Eh, even before going in to the attitude discussion, he's just not very good. Somehow people have convinced themselves he has world class potential and their love for any academy player just blinds them. Only having good off the ball movement doesn't make you a player with world class potential. There's other facets to the game which he absolutely sucks at.

There's no real doubting that... whether he realises it is another question entirely.

There's plenty of doubting that!

He doesn't have great pace or acceleration, which is often a necessity for forward players, and he doesn't have the ability on the ball or intelligence in his play to make up for it.

Bar a few purple patches, his ceiling is as a dangerous and unpredictable impact substitute for a top level club.

I wasn't at all fussed when he was substituted. I don't understand why it was such a shocking decision by Amorim. If he's moved on in the summer, we may go for Cunha.
Same here. When a siege mentality is called for, Garnacho isn’t exactly the first name that springs to mind

He can jog on. Maybe if he wasn't completely useless in tracking back he wouldn't have been subbed but Amorim made the correct decision which means he just looks like a petulant child throwing his toys out of the pram. For me any club offering 40m for him in the summer can have him.

I've watched him since the FA Youth Cup, he was exciting then and head and shoulders above the other players. He's come into this absolutely horrible United side and has been one of the better players. He has frightening potential but that's all it is currently. His trajectory has unfortuately levelled out a bit this season but my opinion is he is still extremely gifted and could become one of the best in the world.

I just don't see it, he's physically outmatched by most of the defenders he comes up against, hence his poor dribbling success rate with us, and he has his head down whenever he receives the ball, which contributes heavily to his wastefulness.

He'd need to rebuild his game from the ground up to hit the heights you're suggesting he can.

He's just not that good.

He stands out in a squad full of dross but he'd struggle to even make the bench at a Liverpool or Real Madrid and he wouldn't start for teams like Brighton or Bournemouth.

Him, Mainoo and Amad have all been massively overhyped because they've been chinks of light in a very dark time.

It's quite telling that the only clubs that showed an interest in him in January were a club that will buy almost anyone and an Italian league club. I think he'd do well for Napoli as the Italian League is about his level.

Thought he was interlinking with Dorgu better and made the right decisions until his bad decision to shoot instead of passing to hojlund.

I also don't get the whole "lazy" aspect people are seeing because I'm seeing him tracking back and pressing all the time.

Probably time he goes though, doesn't seem like him and Amorim are meant for each other. Still find it nuts that he hasn't played as a wingback.

In a normal world, that's exactly the role a 20-year old should have at Manchester United for the most part.
True. Hes no Ronaldo, or Giggs and as you say should only now be starting from the bench, if we were still a successful team.

One thing that struck me last night when he went off, he didn't applaud the fans, again.

He has history for petulance and is a very selfish player, I hope we sell him in summer.
I watched the video and didnt see your commment and was going to say the same. Thats the right way to enamour you to the fans

Answers on a postage stamp as to who is available and is better than Garnacho for £60 million assuming that’s we got for him. The important part, being better.
Cunha. Think he can be gotten for around £60 million and is better by far. A proper No 10

Hes a Cristiano wannabe. Even acting a petulant child just like him. (Only with a fraction of the talent.). For me, behaviour like that cancels out alot of the hard work hes done since being dropped for the City game.

Shows how easily influenced and suggestible some of these young players these days are. Mentalities of 12 year olds.

A shame, because I like him as a player, been our biggest threat this last few weeks (i know thats not hard), and he has the potential to be a great player if he knuckles down. At the minutes he's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.

A far cry though from our young players bursting on the scene being on the level and mentality of the likes of Giggs & Rooney.

Nope. Metrics bare out that Amad has played well. Hype for him is deserved.

He's scored six goals, half of which were against Southampton at home.

None of these players are anything special they are just a bit better than the rest of the squad. If Amad were put up for sale in the summer he wouldn't have all the big clubs trying to sign him. If he was THAT good he'd have had loads of interest before he signed a new contract with us, but we were the best option he had available.

An English club doing a lot better than United in the league, and an Italian team fighting for the title.

That is definitely telling, probably not in the way you wanted it to be though....

I'm glad someone else sees it. We're supposed to be so impressed by his goals for his age but he's playing for the worst United team in decades would he even see the field this much if he played for a better team? That and he shoots every time he touches the ball.

I would sell personally but if they want to keep him it's got to be on United's terms, low wages, be still has a lot to prove to me. Can't have another Rashford situation.

Given the fact that Garnacho has a poor attitude, is selfish, more often than not chooses the wrong option, and isn’t a particularly good finisher or passer, I don’t think that feat is as hard as you suggest.

There are plenty. Point isn't about getting a better player but rather selling one of our own who has huge potential.

Cunha,Eze , Kudos, Mbeumo - all.are better than him and would suit Amorims play style. This is just from PL. Pretty sure , if we have awide scouting network you can identify more for 60m.

Even now, you're overrating his potential. There are far, far better young players in his age group. His technique isn't even all that.

There's not a huge amount that's correct in this paragraph.
In fact I'd go so far as to say nothing is especially correct.

He gets away with bloody murder. No clue when the academy turned this toxic.

Not going to back read but has news filtered through here that he signalled to the bench that he was going down the tunnel to change his shirt? I know we have a hate boner for everyone right now.

His finishing is below standard for what we need. He’s missed some big chances this season and some really stand out. The Spurs one most recent. His inability to hold onto the ball, rather than release another is also quite high. I don’t think we will miss him but at the same time, getting deployed as in out and out winger in a counter attacking side I could see him doing well.

No, because people have agendas, love the drama and have made up their minds.

I haven't really posted about it or followed the story much (not being on Twitter, Instagram, etc).

Did he reappear to sit on the bench for the second half? If so, that certainly suggests it wasn't a strop and he was just changing his wet shirt. If not, that needs further explaining why he didn't reappear with a dry shirt.

Having just looked up Amorim's quote, he seemed to suggest he'd speak with Garnacho about it after the game. Which seems strange if he could have just said: 'Nothing to it. He was just changing his wet shirt and sat on the bench all the second half supporting the team'. His response seems to suggest there was maybe more to find out and be explained about the situation, but hopefully not. We desperately can't afford to have another key player falling out with the manager and being disciplined. Our squad is stretched enough as it is.

I hope he isn’t one of those looking for “freedom”.

I think he has suffered under ruben. The formation doesn’t seem to suit him and i am not sure he would transform into a 10

Do you remember others who made it to highest level at the age of 21 ?

Not sure if you are asking me to name World class stars at 21 or players who were better than Garnacho at 21… I assume it’s the latter so of course… just off the top of my head…
Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrigo, Musiala, Camavinga, Pedri, Trent, Haaland, Nico Williams, Wirtz, Bernardo, Sterling, Saliba, Rice…
Just players who are playing now who were/are unbelievable talents by 21. This is leaving off the previous generation of Rooney, Giggs, Owen etc etc.
What makes you ask?

20 year old footballer in disappointment at subbed early shocker.

He should be coming off doing big thumbs ups to the manager, geeing all the other players up and leading a rousing rendition of "you can do it boys" with the crowd.

Every player who gets subbed off is unhappy. But they suck it up and sit with their team mates on the bench. They also don’t make silly posts on social media after the match.
I don’t mind a player being wounded about being taken off when there is a fraud upfront
