His distribution today was great. Don’t think he could have done much about the goals.

Feel the criticism of him today is misplaced. They were good goals. Our attacking play is the issue.

He actually made an out standing save tipping one over. Seems to struggle on low shots which i feel is due to poor positioning. Degea would have saved the second goal.
onana drives me mad the way he takes an age to pass the ball out, kills out tempo.

Never really feel he makes saves that you wouldn't expect any keeper to make.

Thought he was weak for the first goal. Got out the to the man, then just did nothing.

Was a poor first touch by Bowen.

A better keeper would have pounced and made it his.

I think he could have done more for the first goal when Bowen took that extra touch. Yes, the rebound was a bit unfortunate, but still...

Nothing he could really do about the goals despite what some on here will say. A couple decent saves. More than anything his passing today was world class, probably his best overall passing performance despite the crap in front of him. Glad to see him settling into life in the premier league, been a big upgrade on De Gea so that’s a start at least!

Was OK. Luck will play a big part game to game because of the way we play. Today he was a bit unlucky in a way I don't think he has done anything wrong for any of the goals.

Unlucky with first and anyone who blames him for the second is nothing but an agenda......

Terrific save from the header and couldn't do anything for the goals. Very good passing as well.

The standing on the ball, is that something he did at Inter as well, because it has been a theme of this season. Back when Utd played at Arsenal and Bayern it was causing some issues for them as they weren't certain what to do, either to press of just stand off, appears that the consensus is in to allow it to be a bit of a passive stand off.

Indeed but the De Gea fans on here are seemingly intent on blaming him for every goal we conceed.
Well, de Gea used to get blamed for just about every goal we conceded as well. It is not much of a difference in that regard to be honest. It is unreasonable, yes, but also expected.

Don't wish to blame him today but I swear, that kudos goal is like watching a broken record. So many of those low shots bottom corner has been going in. Can't help but wonder if whether his positioning is just off or he seems to dive in slow mo.

Some of them he perhaps might have done better for, but not this one. To save this one he would have had to leave his near post massively open, in which case he then would have got blamed (and rightfully so) for leaving that much space at the near post.

One of our better players tonight even though he should've done better for the first one. Some good saves and very comfortable in possession.

Peter Schmeichel made an interesting point earlier this season during our Champions League campaign, where he said something along the lines of because Onana is so relaxed on the ball, Big Pete thinks Onana is still in a relaxed state when it comes to making saves.

I believe this was evident today, when Onana did a spaghetti wrist for Bowen’s initial soft shot, which then laid it on a plate for Bowen to knock into the back of the net

...Onana basically made a meal of it, and Bowen gobbled up the chance. Puns intended.

First one, maybe he could have read the pass (players didnt), but ultimately he saved it. Not entirely sure what else he could have done and was unlucky with the bounce of the ball.

The second, no keeper is saving that......

He blocked it with his leg.

That first goal is another feck up, no matter how some on here try to paint it. The opposition player practically runs between him and his first post and all he did was a meek leg save attempt. The second goal nobody expects of him to save, too much too ask from Onana.

Maybe could have been stronger on the first, but that's just a seriously kind bounce of the ball for Bowen.

Second was a good hit, not much he could do there.

Either way it was still a weak attempt to save it, first from his leg and then a weak hand followed.

It wasn’t a weak attempt. You’re making stuff up now. He came out and blocked the shot, with the exact same body shape that any other keeper would use in that same situation. It was a good, effective block. When a keeper blocks a shot like that he has no effect on where the ball rebounds afterwards. 9 times out of 10 that ball rebounds to safety. It was pure bad luck that the ball bounced so kindly for Bowen.

We’ve reached that crazy point with a new signing now where some legitimately bad performances have made minds up about him, so people will find a way to blame him for every single goal we concede. It’s silly. That first goal was not his fault.
