I'm pretty sure this is Wayne's last year - but that doesn't solve the issue of having four positions to accommodate five players if you include Griezmann.
4 positions - 5 players. I think it is the ideal situation especially since all those players bar maybe Zlatan will be very versatile. Plus Zlatan will be here for another year after this at the most so it should be fine especially considering that we should ideally be in the CL next season and looking to win it.

He will be here, he has contract until 2019.

I can easily see a front 3 of Martial Rashford Griezman with Pogba in behind

I think we will ditch him after this year, even if it means buying out his remaining wages. He will break the record at some point this year and that will be that.

Agree with @Raoul, I see an MLS move for him, much like Gerrard/Lampard in recent years. Everybody wins in that scenario.

I'm sure we'll encourage suitors for him but don't know if we would buy him out. Can imagine we would pull a BFS on him and freeze him out (assuming Mourinho doesn't want him)

I agree in that this should be Rooney's last season and he should be replaced by Griezmann. But unfortunately I can't see it happening without us forcing him out with the reason being Rooney's 2018 world cup ambitions. If Rooney were to move to either the US or China, it'd be very difficult for England to continue to select him in the national team. But equally if he were to be informed that he has no first team future at the end of the season, he surely wouldn't risk sitting out most of next season on the bench and risking his place in the world cup squad. He would then want to likely move to another club in Europe. But would any club pay anywhere near what he's earning at the moment? Either way things could get messy at the end of the season for a player who will be a legend of the club.

He said before in a interview that he wears number 7 as Beckham wore it at United. Would be pretty nice to have Griezmann as our new number 7

Half the French contingent are already here, he's a United fan. Can't see us not getting him if he moves.

He's not got the physicality of a Mourinho type player. I think his signing will depend on how we fill out the rest of the front 3. If Rashford or Mikhitaryan can prove to be physically dominant presences, there'll be room enough for a waif like Griezmann.

Griezmann's a quality player, but our current manager clearly values his system more than individuals. Fergie was a rare manager in the opposing sense (as are most others, to be fair).

That's the entire point - Griezmann would help the system.

Possibly as a wide forward. Depends on how Martial develops. I'd love to see the latter as a CF.

would be fecking exciting to have him Ibra and rashford as striker options next year, Ibra still very capable and strong striker at the top about to retire, Griezmann at his best age and rashford just good enough to start games and very promising talent for the future as well.. wouldn't mind him even though I dont consider him as big talent as Suarez for example but he could be at the level of Hazard/Sanchez which is defo good enough but the thing is we just desperately need to kick out Rooney, incredible pain in the ass...

To be fair Chelsea have the likes of Zouma, Kanté and a few Belgian internationals around, in addition to that they have history with French and African players. With the signing of Kanté Chelsea showed strength...

But in this case i can't see him going to Chelsea, United have the better package. Especially Mourinho should give us the edge. Still uncomfortable that Chelsea seem to enter the discussions, only drives up the price, good for le Griez though.

He has a 100 million euros release clause, can't see him leaving for less regardless of the interested clubs.

I agree with you. But the interest of multiple clubs is good for negotiating his wages, signing bonus, media rights and so on.
At the end of the day stuff like that makes him more expensive. But can't see Chelsea getting drawn into it, they seem to have a different strategy these days. Bad thing would be if Griezmann only wants to come to Chelsea, but that's unlikely.

As a serious question, would people prefer us to get Griezmann or Dybala?

Most probably Griezmann, better name and also 'more proven'. Seems to fit much better to England and United.

I would prefer Dybala personally, muppet signing, but Griezmann wouldnt be too shabby either.

Dybala.
Griezmann is more realistic though, due to a combination of factors. But Dybala is an outstanding player that I would love for us to pursue should he be available. Can't see it happening though. Following the sale of Pogba, Juventus are going to want to hold onto their remaining stars for as long as possible, and the cultural background of the player himself means that he's likely to prefer a move to Spain or France.

About Dybala, I read somewhere that barcelona bid €80m and Juve turned that down in a heart beat.

Personally, I think it'll all depend on Zlatan. If he stays for one more season, I don't think we will go for a CF. We will strengthen in other areas like CM, RB, and RW.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how each player performs this season. If Dybala kicks on, he may well be the better buy, given that he is 2/3 years younger. They would both likely cost a similar fee.

its Bayern who should be feared in a race for Griezmann. His love of Simeone and Atlerico probably means he'd never play for Real Madrid. PSG have the cash but their league is weak. Same as Juve in Italy. But Bayern have money and room. Ribery and Robben are soon retiring and Bayern are one hell of an attraction. I feel in England us, Chelsea and City have equal chances of convincing him
But Bayern could blow us all out of the water.....

I can't see Bayern paying €100m for Griezmann.

I think Dybala or Griezmann would shine the most as a deep striker behind a leading striker. Which would mean though that we would have to drop Rooney which doesn't seem to be an option atm.

Get both.

If it's either or I think Griezmann would be my choice for the position behind a leading striker. I think he would be absolutely ace with someone like Zlatan to do lay ups for him coming with pace out of the space between midfield and defense.

Still Dybala would be an amazing choice as well and he very well could be the new Agüero, if he improves his finishing a bit.

Seriously , since when?
I think because he tweets a fair few times about United games/goals (he does it for a lot of teams to be fair) and then just cited Beckham as his one of his idols growing up. His brother is the definite United fan, Antoine probably just has a soft spot for us.

Yeah, I thought he was a Lyon fan?

He said Marseille as a kid and then he moved on from them when he joind Real Sociedad, he loves Real Sociedad because he grew up with them. Beckham is his idol but he has never said that he was a fan of United, people are doing what they did with Pogba and Real Madrid since he said that Zidane was his idol.

Now, his brother is a fan.
