was just OK , nothing special, sort of been putting off season 2 for that reason.Have you watched The Leftovers yet? I reckon it'll make your brain go into haywire with conflicted feelings.
another one I have been putting off, dont know why , its get rave reviews.Banshee and Peaky Blinders
