Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Banshee and Exorcist are both brilliant. Depends what you like really. Banshee is an all out action show, while Exorcist is a horror show.

If you like horror you'll need to see the Exorcist show though, from a horror perspective it is some of the best stuff made IMO.
You and pauldy have raved about the Exorcist, it's tempting. @Dirty Schwein have you watched it? I trust your taste in horror.

There's a new show called Taboo, starring Tom Hardy. A few of my pals have told me the start looks very promising, I haven't had the time to watch it yet.

Cheers, will have a looky.

Watched The unfortunate events and thought that it was a little boring. Maybe it would've been better if the episodes were coming weekly, I don't know - the repetitiveness, although clearly intended, is over the top.

Nice Count Olaf costumes though

Goliath is quite watchable, mostly because of Billy Bob. It's all a bit daft and that, but I like it.

I'm gonna finish Rectify now... specifically the whole season 4.

the dialogues in this are probably the best in any other TV series I've watch in the last 5 years. As real as it gets i would say, and the acting all around is brilliant.

The OA is terrible. It starts off mysteriously feeding you scraps of an interesting story and gets shittier by the episode. Save your time.

My friend really likes it. She made me sit through first 5 episodes. I thought it got better but it definitely didn't grab me

The season finally might be one of the worst I've ever seen. It doesn't make any sense and comes out of nowhere and the reaction to it from the characters is absolutely ludicrous.

Just finished it. 1 episode last night and the rest today. Some of the best TV I've ever seen. I miss it already lol
It was truly brilliant. Although it did produce one scene of unintentional hilarity:

The black priest going all kung fu and snapping necks in that meat locker had me in stitches.[/spoilers]

I loved series 2.

Just finished it. Agreed. Even better than series 1. It would be so easy to make an utter arse of this series but they have done really really well with it. That said I'm finding Joe's story line a bit odd unless there are twists to come.

Indeed. Better than the first series. Yeah I suspect we'll see more twists in Joe's storyline. Makes GoT look like teen fiction - which it is, to be fair. Anyway fav characters, Wibbs? I like Robert, John Smith and Inspector Kido.

Sadly the viewer numbers for the Exorcist wasn't all that great due to FOX giving it a shit airtime, long breaks and not enough promotion.

This was the right show for the wrong network. Mumbling fools watching FOX with their tv dinner just doesn't appreciate a quality slow burner like The Exorcist.

Should be news from FOX soon if they will renew for S2, but if they don't then FX, Cinemax or Netflix should pick it up.

I forget her name, but the actress that played the oldest daughter was even tweeting out how disappointed the cast were with all the breaks between episodes.

It's a real shame if it doesn't get renewed as it was a genuinely excellent show.

Yeah started watching it and about halfway through the 2nd episode it becomes pretty clear it's a load of aimless nonsense. I still feel somewhat compelled to watch it the whole way through, just to see how bad it gets. Shame Brit Marling's turning out to be a one-note writer. I quite liked Another Earth but the Sound of My Voice was just a shorter version of the OA.

I quite liked it, but I've got to admit I agree with the assertion that it was a 'little boring'.

I think its real issue is that it tries to be too faithful to the books. I don't think there's really enough content in each book to be an entertaining two hour story, but if they had cut each one down to one episode, or maybe an episode and a half, it would have worked quite well.

!! One of my favourite ever shows. If anyone has never seen it, go see it!

Going to start The Exorcist tonight after reading peoples comments on here. I would start it right now but the lodger has control of the remote...

It has some good moments and conceptually I think the show had potential but really wish i'd have just skipped the series.

Great news!

I completely agree that FOX is the wrong network for this show. It needs more freedom to do it's own thing

Slow burner? Looking back it was one of the few series that seems to have no filler in it.

The demon and how he was portrayed was brilliant. In fact the cast was nigh on perfect. The show was truly evil - it forced me to watch the whole series in < 24 hours

Can't wait to hear what you think. I'm really surprised it wasn't more highly rated by the critics, but for what it is, I can't imagine it being done any better.

Watched Preacher. Not bad, quite funny and does have that comic book feel to it (I've not read the comic on which it was based though).

Watching The Night Of at the moment and loving it! First episode was a bit slow for me but it's got a real hold of me now - fantastic stuff.

Yeah, slow burner was a poor choice of words. A story and plot that unfolds over a duration of episodes is what I meant. Those FOX cnuts prefer their one episode plots of tripe.

One of the best things about the show was the casting and pacing yes, normally I use a few eps to get into a show but The Exorcist sucked me right in from ep 1.
