Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Quarry reminds me of Banshee a bit. Maybe it's just the entire setting but I can't explain it but it has a Banshee sort of feel to me and looks promising.

I'm looking forward to checking this one out! Greg Yaitanes being director and exec producer probably helps make it feel like Banshee too as he was an exec there and directed several episodes too.

Low-budget Vikings with bad actors, decorations and screenplay. Reminds me of the 80's fantasy movies
It's better than Vikings. Bad actors? Not at all. Worse production values? Yes because Vikings is one of the best looking shows on TV. Nothing really wrong with the writing either, it's certainly stronger than Vikings.

I think the showrunners/execs are the same as Banshee. But I think Quarry will be more serious and grounded in realism than Banshee was. Either way, I'm really looking forward to it too. The author of the books also wrote Road to Perdition, which was adapted into a pretty good movie.

To each his own, I guess. I found the main character (the actor who played him) absolutely appalling and at times screenplay looked like a teenage boy wrote it.
Vikings are not as good as they were at the beginning but it's not a contest to me. I checked at the rotten tomatoes and both shows have a surprisingly high rating though.

Not going to argue about the low budget but bad acting and shit screenplay is what turned me off Vikings. Surprised some here like it so much.

The Last Kingdom, on the other hand, for all its faults is quite watchable.

That's the show's only redeeming value, as far as I can tell. There are plenty of things wrong with Vikings starting with the guy playing the main character who has facial expressions of a stroke victim and acting ability of an Ashton Kutcher's school of acting graduate.

I didn't have a problem with the lead actor. His character is supposed to be brash and young (character is supposed to be a 19 year old or something) so I felt that the actor played him the right way while also showing some maturity by the end of the first season. I'm surprised that you're criticizing the screenplay of The Last Kingdom while defending Vikings which has far more simplistic dialogue.

Vikings used to be a very good show but it has declined a bit. Some of the characters keep repeating the same character arcs and the show has added a completely unnecessary set of characters and plotlines (the whole Wessex storyline). The first season of The Last Kingdom reminded me of early Vikings season with its pacing and the emphasis on the identity crisis theme (Uthred being torn between Saxons and Danes mirrors Vikings' Athelstan).

 I actually enjoy Travis Fimmel's performance as Ragnar but I understand that it's a bit eccentric and not everyone would like it. Vikings has its fair share of issues though, especially now.

Currently watching a old Tv Show called "Millenium" (1996-1999)

"A former FBI profiler with the ability to look inside the mind of a killer begins working for the mysterious Millennium Group."

Starring Lance Henriksen. It is really good, especially if you are into serial killer stuff, I've read that they dwelve into supernatural and biblical stuff in season 2 \ 3 for the main story arch. I am currently on episode 4 of season 1, three seasons in total.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115270/?ref_=tt_rec_tti

It get's really high ratings, 8.1 on IMDB and 8.8 on TV.com, and I think it is quality. Really dark and gritty. Lance Henriksen is also perfect in the role.

The soundtrack is also a thing of beauty. Massive attack, Rob Zombie etc.

You gays should watch this. It is really good.

It is hard to acquire, so if you need a hand give me a PM.

Not really defending Vikings, it was more of a criticism of The Last Kingdom, which was hard to watch for me - I see that many here disagree. The quality of screenplay in Vikings dropped at some point, no question about it

Broadchurch Season Two - if you have seen the first. If you haven't, then do it.
I really enjoyed the first one, however felt the second was quite underwhelming. The past case story didn't grip me at all, same with the court scenes I just didn't care much about anything going on there.

How was the last season of The Walking Dead. Felt the previous one or two dragged out and didn't bother catching with the latest.
- Now, Fear The Walking Dead feels fresher and doesn't look too locked on whatever made walking dead feel so. It may be just down to that I just started it, but it's nice not knowing where it's headed

There's a show called Justified that not as many seem to have heard of, but it was top tier entertainment for me,
Boyd Crowder has to go down as one of the most charismatic villains/rogues ever on tv.
8.6 on IMDB, 6 seasons.

It was good entertainment, especially the early seasons with the Boyd/Givens family/old lady crime boss arcs. Though I'm partial due to my original hillbilly upbringing.

It is, indeed, a great show. Probably got a bit weaker close to the end but still highly watchable.

One of the best shows of all time IMO, perfect ending too. It was never a hugely popular show but it had a decent fanbase and FX allowed it to end on its own note.

Most of the Walter Presents shows that I've watched are good rather than great (a level below the likes of Borgen, Spiral, Romanzo Criminale, The Wire, Sopranos, The West Wing etc). Pick so far would probably be Magnifica 70 or perhaps Deutschland 83. Currently getting towards the end of Beauty and the Baker, and similarly, The Out-Laws which is being shown on Channel 4. Others I've watched are The Border, The Hunter, Spin (2 series), Locked up, Match Day, Blue Eyes, 10.

Going to try Cenk Batu once I've finished watching Narcos series 2.

I like Killjoys, thought it would be shit but it is quite okay.

Could also be that I am just starving for some SciFi.

on my to watchlist.

It is good popcorn type SciFi, sort of like FireFly if you remember that show. Of course not as good, since FireFly is the best SciFi show ever imo.

It is the best of the two newest scifi shows from SyFy Channel. The other one is Dark Matter, which tries to be too clever.

Dark Matter is another on my list and Babylon 5 is the best Sci-Fi show ever :)

I see your point and agree to a point.
Season 1 was a bit hit and miss, season 2 and 3 are just perfect.
Galactic , I presume you mean the new ones, the ending totally spoilt it for me.

Yeah the 2003 one, the last seasons were bad but 1-3 were scifi perfection.

Do we get more of a big history arch in B5 season 2-3? I like main stories, not just ep by ep.

B5 is one whole story in 5 seasons, the eps are part of the bigger story.
If you can get past season 1, it will be worth it, my only fault is the way the Shadow War ended, but I think it was more to do with a writers strike and or money problems at the time, bt it was done pretty well.

Only got 3-4 eps left of season 1, might try to get through them and start fresh with s2.

Have you seen Farscape? That is space opera at it's finest.

have you got the films also, they play a big part in the story, you need to slot them in the seasons.
This is the order I watch the seasons and slot the films in.

Will give it another go then.

Farscape imo is one of the classic "on a spaceship, in actual space" scifi shows like Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and some of the Star Treks (some would also add Stargate but imo it isn't worthy, any of them.)

Farscape is a bit more goofy than the rest of them, it tries to play more on the whole space opera theme.
