Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Yeah started watching it and about halfway through the 2nd episode it becomes pretty clear it's a load of aimless nonsense. I still feel somewhat compelled to watch it the whole way through, just to see how bad it gets. Shame Brit Marling's turning out to be a one-note writer. I quite liked Another Earth but the Sound of My Voice was just a shorter version of the OA.

You have to watch the ending. If only for perverse curiosity. It's one of the single biggest pieces of pretentious nonsense I've ever seen. Almost admirably so.

Was recommended Ricky and Morty, don't know if any of you watch it. Watched the first 5 episodes and I'm pretty unimpressed. Seems like the kind of show you'd only enjoy if you're stoned.

If anyone on here hasn't seen It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, you're missing out big time... So funny!

Seems to me that one must be a klazomaniac in order to enjoy It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Klazomania - tics commonly present in alcoholics. Sounds about right. If seeing a naked, oily Danny Devito falling arse first out of the interior of a sofa isn't enough to win you over nothing will sir!

 Great description

The good place- Really decent under the radar show( in the UK at least). About a quasi-heaven where the best one percent of people go to live and Kirsten bell is admitted in error. It really is a very funny, very enjoyable show from the people behind the office US and Brooklyn nine-nine. Ted Danson also stars and pulls a face and performs a gesture at one point during the season which is without doubt one of the greatest pieces of acting in a comedy I have ever seen.

Deadwood is fecking amazing. Not only is it a brilliant drama but one of the funniest shows as well.

That Chinese drug smuggler who only ever says cocksucker and Swedgin is bloody hilarious:lol:

Quite a few fans of Rick & Morty on here, see this topic. I just checked and apparently there's still no air date for season 3. :(

COCKSUCKER?!

Have you seen Rome? It's by HBO as well at the same time frame. Like Deadwood, it's dropped a season or two earlier than expected due to budgeting cuts and such. Both are excellent, though.

Will look it up. Still only done with 1st season of Deadwood. Just finished the episode in the 2nd season where Swearengen's cock is violated by the Doc. That had me cringing:nervous:

The first episode was a bit annoying but after that it got batter and finished decently. ot at the level of Sopranos, The Wire or Breaking Bad but well worth watching.

I'm the opposite, I thought the first episode was great, and then didn't end quite as strong.

Still, very good show overall... too much excema though.

I haven't seen Deadwood and plan to soon. Maybe use spoiler tags for stuff in the show? Just sayin'.

Rome is great.

Yeah, Ian McShane basically steals every scene he's in, but I really loved the Doc as a character. Such stellar performances across the board.

And as for Rome, whilst it's (a little loosely) based on historical events, you can see the early signs of them building up to something like GoT. The set designs and costumes are incredible, the level of detail is pretty great. And it coincides with the budget issues: supposedly it was around $9m per episode! Even now with GoT at it's peak it's only somewhere around $60m for an entire season.

Nah, $100m now.

Does that go for all threads and topics?

Why do you care cocksucker?

Cheers mate. Sound pretty good.

Oh, really? Makes sense I guess. Although it did take them 6 seasons to get there.
it's been close to that for a while, the more popular it got the more money they pumped into it. Season one was only $60m (which isn't that much for a HBO show) because they weren't sure a fantasy show would be popular.

Rome is incredible, definitely get on that.

Anyone seen Black Mirror? Recently had it recommended to me, watched the first season, was particularly impressed with episode 3, but I'm loving it so far.

There is a thread on it in here somewhere as quite a few watch it, if I recall its spoiler safe too. Black mirror obviously varies massively episode to episode as they are individual but some of them are right up there in terms of the best tv around. At absolute worst you just see a quite average episode.

Anyone watched Sneaky Pete? Just seen an advert for it and it intrigued me, then seen season 1 has a 100% fresh rating on rotten tomatoes and pretty good ratings on metacritic and imdb...

Good show. There's a thread dedicated to it on this forum

Just started to watch Love/Hate after my aunt lent me the boxset. She also recommended The Wire to me, so I'm more than willing to give this a fair chance :D

You've got a cool Auntie. My Auntie would lend me the best of the antiques roadshow, or some absolute shite line that :D

She is pretty class tbf :)

I'm six episodes deep right now (second episode of S2)... Still not sure on it. I'm interested enough to keep going, but it's not absolutely must watch TV so far.

Just finished watching the first 3 episodes of Goliath. I really like it, so far. I think it's been casted incredibly well. First show I've watched in a while where I immediately felt connected to the characters.

I had planned on going to bed at 2am but I could barely tear myself away, now, at 5am. Sign of a good show!

I started watching Lilyhammer recently - a mobster goes into witness protection and starts a new life in Lilyhammer. It's great, I highly recommend it.

That show was brilliant. Loved it. So disappointed Netflix didnt renew it.

Any single character is incredibly well scripted and even better played. A show i could watch forever and ever, always more to discover. "we teach a special sweeping technique here - follow her lead!".

Lilyhammer is a very funny and entertaining lightweight. I can see why they stopped doing it i guess, in the end it was pretty predictable - some sort of funny problem occurs, Johnny solves it finally by either bullying or bribery...

I don't know if it's been mentioned on here (I can't be bothered to look) but Stranger Things is a great series. Although you'll need to have Netflix to watch it.
