Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

The whole 86 episodes thing is putting me off. Does it maintain its quality to the end?
For sure my friend. You won't even realise how great it is till you've finished because you will have found yourself binging it.

I love the film , I hope the series is just has good, but to be honest I have my doubts.

I'm really looking forward to this. At least the cast is fecking brilliant. Hopefully it means the script is top notch.

I loved Westworld (and Futureworld). Creepy, tense and funny.

It seems HBO's version gonna be a bit darker... we'll see.

Outlander. I'm just into session two now and its really good imo.

If you like adventure and a bit of history, these shows are quality entertainment, in my view:

1. Rome
2. Spartacus: War of the Damned (first season only)
3. Spartacus:Gods of the Arena
4. Black Sails
5. Marco Polo
6. The Last Kingdom (only first season is out, pretty solid).
Chose to start Rome, reviews seemed decent and I am about 6 episodes in and now I am kind of bored. It is good but not great and is very slow. Does it get any better or is it a case of me not liking the first season meaning me not liking all of it?

keep watching man, second part of the season is brilliant. The whole season is brilliant, but if the second part bores you, then something is wrong with your taste. :D

ps. maybe try re watch the season from the beginning. Sometimes when there are many characters you need to familiarize with them first.

Yeah, it's kind of like Deadwood in that respect...and it needed more seasons.

Though I hear there's a movie in the works to remedy that for Deadwood.

Really? I stopped watching when the amount of male nudity and unwarranted sex-scenes became overwhelming, it's like a soft porn historical fan-fiction.

I'm enjoying it. Did you finish season 1?
No, I think I stopped at 12 or 13 episode, smth like that. Does it get better? I don't have anything against the sex scenes when they are crucial to the plot or to depicting of the atmosphere (like in Rome or GoT), but here it's just nudity and unneccesary long sex scene without any motivation

Yes it does towards the end and I kind of got why it was so graphic. But I warn you it's a what the hell kinda thing. Maybe you saw the part I'm talking about though. Where he's captured?

Season two hasn't been anything like as sexual.

Have many people watched Limitless? Personally apart from a couple of dodgy episodes I think it's been great.

Fargo (FX) was far better than I thought it'd be. Right up there with The Americans as their best drama. Billy Bob killed it.

Now GoT is almost over and I hear True Detective 3 is on the back-burner, so I'm a bit bummed. Maybe I'll do a remastered Wire binge? Slim pickings.

Anyone seen the new show "Braindead"? It is currently 3 episodes in.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4877736/

A government employee discovers that the cause of the tensions between the two political parties is a race of extraterrestrial insects eating the brains of the politicians.

Watched all of Luther recently. Very watchable show. Idris  Ruth Wilson

Luther's great. Line of Duty is better though and similar, though whilst they have some great actors none quite meet Idris and Ruth Wilson.

It's a bit like the film Margin Call, if you've seen that, but with less consistently good acting, and some poor subplots (which was easy to avoid for Margin Call that was a 2 hour film and not a 10 hour show).

It's ok, but some of it is very shoddy (some of the dialogue is dreadful) and at times it drags a bit. But Giamatti, Lewis and Maggie Siff are all three very good and reason enough to give it a good chance. If you're hooked by the storyline, you'll feel the need to pursue despite its flaws (which was my case).
Watched the first three episodes today, seems decent, but I think I'm going to prioritize other shows for the time being. Out of curiosity, in your opinion, which episode does it really come into prominence?

To be perfectly honest, I never felt there was an episode when it 'came into prominence', I thought it was overall a steady show throughout but can't remember any particular stand out episodes. @Rado_N liked it and maybe he has a different opinion.

Yea I don't think there was a single episode where I thought it got going, I enjoyed it from the pilot.

So just finished catching up on Gomorra and now need something new to watch.

I basically want a gripping, dark thriller type show.

Was thinking of either The Leftovers or The Americans.

Leftovers is a captivating watch, especially the second season.

I watched the pilot of Americans last night and enjoyed it, Keri Russel is stunning.

Feck it, started Pretty Little Liars. I know, it's pretty poor technically, but it's quite watchable for now.

All or Nothing: A Season with the Arizona Cardinals just popped up on Amazon Prime. I'm not into American Football but the show is pretty good.

What's so good about Six Feet Under by the way?
Most any drama series from HBO that lasted more than a couple seasons is good. It's the best of American television.

Rome and Deadwood were also rather good, even though they didn't last long. Rome was too expensive I think, and I don't remember why Deadwood was cut off...

Just finished watching the man in the high castle and thought it was very good indeed.
I think I got half way through the 3rd episode, I had to go out or something so turned it off and I've just never had any desire to go back to it. It felt like they failed to come up with a story to make the most of what is a very interesting premise.

Considering what's happening in UK polotics at the moment, watch The Thick of it. It is rated 8.9 on IMDB and stars Peter Capaldi, the best spin doctor in Westminster

She's an idiot. I know she's in the Cabinet but look, that's like being disabled at a football match. She's very close to the action but hardly likely to score a goal

......how is that 'offensive'?!?
