Reminds me a lot of Mata. Not too pacy, great technique, good eye for a pace. A tad too light for the Premier League?

That's true. Think we have a good chance of signing him, IMO.I think he would do well here. In terms of size, its not much of a hinderance for the likes of Coutinho, Sterling et al.

Don't worry I'll create a new thread when the summer transfer window is on and make people forget about this thread. Same I did with @Sassy Colin with Pogba thread.
Yep, Griezmann is actually quite fast both with the ball and without it, in addition to being the best player around on beating the offside trap.Comfortably quicker than Mata. Ain't that right @JPRouve .

For gods sake the window just closed and this thread is active now?

Don't think so. Mostly in a 2-striker system next to Mandzukic/Jackson/Vietto/Torres.Really like him as a player, great movement, finishing, and a hard worker. At the same time he's not really the kind of player I see excelling in the type of team I'd like to see us become - there doesn't seem to be much space for him in a 4-3-3 except wide, which nullifies his main qualities, and I think he's more of a second striker than a number 10, which would require us to go 4-4-2 in some form. These are the type of problems with him that led Deschamps to pushing Pogba back in order to accommodate him up front with Giroud.
Has he played at all up front on his own for Atletico? If so, how has he managed?
I hope our club don't have this attitude. This is when we need to start putting in the groundwork for his transfer and it's exactly the same drills for the muppets. 10 months to get this happening.
Still most of the comments here are simply going to be discussing the players attributes and not any news media reporting our interest or so.
Fwiw I don't think it will be very likely. Greizmann has been in Spain for some time and clearly likes it there which is why he moved to atletico than other clubs. He is an important player for them and they are CL contenders. Not sure why he will really want to move to us or any other club for that matter unless something changes.
There's a pretty big reason he'd come to us. He's a big United fan. If he moves anywhere, and we want him, we'll get him.Still most of the comments here are simply going to be discussing the players attributes and not any news media reporting our interest or so.

Didn't people say Deschamps had to restrict Pogba to get the best out of Griezmann at the Euros. Is that true and would we not have the same problem if we bought Griezmann
-----------------Ibrahimovic-------------------
Martial----------Griezmann--------Mkhitaryan

Would something like this work
Mourinho is much tactically adept than Deschamp, so if Jose wants him he'll make it work. I wouldn't be surprised if he sticks Micky in the middle and Griezmann has his right sided forward.Didn't people say Deschamps had to restrict Pogba to get the best out of Griezmann at the Euros. Really? How did the French people receive that news?I'm skeptical about that one, he said that he felt more spanish than french. I don't see him leave Spain.
Hopefully Atletico have a shit season. I can't see him staying to be third dog to Real and BarcaI'm skeptical about that one, he said that he felt more spanish than french. I don't see him leave Spain.

YesDidn't Simeone nearly leave this summer? There has to be a certain point where trying to break the Madrid/Barca duopoly starts to become a mental hindrance.
Comparing him with Mata is odd as they are very different players. Griezmann is pacy too unlike MataReminds me a lot of Mata. Not too pacy, great technique, good eye for a pace. A tad too light for the Premier League?

Didn't Simeone want to leave for Inter though? I may be pretty wrong here but I think it was either Inter or the PL that he would only leave for. Maybe he'll take a sabbatical or something, because De Boer has only just gone to Inter, and every worthwhile PL side seems stable for the very near future at least.
I'm not sure if he wanted to leave for Inter or the details of that story. I do remember there being some speculation that his next move would be to Inter as it's a club he likes like Atletico. If he did want Inter then really the owners should just sack De Boer asap for him.Didn't Simeone want to leave for Inter though? When freakin' Stoke is signing undersized cast-offs from other clubs, I'm fairly sure this 'not big enough for the Prem' line can be retired once and for all.The "size being a hindrance" thing is completely over played. Individual players can excel despite being small, the trouble comes when you have a team that is overall smaller than other teams on average. They will be bullied at times and drop points.
Griezmann in a team that contains the likes of Ibra, Pogba, Bailly, Valencia, Smalling, Fellaini, Martial and Rashford (he'll be a unit by next summer) will have no issues.
He did consider his future after the CL finalI don't think it's true, Griezmann said that before signing his contract he called Simeone and he told him that he was going nowhere. I think that it was paper talks.
The 46-year-old Argentine said he was hurting after his side's failure - and then raised doubts about his future at the Vicente Calderon.
"Do I have to continue with Atletico or is it the end of a cycle? I have to think about that," Simeone told reporters.
