Alejandro Garnacho (out) | Chelsea make enquiries

Because your premise is flawed.

Replacing an ill-suited player who has no practical function within this system with a player, scouted continually, who is a correct profile is absolutely the right choice.

And that's before considerations of "pure profit" and what Garnacho leaving for £59m does for our spending capital moving forward.

Even his so-called potential is debatable. The egregious error is presuming that a player being this good at 20 means that he will be that much better when he's 25., when there's plentiful evidence that quick and early growths can, and do, top out very early in their careers.

Garnacho isn't going to add qualities to his game that make him viable for no. 10 role. He doesn't have that in him. Not the passing, or the vision, or the decision making.

Okay pal, thanks for the reply. If I need to know anything else about football I will look you up.

If we sell Garnacho we will regret it. If we sell him to Chelsea, we'll have our noses rubbed in that regret on a regular basis.

I get it - United are completely broke and need to make sales to be able to make purchases, but we have other saleable assets.

Anyone getting giddy about a potential £50-£60m fee should remember that this is the club that spent £360m on Antony, Hojlund, Sancho, Casemiro and Mount - we'll throw the Garnacho fee away on someone who will widely be considered "deadwood" within 12 months.

I really don't get this.

Honest question, even if he is not a starter, who do we have in attack off the bench for the rest of this season? And assuming Rashford is done here too.

No way I would sell him this window, but I understand many opposing points above. We can not count on signing any quality to replace him this window.

They got £55 million off us for Mount didn’t they? We should be adding £20 million on top of that for that shafting

He shouldn't be a starter here and he isn't half the time, he is not ready and he is not that great, he has direct pace and not a lot else ad not the hardest worker, do not get me wrong that is good enough to be a valuable asset but a starter for who? Maybe Napoli only because they have just sold Kvara but not Chelsea... you think he would start for Liverpool, Arsenal, City or even Newcastle? would not start for any of the top teams in Germany, Spain, France or Italy (other than Napoli), think you are deluded if you think he is that good.... arguably he has not yet reached his full potential, but right now not a chance in hell
Okay no need to get personal by calling me deluded, grow up. It's called opinions, I think you may need to assess why you are on here and drop your narcissistic traits.

I think this boy is brilliant and will develop into a even better player. Only 6 months ago, fans were begging for him to start, a bad few months and people are writing him off. The issue right now, he does not fit into this system. Secondly, we have an entire team playing rubbish. If you have played football before, you will know that others around you can impact your own performance.

He likes to hug the touchline and cut in. Playing more centrally in a 343 limits this. i don't think he is adaptable to this role, personally. I can see him starting at many clubs, maybe not Liverpool, but i can at City and for sure Newcastle. It's just your word against mine, it's called an opinion dude.

While I don't mind if he's sold (for good money), there are a few others that I would sell first. Am sure the club feels the same, except there are no takers for Rashford & Antony. We're not hearing much about Casemiro's move either, sadly.

It must be to fund position specific players in this window such as a LWB or Striker.

I said I'm fine with selling him.

But feck selling him to Chelsea. They are basically getting him for free after dumping Mount here.

£59m is acceptable even if we're selling to Chelsea...although it should be closer to £65m in the case of a domestic rival IMO. I'd definitely accept £59m from Napoli, though, even in January, if it accelerates our rebuild by massively helping PSR.

We will regret this mark my words , absolute bonkers to be selling him to Chelsea for anything less than £70 million

I just can't see me regretting it, he is on the Rashford track. He thought he already reached , before he did. Runs into too many blind alley's for me and it's so frustrating.

Who do you believe can fetch 50-60m pounds in January?

£70m would be great but it would be above even a hypothetical peak valuation. Although Chelsea have definitely been willing to go above peak value with Caicedo and Enzo as the two best examples of that.

If we sell him and don’t bring in another attacker this month I will be absolutely fuming.
Garnacho, Antony and Rashford all possibly leaving this window. You would hope atleast 2 replacements are brought in. Hopefully good quality.

This. People are struggling to get the fact that players who don't suit what the manager wants or needs, have to go.

Keeping players that clearly don't work in a squad is what will leave it to remain jumbled up and imbalanced.

If results carry on Amorim isn’t going to last himself.

I’ll be very sour if he goes to Chelsea.

I will too. One of the brightest talents in the world. One shit season don’t change that. It’s not only him who can’t deliver at the moment.

The price must be too good to reject if we sell to them and it’s not going to be. It feels like we go from failure to failure at the moment.
