Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Just watched the first EP , it was OK.
Worth watching for Dutch , she is just

It grows on you. Not great scifi by any means, but fun enough popcorn scifi with some decent character development and world-building.

Will give this B5 thing another go due to the rave reviews here.

Watch Farscape, @pauldyson1uk , it is a-grade scifi. No point in rewatching something or watching any of this new stuff if you have a classic like that still unwatched.

Have a huge backlog of things to see, yet, thought of B5 re-watch excites me the most. Have to find some time...
Same here, I have 300+ gigs of a backlog to watch

OK I will give it a watch.

Yeah, Farscape's very cool too. Also starts a bit awkward, so to say, first season can be a bit off-putting. But stick with it, each season being better than the last one.

Among current sci-fi shows, I really enjoyed the second season of 12 Monkeys. Even in the first season, it's very different from the original movie (after the pilot which seemed to be following the same story as the movie). But in the second season, it entirely becomes its own thing and it's nothing like the movie. And I mean that in a good way because if it just became an extended remake of a classic sci-fi movie, it would have been pointless. For people who enjoy sci-fi with time travel/different timelines, I think it's definitely worth a try.

Quality show no doubt. Though I like to separate between actually space scifi and alternative scifi like 12 monkeys.

Yea I know, I just felt like mentioning since the page was dominated by sci-fi show conversation.

Among the three space sci-fi shows on right now (Expanse, Killjoys, Dark Matter), obviously Expanse is the best out of the bunch. Dark Matter is really enjoyable too despite the low production values (although season 2 has definitely improved the look of the show quite a bit). Not really a fan of Killjoys which IMO tries too hard to be like other, better space sci-fi shows of the past, but it lacks the quality in writing.

Just started Braindead (or Brain Dead). Avoided it at first because I thought it was a peter jackson remake but it's actually pretty good. Works as a US political drama (budget shutdown) but with bugs from space that make people's heads explode and are (probably?) taking over. Funny too, without really trying hard to be. The only shit thing is the recap for (presumably) each episode being in song form. That's shite.

never watched a single episode.

It was good back in the day for Sunday evening viewing. The new series episode 1 was quite good, the missus liked it which is a bonus, and means I won't be watching reality shite whilst it's on at least.

The talking about all the sci-fi above has piqued my interest, so I've started Battlestar Galactica via Amazon prime.

But I can't find any convenient way to watch Babylon 5 online. Would I have to buy the disc set or just use 'other means'? Not too keen on either...

Edit: via Hulu

If you do torrents , I have an invite to Torrent Day, you can get the whole thing on there but it is 75 gigs and then you need the films, but if you want it the invite is yours.

Anyone seen the Last ship?

I've really enjoyed it so far, a few silly bits & things I feel were mistakes.
Certainly not a top tier show but it's got me hooked.

Currently half way through s2.

S1 was pretty strong & I think the ending set up very well for s2.
First episode of s2 was excellent.

Episode 2 on the other hand.. I feel was rushed, it was a very good episode but I was disappointed they ended the plot with grandison and the rebels so quickly, it felt like a finale.
the build up & then boom it was over.
I honestly thought they could of used that plotline for most of the season.

As the new plot with the 'Immunes taking over Europe & now coming for America' is a tad fecking stupid. I really liked S1 with Ruskov
As highly trained as these guys are protrayed, I can't take them seriously. It's poorly done, I do think they've protrayed the British baddies poorly.
Especially the brother, someone that well trained, You'd expect him to be a little bit more grounded & not a fecking cry baby.

Overall, Its a solid show, some questionable decisions with the plotlines which was a shame as it had alot of potential.

I recommend the first series of Broadchurch, not normally my cup of tea, but really enjoyed it.

Don't watch the second series though got two episosdes in and gave up cos it was just silly
