Alex Sandro

Funny, isn't it? Bet half of these fan boys have never seen Tierney play.

Sandro is a better attacking full back than Tierney.

People make their opinions up these days by either, a players nationality or youtube compilations. Remember people on here at start of this season were salivating over the 2nd coming of christ in Serge Aurier. How'd that one turn out. I don't like commenting too much on Sandro, I've seen him play and every time I have he's been very average. I haven't watched him week in or week out though, so not gonna lie and claim I have seen enough to make a valued judgement. Tierney I've seen a lot of. Both players will make us better, even when Sandro has been average, it's been better than we have now. Tierney's different class, an exceptional talent. If we get either I'll be happy

Starting to think that United Fans, who are now expecting the following signings this summer with Martial and Pogba to leave for £150M;

1. Sandro 50M
2. Auderweild 60M
3. Fred 53M
4. Sergej Milinokovic Savic 80M
5. Anderson Talisca 32M
6. Gareth Bale 75M

Total 350M (Net Spend 200M)

Are going to be massively disappointed with only 1, maybe 2 or 3 at an absolute push being signed from the list above.

More realistic might be;

1. Tiago Silva or J Boatang or L Bonucci 45M
2. K Tierney 20M
3. Fred 53M
4. A Vidal 30M
5. A Talisca 32M
6. Willian 40M

Total 220M Net Spend (160M)

With Darmian, Blind, S Johnstonne, J Wilson, D Henderson, P Jones, Carrick, Feillani all leaving for 60M and Martial and Pogba staying ......we must not, under any circumstances allow Jose to spend 75M on Toby Aderweild when he would be available for 22M the following summer!!

Sandro is easily one of the top 5 left backs in world football today. Plus, he is Brazillian. If he is there to be taken, we will be mad not to grab him.

I don't know anyone who thinks Pogba is leaving.

SMS, Fred, De Ligt, Talisca, Sandro, and Semedo would be my choices.

Sandro is a better player but Tierney is excellent and would be a brilliant alternative at a cheaper price at a younger age.
If we had Sandro I’d still be up for signing Tierney but our budget will be required elsewhere unfortunately.
Plus as much as it’s not fashionable we really do need a few older heads in this team. Once we have them and we are stable we then will have a better environment to bleed youngsters into the team. Rashford Martial and Adnan all are expected to produce every week here when that’s just not realistic.

As much as I see the basis for people wanting Tierney, Sandro is simply better and more experienced. More importantly, I am a huge fan of our own Demi Mitchell who has done very well on loan at Hearts. Didn't he recently win our reserve team player of the year award? Craig Levein has been waxing lyrical about the kid. If not for his injury late in the season, Hearts would have fared better.

If we have such a young talent, I would rather get a more experienced Sandro and groom Mitchell to be his back up.

Agree Mitchell should be back up and in the squad but between Demi and Tierney there are miles apart just now. My family (sister, her husband and kids) are all Jambo season ticket holders and the rave about them. Although hearts I doubt would have faired any better as they were hopeless due to attackers misfiring and set up very defensively under Leven.

Take it you missed Carrick saying Pogba is going no where.

Haven't come across many expecting (or wanting) us to sign Bale. I certainly hope we don't. And also Pogba leaving? Hmm... certainly not widely expected within the fanbase here. Maybe a perception set by media more than anything else.

The first list is more realistic than yours and absolutely no one actually even thinks we'll sign all of those players (and it's still more realistic than yours)

I've watched Pogba a lot this season at Old Trafford and the criticism is a little unfair but he switches off too often for Jose and irrespective of what Carrick said, if Jose can use him as leverage in buying a more disciplined, more consistent game changer he will.

Can't see Sergej Milinokovic Savic and Pogba playing in the same side, not saying they wouldn't be devastating together, rather that Jose would never take the risk!

Most fans that live in Manchester genuinely believe Pogba is 50/50 on whether he' staying or leaving. No smoke without fire and whilst Raiola is his agent, Carricks comments although noble may be wide of the mark.

I genuinely hope I'm wrong but there is no way the board will let Jose spend 250 to 300 Million Pounds without recouping at least half of that sum back in player Sales.

Giuseppe Marotta: "Next week there will be a meeting with agents of Alex Sandro to try to extend his contract".

I don’t wanna play hardball with Juve all summer, if he’s not looking to sign in the next few weeks we should look elsewhere imo.

Sandro isn't going to the world cup, so this transfer has every chance of being a saga.

I think Juve are playing the same game Mourinho is playing, with reports that he is not sure whether to sell Darmian or not. I think it's just both the clubs trying to get the best possible deal. I hope

Not at the World Cup, therefore absolutely no reason this shouldn’t be tied up in the next few weeks if it’s going to happen at all.

My take too.

Would be a bitter blow if this doesn’t happen. I’m just so desperate to sort out LB and RB, it’s key.
Would throw the summer in the bin for me if we don't have two new fullbacks when the season starts.

Feck sake. We better not be starting Young next season.

I can see Young on the right side. He has deputized there this season already and is a much better attacking threat from that side than Valencia, who I think is done starting.

I think there is zero chance of us proceeding without a left back.

Wouldn’t be surprised to have Young as a deputy left/right back though with Valencia remaining and TFM being blooded there.

Defo a huge upgrade on Young, from my extensive viewing of Sandro (7min YouTube vid), he seems stronger and less likely to throw himself to the ground. Looks fast and confident enough to take players on, beat them and deliver a good cross.

They'd like to agree an extension. That doesn't sound so clear cut to me. If it was "to offer him a bumper new deal" then maybe. Surely we are not giving up on the only elite full back we've been linked with. Make it happen Jose.
