Antony £85 million fee with wages of £200k

Mount £60 million fee with wages of £250K

Safe to say Antony wins that argument
He's not on anything close to that.

The Athletic confirmed he's on around £105k per week, which is presumably after the 25% reduction after we didn't get CL, which means that with the CL bonus he's on around ~£140k.

Betis are paying 84% of his wages plus bonuses according to The Athletic, no way would they do that if he was on £200k.

It would make more sense alright considering he was on a reported £20,000 at Ajax

Antony, as you’ve been shown now, earns less than half of Mount, he had 96 appearances and 5435 minutes. In his first season as a regular he scored away at City, scored an important goal v Barca at home, finished 3rd and started in a league cup final win for United. Also scored a big goal v Liverpool last year.
At 80.75m guaranteed he cost £14,857 /
per minute.

Mount has 32 appearances, 1132 minutes. Has 1 single goal against the mighty Brentford. There’s not another single thing of note I can post.

By the penny Mount pisses it. Even if we discount the huge wage difference, Mount currently (taking into account a 55m fee as there’s no chance we/he is hitting the 5m of add ons) has cost us £48,586 per minute.

And just for the giggles… in June this year, Mason will have been paid a whopping 26 million quid for this contribution.

So yeah, you may wanna rethink that.

Antony is just a meme at this stage , at least Mount will fit Amorim’s system once fit.

Antony has proven to be a nothing footballer while Mount has just been injured and the jury is still on him (playing wise) Granted Mount needs a sustainable amount of time match fit

We have no idea what Mount will fit, he’s been absolutely shite here and never available.
Doesn’t matter how you spin it. One player at least gave us one good season, the other can barely string two games together and when he has, he’s done nothing.
Mount is fast becoming an injury meme.

I’d argue Sancho was a worse signing too, fecker preferred to play video games than train. Over his time here the lazy sod managed 12 goals (same as Antony) and a single assist more. Was paid a feck tonne more too despite his utterly dogshit attitude. Another player that simply took the piss out of this club & it’s fans.

They were both ill advised signings and both need to be taken off our books. Antony has however contributed more on the pitch in a United shirt than Mount has.

It must be the different league, because it was far more than just a confidence thing with us, for me he just didn't have any of the attributes that you'd want to see from a so called top player.

It was both. In his first season he was decent; nothing special but if we'd got him for a relatively small amount nobody would have been too stressed about him. But everything went to utter shit in his second season where he could barely do anything right, and that seemed to be confidence related.

The problem is united, when we start operating like a football club and have things in place for players like every other club, things will improve.

We haven’t had a good play style in a decade.

Was it just a straight loan to Betis? So we have to actually put him up for sale in the summer?

He's a good player technically, always has been. What he struggles with above all is the physicality of the EPL.

That's why we're now signing players who are bigger in stature, shipping out Malacia for a unit like Dorgu.

Showing why it was the right decision to loan him out, already played more minutes in La Liga than the Premier League this season.

He has started off really well with us and Ajax as well so hopefully it doesn’t tail off. He’s completely unsuited to the Premier League but can have a good career elsewhere.

I can’t see him being sold this summer but maybe a loan with an obligation similar to what we’ve done with Sancho is achievable if he can maintain his form.

Whatever happens it was a disaster of a signing, but If we could by some miricle get enough money to clear his debt off the books in the summer then it'd be a massive result for us.

The last thing we want is him back in the summer, and us having part fund a series of loans until 2027,

Its also sometimes easier when the opposition players don't have experience of playing against you or bothered to pull up footage from a different league to understand your movements. That's why sometimes the second season is harder.

I genuinely don't think the door is closed on his United future, like it is for Rashford and Sancho. If he does well then I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the fold for us. Also, I know he's become a meme, but I think there's a player in there. I enjoyed his first season in the Premier league, it just went to shit after that (along with everything else).

Doubt Amorim would want him

The door isn't closed, but it is hard to imagine that Antony himself would want to join a PL team again. He was severely found out in the premier league and while his success in Spain isn't assured by any means, the fact is that he can't cut it in the PL for sure.

Why? It's not like he froze him out like Rashford. He continued to use him from the bench right up until he left.
He did use him off the bench, with very little impact.

Amorim doesn’t want him ….ie: he’s now out on loan

If Amorim was interested in using him, he would've done it with far more regularity before Antony left.

Antony's only suitability in this system would've been as a wing back and Amorim insisted on using Mazraoui and Dalot ahead of him in those positions nearly every game. I think that tells you everything you need to know.

Happy he’s doing well. He deserves a fresh start and hopefully we get a good fee for him.

Who are PL superstars that flopped in La Liga?

I can think of Coutinho but can't remember much else.

Who are then the La Liga superstars that flopped in the PL?
