Anthony Martial to Spurs | Bouhafsi : "Bid rejected"

I don't understand those who are talking about Jose hates young talents and not fancy them while we already rejected the bid. Rejecting the bid proves their point wrong but they are twisting it to prove the opposite.

This forum never fails to impress me.

What the feck you talking about proving their point wrong?! Did you see the amount mentioned? Rejected offer nothing to do with twisting their point.

Oh dear! - some Spurs fans are NOT happy at hearing that Martial will NOT be playing for them next season. They WANT WANT WANT, and stamp their feet and get all huffy because DADDY is not giving them what they WANT WANT WANT.

But DADDY can't give them what they WANT WANT WANT because - and contrary to what they've led to believe - DADDY has to deal with other daddies, some of whom couldn't give a stuffed parrot for what DADDY'S little children WANT WANT WANT.

So DADDY'S little children will have to wait until Xmas for their next batch of shiny new toys, even tho' they got tired of the last lot before the end of January had arrived and soon WANTED WANTED WANTED more.

Take your meds glaston

No source buddy but I've seen it quoted several times online tonight. I was guessing the figure was in the region of £35m, but people are saying it's £25m. I have no idea though.

Sincerely doubt even Levy would have the audacity to present such an inappropriate figure to Ed Woodward. More likely that he enquired to Martial's availability and the potential fee to which we may accept. I'm only guessing here, but I'd imagine Ed's reply was something along the lines of "Sure you can have Martial for £1m, plus I want be the guy who cuts the ribbon on the grand opening day of your new super stadium". To which Levy replied "get fecked". Could be wrong of course.

I can imagine Ed Woodward reaction was along these lines when levy bid £25m for martial.....

So you expect us to accept the offer if it was higher ?

Bid for Alli and Rose, combined with tapping them up with prospective wages.

Levy is practically asking for it with his pisstake bids. There is no way in hell you bid £25-35m for Martial in todays market without taking the piss.

I will want Jose out before I'd want Martial out.
What the feck.

This Martial love fest is absurd. He's done feck all for us besides being top scorer in a crap season when we essentially had no other players to score goals.

Mourinho is way more valuable to the club.

I was under the impression our fans wanted to see us win trophies? Starting to think some fans prefer some players to our club sometimes.

Yes, but that's not the way that transfer deals work. Because a club overpays for player X, does not mean that this becomes the immoveable benchmark for all future deals.

It's a valid comparison as that's your record signing. You know so much about transfer deals, you much comprehend that if Spurs bid £35m for Martial - firstly that would have got laughed at by Utd, and secondly you aren't signing anyone you don't have to google. Every club is just going to laugh at your pathetic bids. Probably why Spurs haven't signed anyone this year and your biggest signing was a complete panic buy last year. The genius of Levy!

Appreciate that, but Occam's razor suggests you've just made something up and can't back it up.

£35million + Danny rose would be a fair deal IMO

You waiting for that clown to reveal his imaginary friend?:lol:

Have you never heard of the "transfer oracle" ?

you never get to meet them in person but only a select few get secret messages sent to them on ancient parchment with symbols that only the chosen like Glaston can decipher...

Not waiting for it, my conclusion was obviously that there was no friend and no way for him to substantiate his claim.

I think that's Levys way of telling us to feck of with the Rose offers?

Well like others have said we should go to dele/Kane's agents and say we will pay them 200k a week. Levy will never win against a financial powerhouse like us.

Martial isn't going anywhere. Jose rates him, he's very talented and still young. He still has all the time in the world to improve his game. If he didn't want him he would have got rid to Roma or whoever it was last season or would have used him to get in Perisic like Inter wanted.

Is this a leak at Spurs' end to take the attention away from the Danny Rose debacle and make it look as if Spurs are serious about signing players?

Probably a season, if he wants to do it here, unless he get a new manager.

If after two seasons with Jose, if he still hasn't forced his way into the team given the ability he has, it's on him. Think he just needs to buck up. Our squad has players superior to him now, he isnt going to get the team built around him with balls into his feet all game, needs to be more active.

Given the comments about him working hard in training and the fact that he did look decent in pre-season, I'm hoping he'll get back there.

Most certainly, no one bids £25m for Martial in todays market and expect it to go through.

I say we return the favour to the bald little twat with bids for Alli and Rose with the added spice of some hints towards the players that we'll triple their wages.

Why bid what £25 mill to a club who doesn't need money and prob don't want to sell? Spurs getting desperate perhaps?

Taking attention of the shambles that is their window, probably. Their own players publicly saying they're shite basically and want to move, losing your first team RB and getting feck all in.

I just got an image of Glaston appearing as Obi-Wan Kenobi inside my head, except he was holding a laptop in place of light saber.

Must lay off the alcohol.

@GlastonSpur if you don't believe Levy will go above 35mil for Martial, are you not concerned for the future of your club while this new stadium is being built?

There is no way you will be able to attract the kind of talent needed to consistently challenge for the title with 35mil budgets. Rose expressed his concern about bringing in 'players you have to google'. I doubt it will be long before Kane/Alli/Lloris are fed up with this penny pinching and look for a move elsewhere.

If you bid 70mil for Martial (you said it yourself you have the money from outgoings) it would certainly tempt us and would show a real statement of intent and could give you an extra dimension in attack. General profits generated by the club could go towards another signing or two to bulk up your squad.

I'm not concerned for the future of Spurs because we've shown that we can recruit excellent players for much less than £35m. What we've done before we can do again. I'm content to let other clubs get sucked into this hyper-inflated market.

We wouldn't bid £70m for Martial partly because we don't need him all that much ... it's not as if he'd step in and be an automatic upgrade on any of our first XI players. It's also because we have other targets in other positions and not much spare money.

If Rose had to Google Wanyama, or Eriksen or Lloris or Alderweireld (or most of our signings) when we signed them, then he needs to get out more.

Selling him would be madness.

But he's got to prove his worth to the boss, it's obvious that he's not First choice on the left. That alone is worrying, given the fact that we're in need of a Solid player in that position.

I'm just praying that he gets a good run, and grabs it with both hands.

I understand your position, but it is about more than Martial the player. It's about our managers inability (thus far, hopefully it'll click this season) to motivate and play talented youngsters to the best of their ability. And Martial is a potential world class player. Mourinho will most likely melt down next year and be sacked, or so history tells us. I would hope that by the time that happens he hasn't sold Martial. I hope even more that he's won a few more trophies with us!

I gathered that. Was just making fun of the scenario. I always did question his sanity but this confirms he's an outright loon and a terrible wum

If (IF) he's a wum then he's probably an all time great at it to be fair.

Exactly. We spent 56m on him and it hasn't worked out. He doesn't fit into the managers plans and he's on the bench most weeks. What's the difference in selling Martial and say... selling Memphis/Schneiderlin? None of them are United players in my book. They were all LVG signings.

I take it you probably value him at 100m then? Not a chance. His value has dropped. If he was so good, it wouldn't be Spurs, Sevilla and Inter after him. It would be Barcelona and Real Madrid. They're after Mbappe after all.

Barcelona just signed Paulinho from the Chinese League. Does that automatically make him a world-beater? Get over your inferiority complexes.

So you expect us to accept the offer if it was higher ?

I dont expect, dont know what would club do if they offered X amount of money. What i know or saw, is that we rejected their offer which looks like joke and that has nothing to do with JM. So if you want to have a go at some specific group, at least pick a right moment.

Agree with the bolded. As you say, hopefully he's doing the right things and gets the results.

I can't see him being sold, now. Unless there's a rich club, on the rise, who would be happy to pay wages and a fee that would be very high for someone who's lost their form.

Not sure where this £25m bid for Martial has come from but I can find nothing on the internet to support it.

Has there even been a concrete bid made or are people simply guessing the fee?

Stay in more surely?

You should also follow your advice yourself and choose when to talk about Mourinho not liking young talents.

Been wondering why Glaston never replies to me. Obviously has put me on ignore.
