Alejandro Garnacho (out) | Chelsea make enquiries

If we have to let one of Garna or Mainoo go I’d prefer to see Garna leave. Love him as a player but I think Mainoo has a much higher ceiling.

We got him for less than a million(?) from Atletico Madrid I think so in terms of business it’s certainly good from us, which is very rare.

I hate this line of thought, it implies our money somehow multiplies while we actually just kicked the can down the road
I understand the sentiment however we can deal with the finances over the next 5 years more easily than we can deal with the finances this January where we are supposedly in a tight spot. Unfortunately INEOS are dealing with an absolute fuctercluck left by the Glazers we are going to have to kick some thing down the road and work very smartly over the next few years in order to try and get any sort of financial stability and sustainability back.

I rate both players but they both have issues they need to sort out to kick on to being great players.

If we need money this badly then Mainoo should be seen in the same light and sold for £50m if anyone is interested.

We could then bring in 6 players and we’ll be great again!

If we sold Mainoo for £50m I think I’d cry, that first season he had with us was nothing short of spectacular for a guy of his age.. being English as well that definitely adds some tax.

You can tell a lot on the quality of your player not just on the fee they command, but also on the suitors available.

If United want to challenge for top 4, they need better players than Garnacho, as a 20 y/o player if he really looked like one of the best prospects out there, we would be linked with Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG or other PL teams (bar Chelsea and their eternal youth exodia plan).

If Napoli is the leading candidate to sign your 'Gem' and you can't even expect him to nail a starting position in the next 18 months, he's not the kind of player you should be interested to build around.

Diallo, you can see he has something special, keeping Garnacho might be similar on doubling down with Rashford or Martial when most signs said "sell him and move on".
I am coming around to this view as well. Amad has that star quality about him - close ball control, great finishing under pressure, and ability to read games in addition to a dogged determination to keep going for 90 minutes and the kind of will to win you need for a forward at a big club.

Garnacho, for all this talent, has been in the vein of Rashford: the ability to produce the sublime occasionally but lacking somewhat in game intelligence. His celebrations have also been a concern to me, a little too self aware for a guy who still has it all to achieve in the game. You are not Ronaldo yet, mate. Having said that, I have seen him try to apply himself recently for the better of the team in a way I have never seen Rashford do; he has been trying to pick the right pass under Amorim.

In "normal" times, I would be all for keeping him to see if he can iron out the selfish parts of his game, develop an ability to hold the ball under pressure, and become more consistent. But if Sky are right about United being able to spend 150m+ if we sell Garnacho, then it is time to say goodbye and good luck.

I can't believe we have been reduced to selling our more promising players. The hits keep coming while supporting this club. I will be the annoying poster who will bump his thread every time he beats his man (which won't be many times considering this season).

Exactly what is it that people see in Garnacho? He makes poor decisions over and over again, he's so infuriating to watch.
You don't think the pricetag would be double if we were the buying club?
Garnacho has done lot more than Hojlund and we paid 75m for Hojlund. Lot of people defended the awful decision in that topic too. "young", "bag of talents", "most exciting player of this generation" "we'll get 10 years of him" etc....
I'm not against selling him, but If INEOS cave for anything less than 60m, they are fecking idiots like previous CEOs, simple as.

We don't have to sell.

That reflects more on our incompetence rather than on the market

Seems the same old recycled news everyday just wish we would hurry up and sell him and get it over and done with or come up and say he's staying, nothing worse than a long dragged out transfer saga

Ok it makes sense if we do actually then spend big.

So if Garnacho leaves we need to sign a striker and a winger/number 10.

Then Alvaro or Dorgu need to be signed for KWB regardless of if we sell Garnacho or not

Cunha/Mbuemo and Osimhen, however know that's highly unrealistic in this window

Because Adeyemi would be cheaper, good joke!

Hope we don't budge from our position.

He's already at 13 G+A this season, who exactly do you expect us to replace him with by the end of this transfer window? I haven't seen a link to a single player that can come in and bring that kind of immediate impact. If we're selling him for PSR reasons, why wouldn't we wait until the summer and let his value continue to rise while we can adequately line up proven forwards to bring into the team? You can't take a squad that's utterly starving for goals and sell one of the main goalscorers to bring in a wingback, that's utter madness.

Most of those were against Barnsley?

He's a good player, unfortunately looks like he's not arsed trying to do better.

That shot from the angle on Sunday says a lot about his intelligence and mentality on the pitch.

I wouldn't be averse to selling him, because recently I've been watching him more closely and while young players have ups and downs in terms if performance levels. There's things I notice in how he plays, ball control, passing, movement etc. I'm at a stage now where I don't see him ever becoming a top top player and cashing in now kind of makes sense.

I hate this line of thought, it implies our money somehow multiplies while we actually just kicked the can down the road
Not really. It’s literally just explaining the impact the transaction has on the PSR rules specifically. It is not intimidating anything else from a financial perspective.

Crazy that we consider selling him. Still one of our more productive player
and it appears for less than 70 million and will be even more daft if sold to another PL club whom you hope to compete for top 4/5 places in the seasons ahead.

Ruben when asked refused to answer the question and instead said the focus is on the Rangers game, will be interesting to see will Garnacho feature. it's a important game (need to finish in the top eight in the group) and Garnacho had two big goal involvements against Arsenal,Liverpool away recently.
