Anderson on his way out?

True about the injuries.
Do you not think that his party lifestyle isn't helping though?

I mean if he built his body into a tank like say how Ronaldo has grown from a skinny kid to a muscle machine, stopped eating the pies and drinks and less partying, maybe it would help his fitness and he'd have maybe been able to play a bit more despite the injuries?
I don't really know. Personally I think the issue about his life style is a bit over played. I mean SAF is the man who froze out Yorke for being a party animal. I'd be very surprised if he has let Anderson get away with it, if its been directly affecting his career progression.

Me thinks he is just plain unlucky. Almost to Jaime Redknapp proportions.

That's an excellent point. However, IMO the talent is undoubtedly there. Anderson, fully fit and playing well is as good as, if not better, than anyone we've been linked with this season.

If he stays injury free and puts in the hard work needed, I see no reason not give him more time. At the risk perpetuating a stereotype, I find that Brazilian players in particular take longer to mature mentally and I think this is the case with Anderson.

Debatable. I'd much rather have a reliable Modric than him though.

One of my biggest problems with him is his attitude at times. Im probably going a bit OTT with this but Im sure others may remember it as well. On numerous occassions his attitude for the reserve was so questionable At times i honestly didnt see an United player there at all. I then begin to question his possible affect on younger players at the club. Hardly a good influence now is he? Unfortunetly the question of being a likable individual doesnt matter, its football not summer school.

Ive changed my mind, give him another season. Hes too likable to sell.
I agree he deserves another season to prove his fitness and show some more of the potential we bang on about

I was a big fan of the versatility and reliability of John O Shea - watching him for Ireland and Sunderland made me realise moving him on was a great decision

Reading that article from last September makes you realise the progress he had made - he started last season and looked like he would feature in our midfield as a key player
- lets hope he gets a bit of luck and trains his ass off

One theory at Old Trafford is that Anderson has benefited from having a steady girlfriend and a young family and, in turn, is gradually shedding his image as the party animal who, 13 months ago, ended up in hospital after leaving a Portuguese nightclub at 6am and crashing off the road. Anderson, dragged unconscious from his burning car, was recovering at the time from a ruptured cruciate ligament, the injury footballers fear the most. "Perhaps he needed that bang on the head," one United official volunteered.

???

+ Powell who has been told that he'll make appeaarances from the bench and if he impresses will continue to be played.

Most likely he's there to compete and and cover Cleverley and Anderson's injuries though

The Euros will finish soon, have some faith. :)

I have faith that we'll probably spank out 30m on Rodriquez or someone similar, a really talented attacking young player because they're what SAF loves. I don't have much faith in actually signing a deep midfielder, which SAF seems to hate, apart from Carrick, who is his lovechild.

Not very likely if the Summer so far is anything to go by.

Agree. I'm just thinking hypothetically. Don't think there's any chance of it happening.

We could but if he goes to Portugal and settles well, i can see him not wanting to come back tbh. Specially if the player we sign gels in and performs.

Don't think it's ever been a case of not settling at United. It's just been about getting his body stronger and refining his game. Getting more game-time in Portugal and being more of a "star" there could give him that lift. I'm just thinking out loud, really.

:(

If Modric goes to Real, we'd do great to just get Sahin imo,

Thats what am afraid of actually. That he goes to Portugal, has a great season and becomes a star so to speak. would he then again want to come back and fight for his place? Am not so sure about that.

You really know it's a slow news day when Caught Offside goes viral , and with some reputable papers to.

Still don't feel it would be a good idea of selling him. Especially since Pogba is gone and we still don't look like signing Modric or any other CM we need every CM we have for next season.

Not to mention that if he could stay injury free for a season I'm pretty certain he would make the next step in his development and become a permanent starter for us.

We're short on both numbers and quality at CM, not really in a position to be loaning out players.

Why the hell would we loan him?

That would leave Carrick (31), Scholes (38), Giggs (39), Cleverley, and maybe Jones (who isn't even a midfielder).

It'd be crazy.

5-8 good games, then goes of the pace, get injured, then get fat? It's been the same. I'd rather have Kagawa in number 8 (which he wore at his Japanese club). We have Carrick, Scholes for the deep/holding role and Clev, Kagawa in an advanced position.

Well, mostly because I can't see Anderson going off the boil again.

girish you can't be serious? You think Carrick, Scholes, Clev and Kagawa are enough for filling 2, potentially 3 positions in our team?

Gremio president Paulo Odone has revealed that Manchester United midfielder Anderson wants to join them.

Anderson is weighing up his future at Old Trafford after a difficult past 18 months.

It is believed that United have been considering offering the midfielder to Portuguese outfit Porto as a makeweight in a deal for James Rodriguez.

The Brazilian "wants to come back", says Odone.

Has this been in here?

I'd be quite pleased if he goes tbh, would surely mean a better CM coming in as well

If he wants to stay fine, if not he can feck off.
We better look for midfielders though.

With his injuries and his seemingly lack of profesionalism at times then it makes me hope that we see the back of him. If he stays then I am sure we will get a few good performances from him anyways but would be much better to see a new face in instead of him to freshen the midfield up

slightly off topic, but i imagine we are the friendliest/nicest "big" club on the planet when it comes to giving players a chance.

i can imagine if anderson was at barca, he would've been fecked off after 2 season max.
