Alexis Sanchez | Staying at Arsenal after City deal falls apart

Has probably told the club he's not signing a new deal.

Judging by the way he's behaving on the bench it's safe to say he's not that arsed about Arsenal's plight.

It's not going to happen but imagine him on the right with Valencia overlapping, our right side would go from mediocre to one of the best in the world.

Compare what Fergie did with Ronaldo in 09 when he knew was leaving.

You don't leave out your best player in a game you need to win. Especially when said player still puts in a good shift when played.

Alexis doesn't always do that though. A few times recently he's been visibly sulking on the pitch when things aren't going well. He's got a huge chip on his shoulder.

Ronaldo sulked too.

Remember him throwing his shirt when subbed against City?

He might be unhappy but he's the sort who just wants to win and usually gives his all.

Plus he is far better than the alternative.

He looks up for it.

Making the decision not to play him even more stupid.

Genuinely mind boggling, of course there might have been things that went on behind the scenes, but the first 11 Wenger put out lacked serious quality, and short of Sanchez slapping Wenger, he really should have started.

Edit: Superb assist from Sanchez, he's looked quality since coming on.

I remember that Suarez wanted to leave Pool just before that stellar season.

But you wouldn't tell it from his perfomances.

Sanchez is just not the type to lay down his tools either.

If I'd be Sanchez I'd punch Wenger in the nuts and leave. Joke of a manager. Instead of motivating all these dimwits to fight for the team, he benches the only player who has quality and a proper attitude.

I think he's leaving. Unbelievable decision from Wenger to leave him out when you see how he impacted the game in the second half.

One of the worst managerial decisions i've ever seen. I fail to see any sense in what Wenger did.

I really think we should go in for him this summer, fantastic player.

It was some sort of bonkers logic, that because their 2nd best player was out, they'd also leave their best one out!

Not like the Bayern game is possible to turn round to justify a resting either.

Was he rested for the Bayern game or dropped because of some other reason? Either way, crazy not playing your best player in such an important game. They might well lose top 4 because of this game.

Would be such a shame and sort of a waste of his ability if he goes to an already dominant team in a bit of a second rate league.

I wonder if a transfer request + big bid from Chelsea would work. God, I hope we try!

He played 16 minutes (vs the mighty Sutton) in 17 days before today. Definitely needed the rest.

Why is he unsettled at Arsenal anyway? Is it because they're a bit wank?

If so, then why would we have any chance of landing him? We're no better than them right now.

He and Ozil want £250k a week. Arsenal don't want to pay that much for them

Lots of people have said SAF promised Ronaldo he'd allow him to move if he gave him one last season, which Ronaldo did. Different situation as Sanchez is forcing Arsenals hand as he's running down his contact.

He's probably tired of busting his ass and putting in Herculean effort every week when the team around him are soft as cupcakes and go missing in all the big matches.

We should seriously look at him. People on this forum are obsessed with buying 21 and 22 year olds.

As exciting as it is to buy youngsters, the lack of experience shows when it matters the most. Today Rashford and Pogba were constantly losing the ball in the last 15 mins by rushing their attacks.

An experienced guy like Sanchez with great finishing ability and all around game would really help. He can also play upfront or on the wings which is a huge positive considering the Zlatan situation.

He obviously wants to leave and we can easily match his wage demands. I imagine we can also outbid the likes of Juve. The only issue is Chelsea imo. If he likes life in London, that could appeal to him more.

If he was dropped as a statement, then surely he has to be dropped from the team altogether rather than to the bench.
I dont understand what dropping him to the bench and then bringing him on achieves.
