Like every managers but he took his decision rapidly apparently and it needs to be said that your quotes are shortly after a lost final.
It was a weird thing to say in public though after a final though. I don't think Simeone will be there for too much longer

No where near as good a Jay Rodriguez - says every Liverpool fan next summer when talking about our clubs confirmed signings. Southampton will be able to retire soon.
Jose now has the financial support and full control on transfers. Are we entering an era where this club can realistically sign anyone in the world? Very exciting if it comes true.

We are the front runners here, we will sign him next summer. Di Marzio will start reporting on it around March/April.

Simeone wanted to leave over the summer, can't take much more heartbreak. Griezmann' comment makes sense, I assume Simeone agreed to stay for this one more season.

Links in nicely with Griezmann's comment that he'll only leave if Simeone leaves, which will be next summer :devil:

Who would Simeone go to? Can't see any of United, City, Chelsea or Pool getting rid of their managers as I think all those teams will do fine, which leaves Arsenal as the only prem option.

Juve?

Or Milan if they've been taken over by then?

He said that it's one of his goals to return to Inter Milan as a coach

Can't see him leaving anytime soon, he did say he wanted to do at least 10 years at Atletico.

I don't know why we weren't in for him when he left Sociedad. He played and scored against us, we could all see his quality, and from what i remember we all wanted him on here. He went for basically peanuts as well.
Pretty sure Moyes vetoed it. He wanted big names like Fabregas, Bale, Ronaldo etc... But we ended up overpaying for Fellaini.

GriezmONn :drool::drool::drool:

Let's just hope Simeone gets bored in his attempt to break the big two, and join some german team or something. PSG perhaps, which would make Antoine leaning towards leaving Madrid.

Can ONly dream, eh? :drool::drool::drool:

I think that's more likely than Paris ending up as part of Germany anyway.

I think Greizmann will just end up following Simeone to whichever club he moves to. Unless it's someone without our spending power.

It's kind of funny that Griezmann admits that Beckham was his favourite player growing up, yet he has such a good relationship with Simeone - the man who got Beckham sent off in the World Cup all those years ago.

If Simeone moves to Italy, Inter for example, why should Griezmann follow him.

Martial up top, Mikhitayan on the right, Griezmann on the left. Pogba in midfield ahead of two others.

No idea whom the two other midfielders should be, but all the Football Manager doyens seem to rate Mensah as one of them. I've not seen enough from him, personally. But I'm willing to believe the hype. We definitely need to strengthen midfield, though. Herrera and Schneiderlin are decidedly midtable level. That frontline wouldn't do enough defending to keep the rest of the team from getting overrun.
hmmmm strange choice there. One of La Liga's regular leading goalscorers and Top scorer in Euro 2016 shunted out to the left for Martial who is still learning the CF position and needs to work on movement and finishing. Might I add Martial has yet to score many goals in his career.

He would be great, but honestly if I had to pick and choose from current Atletico it would be Saul Niguez. He would absolutely kill it in a midfield with Pogba.

This is one of those players where if it goes through, then great I am all for it, but if it doesn't then I really don't care.

Signing him would probably give us the best attack in the world bar MSN at Barca though, so tempting indeed.

I'm not saying he should. Just that there's a chance he'd prefer to follow Simeone to his next club.

Mourinho likes his centreforwards to be physically strong target men... that's Martial. Goals tend to come from the wings or, in the case of Lampard/Ballack, from midfield.

With our current manager, Griezmann fits the profile for an inside forward and Martial fits the profile for a target man. I watched Martial play for Monaco a couple of times and his aerial game is really good. It's something I think we'll take advantage of in the future.

He's good but overrated quite a bit imo. Fast, good movement, good technique with a cracking shot on him but the talk of him being up there with CR7, Suarez, Neymar, I just don't think he's close to that level or ever will be. People seem desperate for the next big thing. But Mahrez for instance showed far more last season than Griezmann ever has for my money and still looked pretty unreal against us this term.

I expect they all collectively jumped off the Eiffel Tower like a bunch of lemmings, either that or they just didn't care
The bold bit made me cry. How can someone even think that having seen both of them play?

Ibra will be here next year so where Rashford plays if we buy Griezmann is unclear.

It will hopefully be a case of which club Rooney is playing for while Rashford continues his tutelage.

I'm pretty sure this is Wayne's last year - but that doesn't solve the issue of having four positions to accommodate five players if you include Griezmann.

That's an absolutely normal position for any club to be in isn't it?

Between injuries and rotation there will be ample games and healthy competition.

Lol I agree with you. Mahrez was great last year granted but Griezmann is a bit special.
