All Rossi transfer speculation here please

I suggest you go watch those matches again. He scored and created a goal in one of them probably making him man of the match.

He was average for an 18 year old playing in Ruud Van Nistelrooy's position. If Rooney had done the same thing he wouldn't have been amazing either up front alone.

I suggest you watch the games again.

You're not his mum per chance? She's always telling him he's as good as Tevez and all.

I am not saying anyone is lying.

You've obviously seen much more of Rossi than I have, and he must have improved considerable over the last year if he is almost as good as Tevez. Fact is, if he was anywhere near as good as Tevez, don't you think Sir Alex would have just stuck with Rossi instead of signing Tevez?

Rossi would at best have been fourth choice, probably even behind the likes of Giggs, Ronaldo and Anderson as well.

It's all opinion. Mine is his movement is a league ahead of Tevez and he's got that part of his DNA that makes him a proper goalscorer, like Tevez isn't.

There's no doubt Tevez is stronger and less likely to give the ball away and he will improve the other areas of his game at United. But for me Rossi did more for Parma than Tevez did for West Ham because he did it in half the time. Italy isn't England so obviously Tevez is the more proven... But he's also 3 years older so that's always going to be likely isn't it?

As a striker my opinion is he's more likely to score a goal than Smith, Giggs and Tevez and far, far more likely than Anderson playing up front. I'm not entirely sure about Ronaldo because half of his goals are tap ins, timing his runs. It's quite likely he'd outscore Rossi if he was playing up front, the only question is whether he'd be moved off the wing to do that.

I suggest you watch the games again.

I suggest you work on your one liners. That one didn't even fit the criteria.

You're obviously a drama queen.

Making a huge deal about United selling a squad player, something that was obvious we would after the recent purchases.

Oh, and as I said, if Rossi is almost as good as Tevez, then he must have improved considerable the last year.

It's clear that you're a total feckwit.

How's that?

And you're his mum as well.

You've clearly never seen him play. He's as good as Tevez!!!

They would have been dead long before then

Would probably have done the deed when United let Andy Ritchie go

I was very upset when he left. I was once subbed on for him at the end of some poxy local league game when I was 12/13 and he was just about to sign with United.

There went my claim to "fame".

Is Rossi really a midget? Someone said he was only 5' 2' but I thought they must be joking.

Oh sweet Jesus...

His height is compared, not overall abilities.

you basically were saying they were small and made the top so Rossi can and i am saying they were two of the very best in history .......... Rossi is nowhere near that standard and imo never ever will be

Fergie's said there's a buyback clause in the rossi deal. Reported on manutd.com now.

Reds can buy Rossi back

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that United inserted a clause in Giuseppe Rossi's contract which would allow the Reds to buy the striker back from Villarreal.

The Italian Under-21 international had several meetings with Sir Alex and was told that he would be given opportunities at Old Trafford, but the former Parma youngster wanted regular first-team football.

"We had several meetings with him to convince him that he would get plenty of football here, but that he may have to be a bit patient," explained the boss.

"He wanted to have a go at first-team football, so it was a difficult decision.

"We wish him well, he is a good lad. He has always been a good professional. He's going to a good club. We sold Diego Forlan to Villarreal and he recently left for Atletico Madrid. It's a well-run club with good ambitions.

"I know he'll do well. We've got a clause in his contract where he could come back to us at some point. We covering oursleves in every way."

You cannot state it so easily.

We don't know anything about his improvments on loan. We didn't saw him playing even 1 minute for United in first squad, since his return.

He's not that bad, good goalscoring talent.

Why suddenly, everybody rates him low...

Couldn't we just loan him ?

Giuseppe... I hope You'll proove to some people that was a mistake, selling You.

Good Luck !

i don't think any one rates him low, but the reaction from some is we have just sold a great player which will prove to be a terrible decision and some of us think that is way over the top.
For me he is a good lad and I would like to keep him but he wants to play first team football now not sit and hope for injuries and cup matches and he clearly isn't good enough yet.
Still it looks as if Fergie has at least got an option to re-buy in the future so to me a win win for everybody.

Hope that shuts the moaners. He wanted to leave. And we can get him back. Best deal for everyone.

I see your point, maybe some caftards (including me, of course) was on sort of emotions combined with high expectations from a kid.

But it's a little bit unfair, don't You think ?

Dong having chances to play, he blew it, let's be honest... And there is this kid, Rossi, who helped Parma to stay in the league by scoring important goals.

We got good money for him and we have the option to get him back.

Win win.

That was the same i thought, maybe Fergie is planning with that money for getting Tevez now.
Apart from that i didnt see chances for Rossi on the first team so it was not a bad move to sell him.

That's what pissing me the most... everything depends on court verdict in Teveth's case.

Simple, nobody wants Dong certainly nobody who will pay him as much or give him a high profile where as many clubs wanted Rossi and the kid and his agent know it --------- therefore Rossi had a choice; stay at United with heap big competition or go to a good club in spain, get a pay rise and virtually guaranteed first team football spend what would you do........ we have covered ourselves for the future and I think thats about the best we can do. Keeping him when he prefers to go would have never worked for him or us.

That buy back clause in Rossi's deal changes the whole thing into a smart businnes.

Parma & Villarreal soon can build us a complete striker with first team football experience.

It's going to be a very intresting season.

You see! There we go. In Fergie we trust.
When all was doom and gloom, he pulls off another stroke of genius.

This is obviously a case of Rossi wanting to be a first choice striker and United not being able to guarantee him that. I was surprised when the deal went down but looking back in retrospect, it is a good deal for all parties since United has the buy back option and they may have forged a good working relationship with Villareal in the process. That is always important in the transfer market these days, not to mention in the event that United may want to loan a promising youngster out to them.

If Rossi wanted to leave then he should have left. Stating that we are truly short of strikers now and unless SAF is not considering Anderson as a forward then we would need 2 forwards and not just 1.

Now that we might be buying him back. . . anyone else agree that he's as good as Tevez?

well?

Two points. he left because he wanted to be a regular and we had SEVERAL ...meetings with him to try and convince him. People have played the boy down but I think the fact we tried so hard to convince him proves people are right to have been pissed off. Count Them Several... - however, now it's up to Rossi to show what he can do and i'm sure he will.

Yep. I was right he alone knew what he was doing. And once again he does what's best of our club long term. SAF= Legend
