Recall him and give him a run on the right.
So we've come to this.Recall him and give him a run on the right.
It it hasn't worked out for him here for 2.5 years be sure it will never work.Recall him and give him a run on the right.
True, but admittedly they are most likely at a higher level than United at the moment. So we've come to this.
He's found his level, let him just enjoy his time there. Best for all parties he does well and then move on.

Are you sure we currently are at a higher level than Betis? So we've come to this.

Pep's setup with City when they won the CL (that 3241) was a very different positional setup to what he played at Barcelona, even if the principles of possession football were the same. Similarly when Klopp was at Dortmund, his teams did a lot of work through their AM's, first Goetze then Reus, and a beast in Lewandowski, whereas at Liverpool his best teams involved laborer midfields, a 'creative' CF in Firmino and attacking primarily via his two wide men.
Even if you maintain the principles of your play, you have to be willing to adapt your setup to what your team needs. Our current setup is getting the best out of absolutely no one, and in some ways is making our weak spots appear even weaker.

While I find that post funny too, Betis are a better team than we are.
Any calls of "hes found his level" means he's too good for us.
Are you sure we currently are at a higher level than Betis?
I agree. It’s a bit of both. We ruin players and don’t really let them shine within the toxic environment that we have. But it may also be the physicality of the league. One of the worst signings in EPL history turns into a completely different player three matches into a loan spell.
We are a club that simply ruins players.
It’s like people don’t remember the Lingard-West Ham loanSo we've come to this.

From the few highlights I’ve seen, he seems to be doing the same things, just in a more permissive environmentI agree. It’s a bit of both. We ruin players and don’t really let them shine within the toxic environment that we have. But it may also be the physicality of the league.
What is our level? What a brilliant finish. Glad he's doing well, looks like he's found his level, guaranteed money in the summer then, everyone's happy.
That's harsh tbh. Lingard was a lot more proven. It’s like people don’t remember the Lingard-West Ham loan
Higher than Betis. In terms of difficulty of the league and the pressure playing for the club. What is our level?
I highly doubt we can and we shouldn't.Are we able to recall him from a contract point of view. Arent those recall options generally set for the winter transfer window like Chelsea did with Chalobah? Or can we call back a player any time we want.
It’s like people don’t remember the Lingard-West Ham loan
I read on Sky yesterday that he is very happy here and would like to stay with us until the end of his contract. Ideally, he would like to play more but the limited playing time isn't of much concern to him as he loves it so much in Manchester.Should have also loaned them Casemiro.
So good that loan they decided he wasn’t worth buying.
Everyone knew it was a purple patches, including West Ham, but feck me United fans pretend he turned into Pele.

He is our Gareth Bale, without the CL winning contributions. The anti Di Maria.
I agree with you that United have been adrift for 10 years without a fixed course, but what ruins the players is the price that United pays for them. Antony is not worth more than 30/40 million in the best of cases, he is a technically good player with good dribbling, but I can tell you that players like those do not cost 100M! The same will happen with Højlund, he is not an 80M striker. It is not that the league is inferior to the Premier League and that is why he is triumphing there, it is that at Betis they have a coach who knows how to get the most out of the players and exploit their potential and I am telling you this as a Sevilla FC fan and a passionate United follower for 20 years. One of the worst signings in EPL history turns into a completely different player three matches into a loan spell.

Ignorance. Maybe it is easier to slag off a league that has dominated entire 21st century, at international level, in the CL and in Uefa Cup/EL, rather than admit there is a huge institutional problem at UnitedWhy people talking like La Liga is some garbage league?

Harsh on Lingard or harsh on Antony? That's harsh tbh. Lingard was a lot more proven.
I can only speak for myself: I only saw it as a purple patch and wanted him gone (sadly the United brass didn't feel the same way.) And in the same way, I see Antony's first 4 games as a purple patch. If he starts shredding the likes of Madrid and Barca, it might cause a rethink, but in all likelihood, he has found his level, and that level is nowhere near good enough for where we're aiming to go.So good that loan they decided he wasn’t worth buying.

We definitely have an institutional problem, but do you honestly think that's what was holding Antony back? I'd say our institutional problem is what led us to overpay for him and give him a wage that was nowhere near what he deserved at the time. It's hardly surprising that a sense of entitlement and greediness kicked in for him (ex. his reaction to being played at RB, his refusal to put in a cross with his right and instead continually go for glory with the most predictable of poundland-Robben attempts.) He has looked absolutely pedestrian for 2+ seasons with us, so unless something drastic changes, I'd say his performances with Betis are more indicative of the level of opposition he's facing rather than his being held back by United.Ignorance. Agreed. He is one of the most one footed player I can remember seeing. Especially for the money we paid. Although he did put in a reasonable amount of effort.
Hopefully the loan goes well for him. But not sure if he has a future at OT.
"Amad gets a fat contract"It is such a United thing…
Rashford gets fat new contract after 1 good season then turns to shit.
Sancho fails miserable after big transfer.
Antony fails miserably after big transfer.
Amad performs well.
Amad gets a fat contract.
All 3 underperforming wide players moved on.
Amad gets injured for the rest of the season.
Cue said player (Antony) scoring worldies every match.
Gotta laugh.
