Alexis Sanchez | Staying at Arsenal after City deal falls apart

Pep finally getting a big transfer right. Sanchez will win City the title, and if they can get him and send the hopelessly inconsistent Sterling in the opposite direction that's great bidness for them.

Not convinced, their defence is still an issue. Also the attack lacks some balance, Sanchez will be amazing for them though but if they go away to say Anfield etc I can still see them taking a pasting.
Especially if Kompany picks up another injury

Decent start nut I'll wait till we play one of the top 6. Last season we started well then played City and got taken apart.
Last season we were also integrating four key players into the side whilst still trying to showhorn two slow attackers which doesn't work well with Jose's m.o. This season we don't need to play all of our new signings, have no Rooney/Ibra problem and have a couple of players playing really well. It could be a false dawn, won't deny that but apart from fullbacks we have resolved a lot of issues imo.

Sterling is the quintessential Arsenal player though. Pacy, inconsistent with flashes of brilliance at times. Not world class but not completely shite either.

Will fit in well with Walcott, Ramsey and co.

I can't predict anything, but these two questions can be easily answered by last year's stats. Sanchez scored 24 goals and 11 assists in the league. He was directly involved in 35 goals, which is short only of Kane's stats who was involved in 36.
You did already predict things though. You said he would take United from us finishing 4th, to be the favourites for the league. Why can't you do the same for Arsenal?

Indeed.

Breaking news this player plus cash offer for Sanchez. Not a bad deal for Le Arse to be fair, although dont know why Sterling would want to move there

As said above, Utd should be all over this various types of offers. Smalling plus cash, Shaw plus cash, Lingard plus cash. Variety of options we could surely tempt them with

Man City are going to have some brilliant yet unhappy squad players this year. Could see Aguero leaving by January

Not Shaw.

I would jump at the opportunity in getting Sanchez no matter how small it may be, would be an excellent addition to the squad make us even stronger. Its not as if he would not get game time or even the money, and if he went to City or Chelsea it would damage our title chances.

The only player we could offer that would be as tempting for Arsenal would be Martial but that should and will never happen.

If Griezmann is set in stone next season then Sanchez makes no sense.
I love it when people complain that Jose doesn't think long term then beg for signings like this that would create 100 problems down the road

Arsene needs defender and money( of course). So if we want him bid smalling plus 40-50 mil would seal the deal. But i think jose is not interested

I really feel we should go all out for him. He wants to leave, and if Arsenal are willing to do business with City, then they definitely wouldn't mind doing business with us.

I feel like adding him to our starting eleven would instantly make us favorites for the league and contenders for the CL.

We sold them Welbeck and Silvestre, now it's time for them to return the favour.

We have Kolasinac.

Alexis clearly doesn't want to play for the club anymore, I'd be happy with Sterling.

You should be delighted with this deal(if it's true)

There's no reports at all saying Sanchez wouldn't come here or reports saying Wenger would never sell to us. The worrying thing however, is that there is absolutely no links between United and Sanchez. I've posted several times he is the exact player we need to take us to the next level. It make absolute no sense why we should not go for him. We would be weakening a rival, stopping another rival from strengthening and of course, making us fearsome in attack.

The only hope I'm clutching onto is a out-of-the-blue type Lukaku signing where we looked like we were not even interested and bang! Other than that, best case scenario we can hope for is if we don't sign him he fecks off to Juventus or Bayern, thus not strengthening City and making them title favorites.

I actually think Wenger would rather sell to City than us. He's still bitter about the Van Persie deal.

I wouldn't say delighted. As long as Wenger is in charge we could sign Messi and it still wouldn't make a difference. But getting in a young winger to replace Sanchez does make sense for the future, if Wenger is ever replaced.

Pep doesn't care for the future, he is going all out this season. If he fails he'll walk or be sacked.

They sold Gabriel and there are rumors about Mustafi, if you put two and two together maybe we offered Smalling and money and something is happening. It makes too much sense with Alexis and our need of that kind of player....

Not sure about that. He even refused to sell us Debuchy while Van Gaal was in charge despite the player not being in his plans.
Forgot about that one. But it's still strange. We only got RVP from them. City signed almost half their team. Adebayor, Nasri, Clichy and Sagna. So how is Arsenal still ready to do business with them but not with us? I think it's Sanchez who would have said no to us.

I would also suspect City to have informed Sterling of this and he is willing to accept. It would seem pointless for City to make this offer on a whim, only to then fall down because Sterling says no.

Sky sources: Manchester City will make an offer for Alexis Sanchez this week.

We understand City are desperate to sign Sanchez from Arsenal before the window closes on Thursday.

One source has confirmed to us that City are willing to offer Raheem Sterling as part of the deal. However, another player who could be involved in a potential deal is Sergio Aguero – although City have made it clear that he is not for sale.

We are also told that Sanchez is unhappy at Arsenal and wants to leave. Arsenal’s position remains that he is happy and staying – even though he has less than a year left on his contract.

There's more on the Alexis Sanchez situation with TV 13 in Chile reporting that Sanchez has asked to leave the Chile training camp to “conduct personal business”.

John Cross (Mirror), Jackson (Guardian) are claiming Man City have approached to swap Sterling and cash for sanchez. James Olley claiming no formal bid but is expecting one. Now Sanchez has asked for leave from the national squad.

IT'S ALL KICKING OFF FAM.

Not always. Because if the deal falls through, or Arsenal aren't interested in Sterling, then he stays at City knowing the club wanted rid of him - and then nobody wins.
