Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Just started the second season of Californication and I loved it:lol: some of the humour is great, I get the feeling its one of those shows that will fall off towards the end though but Love it at the moment, I definitely recommend it to anyone who fancies a laugh.

yeah man its pretty good. Keep going and enjoy. The movie to finish it off too. definitely good fun.

I'm absolutely kicking myself I didn't start it when it first aired, yeah I can watch it all in one go now but it's not quite the same. It regularly has me laughing so I'll deffo keep watching.

Ha yeah loved that show... watched it when it was on air, so i've forgotten most of it... thanks for the reminder, must rewatch!

Oh yeah, and in my head i've always had this being similar to Entourage. Give that a go if you haven't!

wow i just realized you are talking about Califonication.

I thought you were talking about Entourage. Californication has no movie if I recall correctly.

But yeah, like @dellboyy says, pretty similar shows. Both good fun.

Although Californication drop in quality in later seasons is way more notorious than Entourage.

Search Party with Alia Shawkat (Maybe from Arrested Development) is pretty good, about a group of useless New York hipsters who attempt to solve the mystery of a missing girl. Starts as a mocking comedy and gets progressively more dramatic. Thought it ended very satisfyingly.

Also, in trash binge kinda way, I found iZombie quite enjoyable for a disposable procedural.

Search Party is pretty good alright, enjoyed it.

Anyone catch Taboo on BBC today? First episode wasn't bad at all. Tom Hardy and Jonathan Pryce star.

2 shows I'm looking forward to in 2017:

- The Deuce, its showrunner is David Simon known for The Wire and Treme. It's about the porn industry in NY during the 70s.
- Mindhunter, another collab between Netflix and Fincher.

I was not expecting that ending of ep5

Yeah episode 5 and 8 was big talking points during the time they aired.

Really hoping they make a second season even though they concluded in this season. They still left it open in the end though.

Idiots at FOX gave it a bad timeslot for airing so it didn't have all that many viewers, still quite a few though, but not sure it will be enough for them to renew.

I could see this series doing well with totally independent stories being told each season, like American Horror Story, True Detective etc.

5 eps in to Designated Survivor , Kiefer Sutherland has a low level congress man , made POTUS after a terror attack.
It is pretty good.

It popped up on Netlfix as a new show with a good rating so I decided to give it a go. Watched the entire first season but I've no idea why...it genuinely has some of the worst dialogue and acting I've ever seen. Every 5 minutes it's the end of the world, with the dramatic music to go with it, and in between that time there's loads of soppy romance.

All valid points, but for some reason I had to watch it all, it s not the best thing I have watched but I really want to see season 2.

About 6 episodes into The Americans. Enjoying it so far, fast paced and an interesting setting.

Also started Rectify which seems like it could be a good little slow burner.

Promising start to both.

Season 1 was originally 10 episodes, but was extended to a full 24 episode season...it starts back up in March I think...

Both sound really good, hadn't heard of them. The Deuce is meant to be aired at some point in January but there's no date fixed yet, weird.

I think they started filming in 2015 so shouldn't take long anymore. I am really looking forward to it, I have a fascination with 70s/80s NY and with David Simon it's likely to be good.

Finished it. Outstanding, hope they do a second season but of they don't this had an excellent ending and completed the story. There is still a few unanswered questions and sub plots, but if it is one one season , it was a good one

It truly is a great show. Horror wise it is up there with the classics IMO.

How they could possibly pull off making a show based on such a classic movie is beyond me, but they managed to include just enough of a backdrop to the original movie without overdoing it.

I agree , it is defo one you will want to watch more than once, I did not read up about it and was not expecting any reference to the film to be honest.

I love Peep Show and The Office. Is there anything similar to these?

Thick of It & Extras. Not so similar but also great comedies are Parks and Rec, Office (US), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, People Just Do Nothing.
