Alejandro Garnacho (out) | Chelsea make enquiries

Do people think this player is irreplaceable and not worth selling for £60 million?

You'll have to scroll right down to the bottom to see him.

350 posts in this thread. Have you managed to convince many who don’t want him sold yet?

How is including goals scored against the likes of Barnsley helpful and not blatant stat padding to suit your narrative?

The simple fact is that he can't do it in the Premier League or Europe.
So you're picking out 1 league cup game from 1.5 seasons of actual stats and per 90 league metrics showing he's a top talent? Right, good talk. You're being ridiculous.

Maybe it's me, I must be watching a different match to some of you because I thought I was bang average. Rattled a couple of crosses against defenders and missed a hat full chances.

Apparently that was a statement performance against Rangers so I'll take the statement I suppose.

Yeah, I feel the same. If that performance was enough to change peoples opinion on selling him it says more about them than anything else. It was a very typical Garnacho performance.

He's not very good and he's getting sold. You should probably just get over it. It won't be very hard to replace him.

He's 20, and he's among the most productive u21 player in world football. "His end product is basically non existent" though, because he's had some bad finishing this season? Don't you realize how ridiculous it is to shit on a 20 year old for some bad finishing despite constantly getting among chances? The biggest problem a player could have is not getting among the chances. Getting chances and missing them... Well everyone who has watched football for more than 3 years knows that isn't that big of a problem and it tends to turn around before long. Especially for a fecking 20 year old.
I remember Vinicius being a player who had no end product and then one day it all came together. People on this forum didnt want to sign him when some transfer gossip came up. I think a lot of people have unrealistic expectations of young players these days.

Then how do we improve the squad without any money coming in?

We won't improve the squad enough in January to do shit this season anyway, even if we bring in a full back or two. The logical thing to do if to wait until the summer to access our options.

So because Vinicius became very good then it means Garnacho will? I don't understand why people use this logic.

One of the best and most productive U21 forwards in Europe!

Jesus we are going to sign the next lowest player on that list to play LWB and try and make a tidy little profit while we are at it

I don't know about selling Garnacho. Like would we have sold Adnan when his stock was highest? Supposedly PSG were into buying him after his breakout season for big money. Hindsight says we should have snapped their hand off. So with Garnacho, like Adnan he's done some ridiculous things. He's a natural flair player but if he doesn't have the mentality the manager or these more hands on owners think is the right fit... then as big of a call as it is that's what they are there for. Berrada and co also sold Cole Palmer for relative peanuts... I just feel like these guys don't have a clue what they are at right now.

Buddy, you are obsessed. 23/24, top 5 leagues and cups for players 19 or younger - 4th. 23/24, top 5 leagues only for players 19 or younger - 4th. 24/25, top 5 leagues and cups for players 20 and younger - 4th. But because you found a permutation for a half season where he's had some bad luck in finishing you are hanging your hat on that
That's a joke man, you are better than that. You're embarassing yourself in here.

Vinicius regularly was among chances, and just had inconsistent end product as most young players do. He matured, like what happens to players when they get older than 20, and it clicked.

Most of them are probably replying to dumb posts like this.
Admittedly I don’t venture into transfer threads too often. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so obsessed. I’d kind of get it if it was us trying to sign a player as there is some level of excitement with new arrivals. But this is offloading a talent with potential.

It’s not a good thing for many supporters. Don’t know why you can’t quite grasp this

This Chelsea interest, could it be that they plan to get Mainoo in the future and getting Garnacho now would help?

Being smug about the club being in a shit financial state that we might sell one of our best talents who came from the academy is beyond fecked up man. Have a look at yourself.

There's no market for them because they're terrible. Selling your better players in that case isn't the best idea or strategy.
Yeah I agree, so why do so many posters keep repeating that all these players should be sold instead?

INEOS want to overhaul the squad but can't because of spending rules, Garnacho sold for 60m allows them 3x that. If you think the trade off isn't worth it then that's fine but the amount of posters who don't seem to grasp this is the scenario we're in is mind boggling.

I'm entitled to my opinion as are you. I'm not being rude or disrespectful to anyone so what do you care if I have the most posts in the thread?

The vast majority will be tweets that I have posted. I'm invested in him leaving because I think it will really help us improve the team with the money if you must know so I'm happy for him to go. I don't dislike him or anything, I hope he has a good career elsewhere but my focus is on Manchester United and wanting them to be better.

We might sale him and replace him with an Antony Version of a number 10.

What if Amorim doesnt succeed with his niched formation ? Amorim is sacked, we loan Nacho's replacement, hire a new coach who plays 4 at the back ,we start looking for a new wingers to buy. Sounds like United of the lat 10 years

This club has gone mad if they sell Garnacho this window
We only have 2 attacking wing players in Amad and Garnacho assuming Rashford is leaving.
Where do you find a replacement of Garnacho quality in a week?
It’s just stupid and madness.
We have a small squad and are still in a relegation battle, Fa cup and the Europa League

I'm not intending to be smug I'm happy that we are going to get good money for a player who I don't think is that good.

Because very few attacking players are good in terms of output at a young age. The analysis should be more about skill, technique, work ethic etc as the end product will eventually come.

Ok great, if we sell Garna for 60m do you think we're spending 180m in the last week of the window? Who are we signing? Patrick Dorgu? Glad we're selling one of our best talents to sign a random danish left back which 1 year under him.

I'd rather keep him, because I don't think United should be a club that sells their best talents, especially the type of player Garnacho is, to fund other transfers. And given our history of signings .. why would anyone think we will actually improve the squad with these signings? Did the Zirkzee or Hojlund signings fill people with confidence in our recent attacking signings?

Exactly. Selling a young player is bad enough but selling him now with where we stand is borderline madness

Don't want him sold but we've got ourselves in this situation where it has to happen to raise some funds. Shame.

What do you mean by 'where we stand'?
It’s obvious isn’t it? We are bottom half of the table and having the worst season in decades. We need all the players at our disposal to get through the season. If we sell Garnacho and don’t bring someone in then it’s madness

I assumed he meant financially to be honest.
