Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Just finished 2 seasons, first was OK , nearly gave up a few time but stuck with it.
Second season was much better and I enjoyed it more.
Looking forward to season 3.

Yeah, season 2 took it up to a 7/10 from a 5/10 for me. Actually excited for season 3.

Now go watch Farscape for some proper scifi :)

So, watched the first episode of "The Last Ship" yesterday and it caught my interest. Will be watching the rest of it. Not really well acted but the story interests me, also Rhona Mithra interests me.

Directed by Michael Bay so the millitary jizzfest, saluting and 'merica feck yeah factor was a bit cringeworthy, but I've heard they tone that stuff down later. It is said to rise considerably in quality in season 2 and 3.

Like Killjoys season 1 can be a bit ropey, but it does get better, not started season 3 yet.

I began to see Dark matter but gave up after two episodes. It does not seem to have too much budget. I thought there would be more elements of science fiction, futuristic and similar stuff.
I also abandoned the Preacher after the pilot . I expected something else. I found it too fanciful.

Right now I'm watching the Path, the serie that @Brown Toothpick recommended . The story , about a cult is quite original however the plot has evolved very quickly so I have my doubts about a second season.

I 'm also watching The Colony, about an alien invasion that turns the big cities into ghettos. The protagonists are " Sawyer" (Lost) and the wife of Rick (Walking Dead).
It's not great but is good enough while the new series don´t begin,It has action and is entertaining.

The Last Ship third season is being entertaining, as always lots of action but
I liked it better when the situation was more chaotic. With the virus hitting hard and pure apocalypse .
Even that cult led by a british seemed harder to control. In this season the all mighty Tom Chandler has ended with China (which had only security guards and four ships ) and has already begun to conquer America. All that with his three colleagues.

Freaks and Geeks - It is a sitcom from the early 2000's which only aired for one season, after being dropped. It has developed a cult like status over the years, and is the show that made the likes of James Franco, Seth Rogan, Linda Cardellini, Jason Segal quite popular/well known. It was their breakthrough.

I absolutely loved this show as it showed what high school life was like back then in America. Please check it out if you haven't done so.

long live carlos the dwarf!

"Last Ship" is terrible. So bad is kinda good. (I'm up to date with the last episode.)

Also abandoned "Preacher" after 2 or 3 episodes... not good.

the first episode of Quarry is out... i have high hopes for that one.

It seems "Banshee" is a good tv show to watch... good comments in general.

Same as "Justified"... my brother keeps telling me to watch it.

i might gave this 2 a chance...

Banshee is possibly the greatest thing ever. First season is good, second season is great and third season is just amazeballs.

The first season of Dark Matter is indeed very low budget, maybe the most low budget sci-fi show you'll ever see. However, it still has a good story and can be fun to watch if you can get past that. Season 2 saw a big budget boost and it looks a lot better now (CG, sets, and action scenes). Season 2 also improved every single aspect of the show and just had an excellent episode (penultimate episode of the season).

Would someone recommend The Leftovers? I read that the second season is very good although also comments saying that is a very strange show.

Thanks for the advice , I will try then give it a try . Have you seen Expanse? Would you recommend it?

The expanse is quality. It got 50x the budget of Dark Matter and it shows.

I tried Dark matter as well, but had to give up. If you want some popcorn scifi then watch Killjoys, it is better than Dark Matter imo.

Yea, The Expanse has the highest budget in Syfy's history (the American channel that produces all these space sci-fi shows).

I very much disagree about Killjoys being better than Dark Matter though. Yes, Killjoys had much better production values in the first season than Dark Matter, but Dark Matter has the stronger premise, story, and more interesting characters IMO. And with Dark Matter's increased budget in season 2, it's comfortably better than Killjoys.

Leftovers is excellent, the second season was the best season out of any show that I watched last year. It is a drama first and foremost though, and with its pacing, its not for everyone. The first season especially is a bit frustrating as the show seems unsure about what it is trying to do. The first season still has some excellent episodes and very much worth watching IMO. However, the second season is outstanding, start to finish. The show underwent somewhat of a revamp after its first season, and the second season introduced some big changes. If you like great dramas, its worth watching. The Leftovers' third season will premiere in April 2017 and it'll be the show's final season. So overall, it will be a pretty short run for the show.

Short is sweet. I love short seasons, and fewer number of them. 3-4 is just perfect for me.

Interesting plot for Leftovers, but that fecking Damon Idiot just scares me. Will probably check it out still.

Thanks, you sold it very well  , I will start tonight with the Leftovers

Banshee is great, in my opinion the first season is the best. Tits , good soundtrack and a lot of good fights .
The second and third seasons are also good but perhaps too melancholic .

cheers! ill give it a watch soon.

ps. The Expanse is really good.

Expanse was fine, but I'm not too big of the political side in it. And most of the characters were a bit bland. Last episode of the season promises something nice for the second one though.

I've seen the first chapter of The Leftovers , I'm still a little bit lost but I liked it . I am using the free month of Netflix and finally watched The Last Kingdom. Being a big fan of Vikings I had my doubts but I really liked it. I was hooked very quick.Vikings seems more raw and hard but I like both in its own way.
It has also started the new season of Blindspot

There was no fifth season of BSG. Counted mini-series as one?
You're right. For whatever reasons, I had separated in my mind season 3 in two seasons. I thought that Exodus Part 2 was the last episode in that season, while in fact it was only the fourth episode in the third season (the episode when humans escape from New Earth).

After that episode, the quality started decreased.

I thought that it was too slow. They could definitely make things faster, especially considering that there are 10 books as source material, and the first episode had just like half of the first book.

The technical aspects of it were quite good, but I hope that they make things happen a bit faster on the next seasons.

Anyone else love Angie Tribeca?

I've heard it described as the stupidest show ever, and it really is. I find it hilarious.

Anyone watched Marco Polo? 6 episodes in and it's decent but I actually can't stand Marco Polo himself. The other stories and characters are quite good though.

I've seen a few episodes on E4 flicking through the channels in the middle of the night. It is indeed a silly show and I think it's one of it's charms. I've enjoyed what I've seen so far.

I finished season 1 of Man in the high castle. It becomes way too deus ex machina/lucky/spiritual near the end.

The Leftovers is a slow paced show, especially since it tends to have episodes which are just focused on a single character. It's all worth it though.

If anything, the first season bounces back at the end with strong last two episodes after a slow paced middle part of the season. Not sure why you thought that it became that at the end.

I watched the first episode of American Crime Story. Looks good, but Travolta's plastic face is really really distracting.

I watched the Kevin Can Wait pilot today, as a big Kevin James/King of the Queens fan I quite liked it. The TV/movie snobs will no doubt slaughter it though :p

He acts in the exact same way as he did as Doug (which is a plus for me, others hate it) - it's basically as if Doug Heffernan left Carrie, got new job, new familly and new friends.
