All Rossi transfer speculation here please

Saha, Rooney, Smith?, Dong

Saha is unreliable.
Smiths futures in question
Dong for me isn't ready
I left Ole off the list but he probably won't play more then 20+ games this season...

So there's a strong possibility we'll bring in another striker if we sell smith

Ruud seemed to lose a bit of pace and his performances were very poor. It was clear he wasn't the ruud of old (he very often went missing in games) and most people accepted his sale because of that. Rossi's situation is different and most people follow the youth side of the club so it's worse for them.

Do you not think that if SAF thought he was good enough he would have given him a chance! It's not like he isn't willing to try out the younger players

He obviously felt he was good enough hence the public speaches about how good he is. But he obviously sent him to Newcastle and expected him to light up the premiership. There's no other explaination because Rossi done all he could have and more at Parma. He did more for them than Tevez did for West Ham in my opinion so obviously the mind was made up a long time ago.

Tevez is better then Rossi, however if we end up paying 30 million for Tevez it would be a bad deal. Judging it from a value point of view its saying Tevez is 4 times as good as Rossi which is not the case at all.

The whole deal seems a little weird to me.

1. He has been sold quite cheaply.
2. Only last week SAF said he is saying along with Pique.
3. Why has Rossi gone to Spain rather than Italy, he has already proven himself there, it’s his home country, and quite a few teams were interested in him.
4. SAF has said he might be looking at alternatives if the Tevez deal is not completed in time, therefore why has Rossi been sold.
5. We bought Nani and Anderson for around 15 million each and sold Rossi for 7 million, that does not make sense.

Maybe he has had words with SAF as something just does not seem right!

for me Rossis future was in doubt the day gill found out that getting Tevez was a possibility. Fergie talked about him and rooney as a front pair and I think that obviously even puts louis under pressure. When you think Tevez is 23 and Rooney is 21 then unless rossi is willing to bide his time you have a problem. The fact Tevez is quality softens the blow somewhat

7 mil(allegedly) plus im sure there will be some performance related add ons not bad for a player with huge potential but not a single full season for us under he's belt.

Wouldn't be a good bargining tool if he said he was going and was surplus to requirements.

Possibly the highest bidders.

I don't think SAF has ever seen him as a lead striker and in any case I don't believe he's stupid enougth not to have alternatives to Tevez.

I'm disappointed i must say. If Smith and Dong are deemed good enough strikers to play for us then Rossi must feel aggrieved. Wouldn't be suprised if Fergie went for another forward besides Tevez now. Just hope this does not afffect him selling Smith, and Dong for that matter, who is definetly no better than me.

Wouldn't be suprised if Fergie made a move for Eidur now, he seems to bloody have a hard on for him anyway.

The only thing im surprised about is how hard some people on here are taking this, like more gutted than when ruud left....wierd.

Ruud did not fit in with the team anymore. He had slowed to the point of it being a detriment. Rossi was pure potential. Makes sense.

I'm fecking disappointed with fergie. Rossi deserved a chance, even if it was for only a season. It doesn't look to bright for anyone in the reserves right now, considering that the best reserve player by a mile never got a chance in the first team. And to think alan smith and dong are still in the squad.

When did he not get a chance? last season he was on loan all year the year before he had a few chances as an 18 year old in which he did ok but nothing better than that ------------ you are all romanticising....for one Johnny Evans looked a much more likely PL player than Rossi....I seem to remember last summer lots saying they could not understand the sale of spector, then it was Jones. have either been good enough to have played in our team last season?

Alan Smith, Dong and a 35 year old Solskjaer make up 3/5 of our current strike force for next season.

I think Fergie knows what he's doing somehow. Just call it a feeling. I know he's new to the job and all and hasn't won much, but from what I've heard from Aberdeen supporters is that his eye for identifying which players will make it or not is very good.

So what more did Rossi have to do for Parma?

He scored 9 goals in half a season. A feat Tevez has been wanked over all summer for achieving in a FULL season.

It's obvious that, if it's been decided he's not a premiership player, it was decided during his time at Newcastle and nothing he could have done at Parma was going to change his fate.

How many of those games did you watch?

When you consider we've only been playing one striker for most of this year including this preseason (where Giggs and Ronaldo have been playing behind Rooney) and we trying to secure the services of Tevez, it's sufficent really.

So Smith, Solskjaer and Saha didn't play in a chunk of the games where we played our best last season?

I caught 5-6 full matches streamed, the same as with Tevez/west ham.

You?

I watched 3 games, in one he was crap but scored a great goal in the other 2 he played better than average. I do not argue he is a good player but nothing more than that as yet.
If you have read his and his agents comments there is no doubt he wanted and expected to be a first team player next year ........ not in the reserves and quite honestly you cannot put him in the top 16 players at OT at the moment and perhaps never.

He didn't get a chance in the man utd first team. The fact that people like rio ferdinand and other first teamers have spoken highly of rossi made it seem like rossi was definitely deserving of having a chance in the first team at one point or another. You didn't see ferdinand talking highly of evens or pique or whoever who was 'more likely a PL player' than rossi now did you?

When do you suggest this chance should have taken place?

has any one else considered that he's just surplus to needs, as i the style Fergie plans to play over the next two seasons doesn't require a striker like Rossi.

I don't know but you're not going to get a lot of productivity out of a 5'2, skinny as a rake centre forward in the Premiership these days.

Maybe Fergie was planning to use him as a winger and Rossi didn't want that and put in a transfer request.
