Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Those shows are quality.

The office US

And the best of the lot, Arrested Development.

Love those comedies with stories and storylines going on. Agree on them not being extremely funny though, but still way more engaging than run of the mill comedies.

Season 1 of PLL done, was decent. Think it's amazing how they managed to squeeze in what seemed like 50 different songs into the Pilot.

The Night Of, from what I can remember, seemed a massive carbon copy of the Criminal Justice so far, but I'm hoping it's more like The Office US in that it's just the pilot that's mostly identical and it now moves more in it's own direction....I mean given it's 10 episodes compared to 5, that should be the case. Criminal Justice ended up being a bit of a naff Prison Drama at times.

So The Night Of...not really impressed so far. A bit too many coincidences for my liking. I'll continue to watch it though, there seems to be potential there and it's HBO.

It's also immersion breaking when you see yet another actor in a crime drama that you grew to know originally via The Wire.

Bosch was really bad about that...they even had Mac's crazy dad that never blinks from It's Always Sunny whom I could not divorce from that role.

An oldie, but Jericho is okay for a summer 'filler' show. Fairly highly rated, and much better than some of the tosh on at the minute. Only two seasons so you can get through it quick.

This takes me back, I was really into it at the time but I doubt I'd enjoy it as much if I saw it today.

Stranger Things, watched first episode and liking it, got the 80's vibe all over.

Saw the pilot and just couldn't stick with it. Was too American and acting didn't seem great.

Summer lull atm. trying to fill some time.

Just started bingeing on "The Americans" finished season one, was OK, starting season two now … worth sticking with it?

Also, someone recommended "Preacher" … any thoughts?

Side note: Anyone seen Undressed yet or going to watch Naked Attraction on C4 tonight?

Preacher is quality. Stranger Things is also a must if you haven't seen it. If you like Star Trek I highly recommend Star Trek Enterprise which for some reason is the most disliked Star Trek series, but which I would class as one of the best. Watching it at the moment and besides DS9 it is the only Trek series I've really enjoyed. Then again I am not a proper Trekkie.

That's a fecking T-Shirt right there!

Cheers for the heads-up! I'll give Stranger Things a go!

Has been there been a second episode of The Night Of? I keep reading reviews of it but I haven't come across it yet!

Just watched the Season 4 finale of Wentworth and it's completely ruined my day. I don't know how I manage to feel so devastated by TV shows at times.

I find it a bit tame. Mildly interesting but nothing remotely gripping, which is odd given it's a thriller.
It's a character driven drama first and foremost. There are thriller/suspense elements but that's not really what it is about.

All caught up with Kingdom now, it's an excellent, highly underrated show. For those who don't know, it's a premium cable quality drama on a channel (Directv Audience Network) that barely anyone watches (and hence, the show has a very small viewer base). The story is about a MMA trainer/gym owner and his family/circle. There is MMA action in the show but the show is more about the characters and their personal conflicts. The lead is Frank Grillo, who some might recognize from The Purge movie sequels and Captain America (Crossbones).

Just watched Last Chance U on netflix. Its a reality doco thing that follows a team during a season in US college gridiron. Im not a gridiron fan, have hadly ever watched any games but loved this. Binge watched it from start to finish. If you like seeing behind the scenes stuff about sport etc this has been really well done.

Not sure if anyone's recommended this, but just finished Master of None on netflix and thought it was great. Very chilled/funny show.

Aziz Ansari's the main guy in it/co-creator, other co-creator is a writer from Parks and Rec.

Like what i'm seeing from "The Night Of" so far. I really like John Turturro.

It's probably been mentioned a few times before, but I'd recommend watching The Wire. It's absolutely brilliant, and no other series come close IMO. It can seem a bit slow in during the first three-four episodes, but then it really gets going. I've probably watched it four times.

Besides that, I can recommend The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Oz, Fargo and Game of Thrones off the top of my head. Oh, and OJ: Made in America, even though that's a documentary.

Anybody who have watched some of the series I've mentioned, who can recommend something I might like based on them?

Hannibal, The Last Kingdom, Peaky Blinders, Animal Kingdom, 11.22.63. Kind of listing random shows but they're in a similar genre.

True Detective season 1 is great. And you should watch Narcos.

Thanks. Gonna do a bit research and hopefully start watching one of them soon!

Brilliant suggestions, but I've actually seen both of them :D
