Whether this is a clause in that pathetic takeover they were allowed to extract themselves from Roman, or that ridiculous hotel thing they were allowed to do, I just don't get how Chelsea are seemingly unaffected by PSR.
They have to follow the same rules as everyone else, but they used a loophole that is now closed initially, they used 7-8 year contracts to amortise their purchases, the wages are not as big and they've also sold a lot of academy players, tjose long contracts will probably hurt them in the long run though espically if the players don't work out for them

Mowbray really managed his game time well in the Championship too, at that point in his career he had barely played any first-team football. Mowbray was fantastic for his development and deserves a lot of credit.
I'll take your word for it as I'm not familiar enough with his Sunderland time to know

Conflicted on this, on the one hand it could be a shrewd sell as I’m not sure he’s good enough. On the other, I think at the present moment selling him makes us look really weak. Perception is key.

Napoli won’t be paying 70m. Where they getting that money from?
They're selling Kvaratskhelia this window and Osimhen will be sold by the summer window at the latest.

They spent 90m on Osimhen years ago so they can definitely splurge when they have funds

I’d rather we sold Rashford. Garnacho is still only 20 years old. Unless we’re targeting Dibling I’d rather we kept Garnacho and try and improve him in the position Amorim wants

I've criticised him a lot but have mixed feelings about selling him. The football romantic tells me, despite his shortcomings, for a 'proven' player this young, we should utilising his qualities until we can't e.g mostly off the bench and squad rotation, especially as he's on a reasonable contract.

However, he's probably our most saleable (large) asset and for the financial future of the club because we've been run so poorly, I wouldn't be against a fee of at least £55m+ from abroad and £70m+ domestically. Obviously we should be offloading Casemiro and the likes of Antony first, perhaps even Hojlund but those are probably unrealistic and would receive smaller returns based on FFP.

The game in Scotland is way more physical than the PL , he wasn't physically developed enough TBH, that was a piss-poor decision to send him there on loan IMO
The pitches are shite as well, which for someone who likes to dribble as much as Diallo must have been annoying. Sure, Ibrox and Celtic Park might be fine but have you ever seen Aberdeen's stadium during the Autumn months?

If we can't do anything with a young talent at the level of Garnacho, we may as well pack it in and load our squad with the likes of Matic, Zlatan, Ighalo, Cavani, Sanchez, etc.

At first I was thinking no way, but the more I’ve thought about it, the more I’m coming round to the idea of selling him.

I get he has some development to come but I don’t envisage him being a starter in Amorim’s system due to his technical limitations and I can’t think of many games where he’s impressed me when he has started. He seems more of an impact player from the bench and it’s therefore a lot of money to turn down

I’d only do it on the premise the money went on 1-2 incoming players though and ideally in the summer and not now.

tough call. Dont think he fits in this formation amorin wants, plus is incredibly inconsistent. Has the ability to score worldies though. Could be a similar situation to martial. I thought it wouldve been an incredibly stupid thing to sell martial when it was rumored Mou wanted to do so, but in retrospect obviously that wouldve been a great decision. Could be something similar here where in 5 years we are thinking about how we couldve sold garnacho for 50-70 million and reinvested that well.

This is a real photo from Pittodree, doesn’t even show the 20 million Seagull that have no fear and are twice the size of an average seagull.

Selling Garnacho seems like madness, but if he doesn’t suit the system and we are in a PSR hole then I guess…

We can't sell Rashford. Hes a lazy scumbag on a ridiculous wage. Gernacho is by far our best asset for generating a significant fee

If we sell him for less than 90/100 to Chelsea then we are idiots

£50m plus McT back
Why would we want mctominay back? He wasn't good enough first time round. I'm glad he's playing well in Italy which is a lower standard but still a good league. But as far as United is concerned, he's just not good enough for where we want to be.

Napoli at 55 million and Chelsea will be min. 80 million. I believe transfer will slowly be in check. If you look, clubs are spending less money on players. Italian clubs are poor, Spanish clubs except for Real are not spending much. Even in England, only Chelsea is signing players for crazy money. With Ineos running United, we will see us going for young potential players with realistic fee. I would take Chelsea 80 million for sure. Not because Garnacho isn't good but he really doesn't fit Amorim system.
