Not in the match day squad even for today
We've got almost everybody back fit, and there's Mazraoui and Malacia on the bench who can play wing back.

I'd expect him to start in the Europa on Thursday with Amad rested.

Viktoria Plzen 1:2 Man Utd New
Despite his awful shooting from range. He was actually decent and helped out the team more in attack than Rashford or Zirksee.

Yeah, I don't think it's any coincidence that Amad came alive when he had somebody else on that side of the pitch who can trap the ball and keep it under pressure to play off of.

Him, Hojlund and Mount all added a lot more intensity to our game than the players they replaced.

Looked decent when he came on. Crap in front of goal but at least managed to place a pass

Those might have been the worst consecutive shots I've ever seen a professional football player take in a row

I mean, he's shit but at least he works hard on the pitch.

He works hard and seems to actually care. I’d take him at rwb over Dalot all day if Amad plays more centrally at the weekend.

Comically ran the ball out of play on the left and then let the ball go under his foot on the right. Also did his trademark curling shot over the bar. Was alright after that but I'd rather not see him get minutes outside of the Europa League.

I can see a world where he is an okay squad option for us. Given the fee and wages it's horrendous business but he can have his uses.

The reality is that he didn't cost us £30m, so it is a little hard to just see him as that.

Changed the game when he came on by creating the chance that led to our first goal, should have had an assist straight after as well but Hojlund failed to finish.

As frustrating as he is, he has a bit of fight and does work hard for the team, which is more than some others.

We need 2 wing backs either side, a defensive option and an attacking option, Antony should be one of the attacking wing back options. He always puts a shift in at least.

Rashford on the other hand, is no use in any position and doesn't even work hard.

He outperformed my expectations today, actually.
Still not a first team player at all (my God, those shots xD ), but he at least had some intensity.
More than you can say about Rashford, who doesn't even want to play anymore - or so it seems.
I pray the day comes, and he can turn himself around and play decent ball.

He showed some nice interplay with Amad a few times. He certainly has better shot at WB than he had as a regular wing. Another bonus is that even if his shots reach up to row Z when his position is more withdrawn, now there was only two of them for the better part of a half!

Would be stunned if anybody thinks rashford should be in the team ahead of him. That doesnt mean much, but at least he has some sense of keeping the ball and knowing what he's trying to do. Linked well with diallo

Actually not the worst idea, especially if we are meant to dominate matches. Against City, I’d go with a more defensively solid player.

I think we should do this even against teams like City. Amad, Antony and Mazraoui is a pretty solid defensive right side with a good amount of work rate, tenacity, technique and of course ball progression.

His shooting should be studied. It’s amazing how bad it is, every shot ends up in the third tier.

Not that hard to understand why. He leans back, has no power and strikes with his instep, which is basically the three worst actions you can do to actually try to beat a keeper from outside the box.

It doesn't really need that much studying, he snatched at things and mishits them because his confidence is shot to bits.

He had a couple of poor shots way over and wide, but I think he's our best option at RWB if Amad is playing the 10 role.

He did also play 2 key passes. But still his decision making was under par like when we broke and he decided to shoot instead of cross the ball at the end into Amad who would have been free.

Missed the second half but I can see how he would benefit from having a player (Amad) infront of him to link up with on the right. Previously we were asking him to beat a man often without overlapping support and he's lacked the speed or guile to do it regularly. Bit less pressure on him to provide attacking outputs from RWB but he would still need to provide his fair share to prove his worth as a squad option.

If he was a £30 mill player you could say he was ok, but at his fee he should be the second coming of Ronaldo. Needs moving on

If you forget the fee and any expectations of him ever been a top player, then you can just view him as a a half decent option off the bench for this season, until hopefully he can be sold in the summer.

That's about as much as a compliment that I can muster for him.

The problem with Antony in a nutshell. No matter what he does or goes on to achieve he'll always be judged as an £85m footballer, which he never will be. I've forgiven it as a terrible mistake made in the past under previous ownership but many fans and certainly the media will never let it go. Unfair on a player that always gives his best in every game but it's the reality.

I think it's unfair to judge him based on his fee. He doesn't have any control over that.

Thought he did well enough when he came on. I think the wingback role will suit him. At least he puts in effort.

Why aren’t people mentioning the 3v1 he butchered by passing to Garnacho to early? Thought he was really poor when he came on. Amad and Mount deserve way more credit for the turnaround.

Not that hard to understand why. He leans back, has no power and strikes with his instep, which is basically the three worst actions you can do to actually try to beat a keeper from outside the box.

Yet he’s scored some cracking goals and hit the woodwork numerous times with these fundamental technical flaws you describe.

Isn’t it much more likely he’s snatching at shots because his confidence is at an all time low?

Would he be useful at LWB? It seems Amorim doesn't mind his wing backs inverting, but I wonder if Antony would be better suited on the left.

Bar fecking up the 3 on 1 chance by passing it too soon and taking the wrong option. Amad should have received it
