We will have to see how this plays out however I fully expect if Antony ends up being arrested then the club will suspend him. He will be treated just as Greenwood was.

That said Arsenal have continued to support and play Partey and he’s still on bail for a number of sexual offences against different women. The NDA has prevented reporting on this though and from much being published in the mainstream media.

Charges being dropped and something not meeting the threshold for being charged are two entirely different things.

Greenwood has a sound recording and bruised and bloody picture of his girlfriend which he has no explanation on.

If the same circumstances happens to Antony then he too should be out, if it's a she says he says then it's up to the court.

Photos have been with police for some time and they haven't charged him. They're not the smoking gun you think they are.

Do you think there's any other reason why a full time social media influencer might have gone to the media rather than wait for police investigations to conclude?

People who say things like “x is clearly guilty”, based on nothing more than what they’ve seen on the internet, tend not to be the kind of people who get picked for jury duty.
 
We should wait and see before condemning him, this is all coming from Brazil. Apparently there was also stuff reported to GMP, who didn't or haven't acted on anything yet.

But, questions must be asked about why this stuff get out to the media before or even during a police investigation.

Either way, this shit rising up again, club needs to do proper due diligence when signing players, background and personal checks etc.

Greenwood was recorded. The photo she provided wouldn't have been admissible in court without a contemporaneous police report. Same for this case.

"Here's a photo of an historic injury and the only poof I have that it was caused in the way I claim is the fact I claim it" doesn't come close to meeting threshold for evidence in criminal case


This is why these things are played out in the media and in magazine interviews and she isn't waiting for police to include their inquiries. It's great evidence for a civil trial which is where I suspect she wants this to hurry up and get to

So clear that the CPS had to discontinue prosecution charges.
 
He needs to be suspended to avoid another PR nightmare for the club IMO. Do it with an open and honest dialogue with the player about why it needs to be done etc.

If he doesn't get charged with anything i'm sure this will be over within a couple of weeks.

If we don't suspend him and shit starts to get real then the club could be in for a tough ride.

They just need a clause that if you're involved in "conduct unbecoming" (rape, domestic violence, racist remarks etc) that brought negative influences to the club you'll be terminated without penalty and be forced to compensate the remaining of your contract.

Normally they have this clause for every high profile endorsement

I don't get bashing the club for its employees being allegedly stupid/abusive at home. Do we have cameras at their house and weren't doing anything about it?
How the feck is the club at fault here if its claimed that a player is being allegedly abusive?
 
If there's video evidence of him actually committing a crime then he should go...and to prison too. If it's just words from people accusing him and pictures of taped fingers then it should be ignored until evidence is provided or until he's charged.

This is my issue. Absolutely nothing new has happened aside from known allegations been reiterated in a media interview.

If he's charged then it's different. Then a threshold has been reached to justify suspension.
 
The inability to separate this from the Greenwood case is genuinely staggering.

The clauses would need to be in our insurance so that we can protect the transfer fees we paid. Just putting them in player contracts won't do anything.
