Andreas Pereira to Valencia? | It happened

I personally would rather see if we can move a couple on (Young/Fellaini, even Lingard) and give him more chances. The players above have done ok for the club but don't have Pereira's potential and he is ready. But if we don't sell (can't or won't) I would rather Pereira played a full season in La Liga than a few league cup games for us.

Can't understand how this is going through when we just have 6 attacking players available till January and we're currently playing 4-2-3-1, really.

Awww people are actually surprised if he goes on loan again, thats cute.

Disappointed by this.

Think if given the opportunity he'd make himself a mainstay in the side.

Think he'll end up a superstar, I just hope it's here.

He can be another Luka Modric imo.

The squad is too big, it does make some sense.

I don't think many new players will get a look in for you this season so this isn't surprising. Mourinho wants the league and will use the players he trusts from his first season with you, plus his new signings.

Good decision. We have Fellaini, Herrera and Carrick ahead of him, all not starting games at the moment. We would be crazy to think Mourinho could give him a decent amount of playing time this season with all midfielders fit.

I do think there's also the case of Mourinho lacking trust in young players in general. Specifically, young players in his key positions.

I think he's a bit more liberal on this front for the forwards provided they show good work ethic etc (e.g. Rashford/Lingard) but key positions in the spine aren't for young players. With Carrick/Fellaini/Herrera as rotational options, he's probably just being honest and admitting he has no intention of using him at any stage unless there's an emergency.

It means we'll mostly be playing 2 in the middle. Herrera and Carrick haven't even got a game yet and Jose loves Fellaini so there isn't a spot for him

Yeah. Mourinho isn't really one for rotating anyway - once he has a team he tends to stick with it. Last season we had a lot of injuries. Now, the only player in our starting XI with a concerning injury record is Jones and he's a CB.

Got vague memories that when Mourinho arrived he said he generally likes to work with squads of around 20 outfield players plus 3 keepers.

Including Rojo and Ibrahimovic, ours is currently 24 outfield players plus three keepers, so you're right it probably is based around that.

Makes me wonder if Tuanzebe might go on loan this week too, unless a big bid for Smalling materialises from someone like Leicester or WBA.

My favourite player. Has the biggest potential we had in years. Now he's gone, I hope he does prove himself "enough" to be in the squad next year, otherwise every other big club could go for him.

Not happy with this, Okay valencia is a big club, but i dont think he'll ever be a united player now , we'll end up selling him . I hope we wont loose him for free.

We're not getting anyone else in this window 100 %. Jose wasn't even playing him on the wing in pre season.
He played him everywhere, including minutes in the rightwing against City (13') and Barcelona (28').

If true, I think that may be the last we see of him* :(

He's at a stage in his career where he needs regular game time at the top level for him to realise his potential and for his career to flourish.

Until 2020 when we buy him back for half a billion pounds.

Better have him locked in should he light it up. The last thing we need is another Pogba/KdB sort of situation.

Too big, 6 players for 4 positions, really?

Pereira does not make Mourinho's first two elevens IMO.

Ddg, Valencia, Bailly, Jones, Shaw, Matic, Pogba, Mkhi, Mata, Martial, Lukaku

Romero, Darmian, Smalling, Rojo, Blind, Fellaini, Carrick, Herrera, Ibrahimovic, Rashford, Lingard

He is with Mitchell, McTominay, Young, Tuanzebe in the pecking order. Would be pretty happy if Mitchell, McTominay and Tuanzebe got good loans as well. Players need proper games to develop!

I'm losing my mind here, wasting my third post of the day as newbie. I mean how could we let him go on loan ?! If I were ever in his place I don't think I would return to this club again with the smile on my face (it happend to me too when I was youngster, but of course it was not even close to this level), it's the biggest club in the world maybe, but I think the most teams in the world would take him as quick as possible. I mean, so talented guy, skillful, has a great pass, can shoot from free kicks, he's fast.

Once again, I think I already wrote this in one of th threads. All biggest clubs in the world have those youngsters at least on the bench if not on the pitch and they are getting chances if they are so talented as this guy. Could be our Asensio, but we'll stick to those 4 options that we have and I'm 100 % sure he could bring something more then those as a CAM replacing Mkhi or anyone else that's considered as our number 10.

Oh god what have we done really. He has some of his best friends here, I really hope we didn't make that huge mistake and he'll somehow forgive us, because I know at the moment it's hard for him, even though it's a new challenge at Valencia for him. My last post today, and I'm going to sleep really, really sad.

Yes he was playing as a CM where have a lot of experience after Matic and Pogba. Would personally like to sell Fellaini and keep Pereira but he has to play somewhere. U23 football is no good.

Just don't panic. Oh wait, you already did it.

What's that list for? Is A.Pereira ever going to play in defense?

We have without him 5 midfielders and 6 attackers, so not that much by all means. If we play 4-3-3 or the promised 3-5-2, for instance, there's only two midfielders left for a alternative midfield three, easily not enough with injuries or suspensions to give the starters a deserved rest.

I think he is a nice talent. He should go out on loan if he wants to get on Tite radar during this WC year.

The 4 attacking positions in the present successful 4-2-3-1.
Well he's never going to play up front and with Zlatan it would be 7 anyway. If needs be Mourinho will use Fellaini in one of those positions before Pereira or use 3 in midfield. If he wants to play he's going to have to move elsewhere.
