Alexis Sanchez | Staying at Arsenal after City deal falls apart

Pep doesn't care for the future, he is going all out this season. If he fails he'll walk or be sacked.
I think signings like this just prove he doesn't see his long term future at City. 2-3 years and gone I think.

Trio ABC then...Argie, Brazil, and Chile...Kun, Sanchez, Jesus...feed by KDB...scarry om paper...

Looks inevitable now that he's going to City. They'll walk the league. :(

numerous journo's with the same story now. Obviously a briefing from City.

doesn't mean it will happen. However, sanchez asking for leave has kicked this up a level though.

This phrase is turned out whenever City have made a significant singing over the years. City will score goals, with or without Sanchez. What they haven't yet proven, is that they can defend.

We have Kolasinac.

Alexis clearly doesn't want to play for the club anymore, I'd be happy with Sterling.

You need 2 players for each position. You played Bellerin there on Sunday and it was awful. I think Shaw could do a job for you. Less pressure, nearer to his family

Are you mad Mkhitaryan has given us 5 assists in 3 games? He has potential to be one of our best players.

That being said I didn't realise he is 28, 29 in Jan. He is only a month younger than Sanchez so actually a swap deal wouldn't be a completely crazy suggestion. But I think I'd prefer as well as rather than instead of.

Sanchez vs Mkhi...not that much in age, but so far in term of quality.

And dont be too exciting yet, Mkhirtayan had not face any good teams. He usually turns shite against them. Even in the games where he provided, his overall play was just so-so...

I don't see the sterling Sanchez swap happening. Sterling's on big wages and moved from pool to city because he wanted to step up. City to the dumpster fire that is arsenal is a huge downgrade move for his career. Than he's got to move all 8 of kids and baby mamas to London. Good luck on that.

If this happens, league is over, doesn't matter how they defend, you can't compete with the fire power they will have. De bruyne, aguero, Silva, Jesus, Sanchez, other Silva and sane.

We played Bellerin there because Wenger is clueless, not because we need LWBs. We have Monreal and Gibbs as backup to Kolasinac. Shaw is totally unneeded.

Supposed Arsenal ITK claiming there was a meeting yesterday and they want to sell the uncommitted players.

Well no, the league isn't 'over'. Dramatic statements like this are incredibly annoying.

If this is true, it shows City can't even be arsed to develop the young players they've bought, let alone come through the fabled Academy. What a sham of a club.

There's probably not enough time in the window to sell 10 players.

The ITK sounds like a wenger-cultist. In the tweet-chain, he's claiming the uncommited will be sold, deals lined up for replacements and that those going haven't "met the standard".

@Maradona10 posted in the Arsenal thread that his bloke is actually followed by numerous journos, so might be something to it.

This.
Buy young English player for the future for £50m.
Feck him off two years later.
Jadon Sancho knows what's good for him.

Line-up for next Arsenal match:

Wenger
Wheelchair
Cross
Geoff
Keown

If they can get city to make a swap with Sterling, then they should take it with both hands.. There is no way he will sign the contract even if he stays on,so getting sterling in exchange is a good deal for them.. Makes so much sense, you kind of wonder if Wenger is going to refuse for that reason..

I hope City don't get him..

They're now saying it was Arsenal that approached City.
Spineless club.

Would Smalling and 50m get it done?

Would we be happy to do that with Bailly, Jones, Lindelof, Rojo and Tuanzebe at the club?

Unfortunately looks like City will be getting him though.

If City get him, they will be strong favorites for the league. He is a strong personality on the field and they desperately need some one like him.

Its a bit disturbing seeing Pool and City signing good players.

Smalling is worth 30m in this market. Why would we pay 80m for a player in his last year of contract? That just strikes me as a little too desperate and reckless.

City are getting worse than Madrid for shiny new toy syndrome. Only got Sane last year and he's gonna be binned off to the bench now.

We've shown zero interest in him all summer. I don't know why, it's very strange.

Maybe Jose doesn't want to deal with Arsenal, or maybe we've been told Wenger won't even pick up the phone to Mourinho. Or maybe we've been briefed that Alexis doesn't want to join us, so don't even bother.

I hope the truth comes out, even if it is just that we simply had no interest in him. I can't wrap my head around why we aren't all over this. He's world class, proven in this league and in Europe, and we can afford him.

Why we're not all over this is anyone's guess.

I'd be willing to let Mata go the other way to facilitate this deal.

I don't think there are too many top players who currently would be excited by a move to Arsenal, especially, those who are in established clubs already.

Arsenal are becoming a pain in the arse to themselves and to rivals.

Sanchez is an RvP-esque signing that could win the league for City. Can only hope Pep ruins him by playing him as an inverted-fullback-quartermeister-whatever-thingy.

Forget about us, but you would usually have more than one club interested in such a player. The fact that no other club has been mentioned at this stage makes me think Sanchez's camp have made it very clear that he only wants to go to City.
