The truth is out there:Must be the same unexplained paranormal phenomenon that caused "Liability Dave" to win the Premier League Golden Glove last season. Better get Mulder and Scully on the case.
Onana stinks

Can't see the next manager keeping him. Hopefully he finishes the season strong and attract some saudi interest.
I seem to recall them missing the target with easy chances, rather than any stunning saves.I remember him having some great saves against Everton and even one save from a header v Luton at a game I was at. I think Everton's xG against us was over 2 so he will have overperformed in that game alone by over two goals.
He is having a mare, Onana being dropped for Cameroon seems to have broken him.Must be the same unexplained paranormal phenomenon that caused "Liability Dave" to win the Premier League Golden Glove last season. Better get Mulder and Scully on the case.
Didn’t stop us last summer from splashing 50m on a new GK though. We also had a better keeper last season. No, it's more saying we've got bigger problems Infront of Onana. It's not absolving him of his own issues, but I'd like to see him with a stable defence Infront of him too. That's the more pressing need than trying to sell Onana and then replacing him.
I disagree on the last sentence based on how people wanted us to build from the back, how shit de Gea was and his much he was on. Diogo Costa was the other candidate heavily linked and based on the WC, everyone was completely put off by him. Onana in the other hand, had a great season and was one of the best players on the pitch in the CL final. He's been shit this season, but let's not rewrite history.Didn’t stop us last summer from splashing 50m on a new GK though. We also had a better keeper last season.
And what has Evans with our issues in front? The guy has been a revelation and our best summer business.
It's been pointed out in both Onana threads and was well known when he joined that he doesn't get on with the national team coach.
Calm yourself.
This is the bottom line. It’s also well known that he has been a disappointment for his club as well as his national team. Calm, I will remain.
Surely you haven't forgotten the slippy days of Carroll?Easily the worst keeper to have played for us in my time watching the club...
complete liability.. horrendous signing.. ETH must be getting a cut from these transfers..
I'd happily get rid of them both.. Onana for being garbage and ETH because his judgement cant be trusted...
His performance in the previous game for his country isn't the type you get dropped for. Too many people just leeching on negativity in here. It’s also well known that he has been a disappointment for his club as well as his national team. Calm, I will remain.

"Utterly humiliated" jfc
Are you saying his dropping might be down to factors outside of his performance? You think the manager is making decisions reading the caf?
Or maybe he expected more from his star goalie who chose to play an additional game for his club potentially at the cost of arriving unprepared for his national team?
If you do that you better put in an amazing performance. Not "one that just about keeps me from getting dropped". And especially if you've had disciplinary issues in the past.

So, yes?
Is this really where we are at now, seeing shots on the TV and claiming Onana wouldnt have saved them?
This ridiculous agenda against Onana is getting embarrasing, if you are upset about Liability Dave leaving thats fine but please dont take it out on Andre Onana.
The amount of criticism DDG is getting on here as some sort of defence of Onana is absolutely beggars belief. The multiple player of the season winner, the golden glove winner last season despite his drop off (saying as the onana fan club like to point out his clean sheets this season), the goalkeeper who took our breath away time and time again with saves you didn't think were possible, who would often make saves that basically won us a game or saved a point. All in defence of this absolute clown we are lumbered with now who has done nothing of note while playing for the club.'Liability Dave"? Someone played for us for 13 years and is long gone and that's how you refer to him? And you think you can talk to me about Onana.
He is shite now but he looked really good last year, a whole package. Have other clubs stayed clear of Onana because they knew he's shite, or is it just our bad luck that he turned out like this?Easily the worst keeper to have played for us in my time watching the club...

Yes he was looking shaky towards the end and even I, as a massive DDG fan from the start, agreed it was the time to move him on. It is possible to believe that it was time for DDG to move on while also thinking Onana is not the right person for the job of replacing him, the two things are not mutually exclusive.
Normally with a goalkeeper you expect some mistakes, none are infallible, but the top goalkeepers generally have a good baseline that helps overlook those. In Onana's time here his baseline has been making a horlicks; in half a season he's put together a comedy highlight reel that would put most keepers career clangers to shame.
I look forward to a time when I dont have to hold my breath literally every time there's a basic shot on goal incase the oaf decides to fall on his arse in the wrong direction or go down in installments for even the tamest of efforts.
Nah, I was replying to this thread in general, I'm fed up of repeating myself.Forget to tag someone?

Getting rid of that prima donna was the best thing Ten Hag has done, it was worth it having him here only because of that. The only clowns are people that are still fanboying about that cnut. Feck Ronaldo. And Ten Hag cannot bring himself to drop him. Happy to ditch Ronaldo one of the greats of world football when he should have embraced him. But Onana who has only shown that he is a clown of a keeper he is happy to encourage. Incredible.
So, yes?
This is spot on. There are some fundamental flaws in his technique he will struggle now to fix. He was available on a free the summer before. On a free looks a smart deal if not a long term fix. Big fee and wages. Terrible dealThe comparison to DDG is bizarre. DDG joined us as a teenager, at the same age as Onana he was in the PFA team of the year and voted out best player. Only really Neuer was considered better in the world.
Onana should be in his prime now. If he was 19 like DDG when he joined then you naturally know it's going to take time. But he's 27. He will be an outlier if he manages to greatly improve from where he is at now.

People just need to be way more open to different opinions. There are some viewpoints which are ridiculous but it's fine to criticise Onana and/or DDG if it's balanced. There's also no reason to call him an 'oaf' because apparently he's not quite at the level you'd expect from a Untied keeper despite, when you actually look into it, performing well on all GK metrics. If you don't rate him it's fine, but why change the tone of your post with that additon? The amount of criticism DDG is getting on here as some sort of defence of Onana is absolutely beggars belief. You're clearly bringing up things that are not the actual performance.
Or maybe he expected more from his star goalie who chose to play an additional game for his club potentially at the cost of arriving unprepared for his national team?

They're all outside factors affecting the decision, even if you include some level of performance requirements in there. And especially if you've had disciplinary issues in the past.
Yeah, I feel extremely sorry for him, the pile on is ridiculous - comes with the job though I'm afraid. Hopefully this is his lowest ebb and he can come back stronger this second half of the season. Now that Harry has found some form, he's basically become the meme footballer of the world.
Playing for United is a completely different kettle of fish.

Those claiming he lacks basic saving ability should watch this
What is extremely sad is that all that pressure from playing for United, other fans, the press etc, you add to that large part of our own fans that should support him are part of that pile on that constantly abuse him online. Idiotic clownish behavior.Yep, it's totally ridiculous - but its part of the parcel of being a United player.
And someone was saying there isn't any additional pressure/nonsense that comes with playing for United then other top clubs...
Karma’s a b…. He joined the pile-on on Harry in a preseason game with an obvious attempt at pandering to trolls and disenfranchised fans.
2 minutes in and only 1 save that refutes anything remotely close to what he’s been criticized for.

So that little moment when he went on Harry a bit after his mistake turned into him "joining the pile-on on Harry", what did I fecking read right now, you can't be serious. We are reaching new heights of nonsense on here.
