Alejandro Garnacho (out) | Chelsea make enquiries

I’m sure whoever scouted Hojlund and Zirkzee are already on the case looking for that next exciting attacking gem to take his place.

Seems pretty unlikely we’re trying to offload Malacia, Rashford, Casemiro, Garnacho, Antony and Rashford just to bring in Dorgu. In fact I’d say there is zero chance that’s the case.

This is INEOS I wouldn't be so sure of that. So to people who say look elsewhere to raise money any suggestions on names because I'm stumped

Interesting that the price being touted to Chelsea is almost the same price we paid for Mason Mount. In inflation adjusted terms, the prices actually are the same.

And given the disaster Mount has been, across the two transfers, it's like we're giving them a player for free.

Are people ignoring his age and what's he's done so far. This is madness, the lad was always going to hit bumps in the road but the kid who scored the overhead kick and has scored loads of brilliant goals is being shipped out.

We need to develop talent not sell it off.

Is Garnacho not magic for our PSR issues, like £60m would allow us to spend a lot more than that?

What if it meant someone like Osimhen is suddenly doable would it make more sense then?

Completely agree. Suggest this after the cup final and there'd have been uproar.

INEOS haven’t done a single thing to give the impression they aren’t here to win. They’ve just been shit at it. We spent every penny we were allowed to under PSR this summer - there’s no suggestion we wouldn’t then do the same this window with the Garnacho money.

Selling an exciting attacker for £50m and buying some random leftback from a crap league for £35m. This hurts.

Exactly this. Don’t get the excitement at all. We are scouting a dross player, with mix reviews whether he’s a LWB or RW (2 very different positions). It’s screams typical United to sell one of the the biggest young prospects in Europe, currently playing for a very bad team, and replace him with a LWB no one has heard of for £15m less.

Blame the board for wasting so much on mediocrity and pushing PSR line, if that hadn't happened we wouldn't need to sell him now

I don’t understand it. Makes no sense to replace an attacker with a left back. Antony’s gone, Rashford possibly going and now Garnacho. We’re very short in attack, we need at least 2 more attackers. Preferably AMs

Is Garnacho really that exciting?
Amad struggled to get a game last year , granted ETH didn’t help but look at him now. Garnacho is 20 there’s huge opportunity for him to improve . He has the highest G&A this season and we seem happy to sell him to a rival for £60 million while we are also negotiating with a club for a player no one has heard of for £30 million. Father Ted and Father Dougal would run the club better.

I don’t believe we’re selling him, never mind to Chelsea. Would be bad business all round.

Napoli seems the most serious, hopefully we can squeeze them or Chelsea Gazump them.

The Chelsea interest is great - we can use it to get Napoli to pay up quickly. I’ve never been his biggest fan and I really don’t see how his skillset will ever good enough in this system because he can’t play inside in tight areas or receive the ball with his bask to goal - but we shouldn’t be selling him to Chelsea - he’s going to end up being a very good left winger I think.

This. People are struggling to get the fact that players who don't suit what the manager wants or needs, have to go.

Keeping players that clearly don't work in a squad is what will leave it to remain jumbled up and imbalanced.
You know what would be really, really fecking stupid? Building a squad which only 1% of top managers could get a tune out of.

And when Amorim is sacked in a few months, we can start by buying the next Antony

Okay no need to get personal by calling me deluded, grow up. It's called opinions, I think you may need to assess why you are on here and drop your narcissistic traits.

I think this boy is brilliant and will develop into a even better player. Only 6 months ago, fans were begging for him to start, a bad few months and people are writing him off. The issue right now, he does not fit into this system. Secondly, we have an entire team playing rubbish. If you have played football before, you will know that others around you can impact your own performance.

He likes to hug the touchline and cut in. Playing more centrally in a 343 limits this. i don't think he is adaptable to this role, personally. I can see him starting at many clubs, maybe not Liverpool, but i can at City and for sure Newcastle. It's just your word against mine, it's called an opinion dude.
Liverpool wouldn’t be far fetched. I’d argue he’s a better player than Gakoo, at least more potential - and thus would get plenty of playing time. Arsenal, would challenge for that LW spot.

Or another perspective is that you can find dozens of attackers like Garnacho on the market, with at least the same amount of potential, whereas Dorgu is looking like the next physical freak LWB of the Davies/Mendes mould

The thought we might actually be selling Garnacho utterly disgusts me.
It’s widely accepted we have one of the worst collection of attacking players in the top 10, we need at least 3 top signings in that area to ever hope to challenge for big trophies and despite our “star” attacker in rashford being awol Garnacho doesn’t start…oh and he plays in a position Amorim doesn’t actually play. Explain how it’s disgusting? Flogging him abroad for 60+ million would be the most logical thing we’ve done in 11 years.

Checked the sentiments on Chelsea reddit and the Shed End forum. General consensus is that they're very much against any deal for Garnacho at any reasonable price.

The general view is that he's not great, and is distinctly average. He's not better than the other four wingers that they have.

Once you remove yourself from the sentimental echo chamber that is Redcafe, the view of him is significantly more balanced
