Alejandro Garnacho (out) | Chelsea make enquiries

Other than Amad he’s our only attacking threat, we can’t afford to lose him and not bring a replacement in and it’s too late in the window for that I feel. Give the kid the rest of the season to try and adjust to Amorims system and revisit this in the summer.

thats bs. This whole „he does not suit his system“ has to stop. Hes 20. can easliy adapt. Even stevie wonder could see that garnacho is our best attacking threat
He's a winger that likes to hug the touchline. Amorim is already accommodating him by inverting the left wing back so that he can play wider, but that just doesn't suit the system at all. If he can adapt to the system, there are zero signs I'm seeing that he's there yet.

And he's clearly not our best attacking threat, because Amad is the only one that creates anything in virtually every game?

Need to keep him and let him have the summer and pre season to see if he can adapt to the new role properly.

If we take him out of this squad now we will really feel it as he makes things happen.

Nah, his game is completely ill suited to what the team needs. It's not about adapting, it's simply not what he's good at.

I wish we'd try him up front as Rasmus and Big Zee are not necessarily offering much. Garnacho will be a nuisance at least

That they're shit. I thought that was obvious.

True but it just goes to show we shouldn’t sell at least not yet until a proper player is lined up, we won’t magically get a decent attacking replacement in the last week

Selling Garnacho will get us that young LB and Nkunku on loan…the squad is instantly worse for me

People are convinced that a 20 year cant adapt. Doesn’t fit the system, doesn’t have skillset etc. Yet Amorim keeps picking him up

Selling him for 50-55m will be stupid move from us. We wont be able to buy anyone worth buying for less money anyway

And whats about giving this young lad a bit time? I guess garnacho its not our biggest problem. Lets give him time. If youre right, which i highly doubt, it’s still time to sell him later. United is and was still about bringing talents from the academy to the First Team to fullfill his potential. Sell him now it’s against all our principles. He plays in a shit Team, thats probably the Main Problemy

100 agree.

I had a quick check out of curiosity and Amad and Garnacho had pretty similar stats tonight against Fulham

Like the co-commentator said, lose Garnacho and your already limited options look bloody dreadful.

It'd mean Hojlund-Bruno-Amad have to start every single game, and the only even vaguely first team level attacker is then Zirzkee.

Or hope that Mount can put in what he hasn't in 18 months, a mix of regular appearances, and those being good.

100 agree.
You're more likely to stifle his development playing him out of position and not to strengths. He's a touchline hugging winger, his technique is never going to improve, that's set in stone for most players by the time they're 14 and he won't ever be a player who excels at one touch or link up play.

Not opposed to keep him till the end of the season because our attack is rank but the manager needs players who suit their roles rather than forcing someone to be what they'll never be.

Who cares that he is not suited for this system. He is 20 years old. He could have another 13 seasons at united. We probably won’t be playing this system in 1-2 years.

Which is exactly the problem we've had. Holding onto players over building a team.

Amorim looks visibly annoyed with him and Dalot in the second half. Dalot drifting inside and Garnacho outside when he wanted the opposite.

You think a 20 year old is going to improve and increase in value playing in a system he's not suited to for three years? We'll be lucky if he's worth 30 million when he's 23 if we have this sort of mentality.

No, the problem is needing an entire squad overhaul everytime we hire a new manager.
We should build a balanced team, then hire a manager to get the most out of it.
We do need a squad overhaul whoever the manager is. We just need not to do what we've been doing for over a decade, stuffing it up at every opportunity.

I don't think he's leaving, Ruben clearly rates him and he's not somebody you want to piss off right now even as an owner.

He hasn't had any big injuries and he is only 20 so I'm confused as to where his explosiveness has gone. He seemed to have a far quicker burst of acceleration when he first came on the scene. That's nowhere to be seen nowadays.

As I've stated multiple times I'm fine with the decision either way. You guys think I hate him when that is not true at all...

Just don't think he's that good.
Glad to hear it. If we sell him I’ll accept the decision (not agree with it though) and hope we improve the overall first 11.

As if they wouldn't look dreadful right now. Our attack looks abysmal and we create next to nothing. What are you afraid of would happen, if we lose Garnacho? Score negative goals? There is just one serious danger about any Garnacho deal - that we fail to re-invest the money well. Everything else is just 2nd priority. Look at how we play, we deserve to be in the table where we are. To get out of this rut, we need to invest into the squad and for this, we have to sell players.

I am glad seeing people that got this. I would rather not selling talented youngsters, I really don't but the status quo is, that most of the starting lineup doesn't look like they have a future with us. We have to invest heavily, completely independent on who the manager is. People act as if Garnacho was incredible at any point in time. Truth is he is a moments player and always has been. No shame in that, he is young but that also means he is one of the few people we at least have the chance to generate funds with

It’d be stupidity to sell him.

Hes not had his best season but the issue if we are completely reliant on him. Until the emergence of Amad under Amorim, we were reliant on Garnacho doing something.

We put unfair and unrealistic pressure on young players.

You have to trust Amorim on this, whether Garnacho stays or leaves is up to the manager. As long as there is a plan in place for improvement then I'm happy either way.

The left wing back inverts because we don’t have a left footed wing back so whichever of Dalot or Mazraoui that plays there has to come inside which means Garnacho has to provide width, did you not see how many times Dalot could have crossed the ball on Thursday night but instead cut back and came inside leaving us with zero width ?
Nah, his game is completely ill suited to what the team needs. It's not about adapting, it's simply not what he's good at.
Amorim seems to think different seeing as he himself says that Garnacho is improving in every aspect, maybe with a left footed wing back outside him Garnacho can come inside more but we’ve not been effective down that side since Rashford/Shaw a couple of years ago due to injuries (Shaw and Malacia) and form (Rashford) and at 20 years old with a new system Garnacho isn’t going to suddenly look like prime Ronaldo
Amorim looks visibly annoyed with him and Dalot in the second half. Dalot drifting inside and Garnacho outside when he wanted the opposite.
Amorim looks visibly annoyed every game because we’ve got no wing backs, no scoring strikers, slow build up, a keeper who can’t be trusted with simple things, a big name who refuses to even train properly and a squad full of dross but being forced into playing a right back who constantly cuts in every time he has the ball and a 20 year old developing into a new role is probably low on the list
