Garancho is not remotely similar to rashford. makes some poor decisions but works incredibly hard, seems genuinely motivated to be as good as he can possibly be and has returned 8 goals and 4 assists in this dysfunctional season at 20. Absolutely worth some close management and a wake up call
Reading this time and again really grinds me. No, he doesn't work "incredibly" hard. It's average at best. If he worked incredibly hard that West Ham first goal doesn't happen nor that situation where Casemiro had to shout at him.

He's better than Rashfords non existent workrate which probably makes people think he has awesome workrate when it clearly is not the case.

I hope seeing what Amad manages to do puts a firecracker up his ass. He is still a very bright young talent. If he can get his head down and work his socks off to get back in the team that would be a really big boost to the team. Amad is a little alone up front at times…

Don’t know the ins and outs of why he was dropped but we missed his ability to run in behind today.

I think our best front 3 is Amad, Garnacho & Hojlund. It’s the most balanced. Hopefully today was a bit of a wake up call for him.

We'd have hammered them today with him on the pitch, they couldn't handle the ball in behind and were sitting ducks.

He's still young and I suspect Amorim will factor this in when evaluating him but we have had a few issues previously with his attitude. Hope he sorts himself out. Could still get to around 20 goals this season.

Wonder if his dropping is due to the leaks.
Even so, Amorim has shown he’s taking zero passengers on this journey

If he’s confirmed as the one leaking then get him out of the club.

Beating these cnuts in their own backyard with Garnacho not even in the squad should let him know that he's not indispensable to the club. Not by a long shot.

He's a snowflake and can't seem to handle criticism. Nothing on his socials about the win either, can imagine him sulking at home.

Maybe or he could well have been useless or a liability. Garnacho and Rashford both have to learn about playing as part of the team and adjust their attitudes at times.

Garnacho has a chance now to come back better and I hope he takes it as there is a lot of potential there.

The attitude is a significant problem. If the rumours about the leaks are true, then he should be a goner.

Always with the leaks stuff with this club isn't it!
Garnacho I thought was one of the good ones, seemed to have a good attitude etc.

Garnacho has issues with his attitude, it's clear to see and also to see with his social media activity. He likes things he shouldn't like knowing its a statement if he does.

He's a great talent but let's not get carried away he's not a Wayne Rooney or Cristiano Ronaldo. If he is too big for his boots, do what Sir Alex would have done. Show him the door and replace him with someone more suitable to our coaches system. Have we not learned from Rashford that blowing up someone's ego can destroy a career.

Hopefully he can find his way back under Amorim.

He should be looking at Amad as a role model and Garnacho has the ability to be as effective. Would be great to have these two guys battling out there for us.

The club should take a firm grip of this lad and bring him into line.
He’s young enough to be saved from going down the same plug hole that far too many talented young players have sunk.

Maybe Amorim should try to play him at LWB? Dalot is not doing well anyway, and it may also have a humbling effect on Garnacho?

Young lad with a lot going on.

Whip him into shape but keep and work on him. Let him know he's on a final warning and see.

In the league this season, we’ve won one game that he started.

As a starter 1-4-5 (points 7/30)
As a sub 4-0-1 (12/15)
Not featured 1-0-0

I'm sure he's still seething at his omission today, but I really hope he wakes up tomorrow with a cool head and takes stock of his situation. How lucky he is to be earning what he does, playing for one of the most recognisable clubs on the planet.

He is a talented young player that I wouldn't want to leave. But he needs to humble himself, sacrifice personal glory for the team, and cut out the histrionics.

If he is prepared to admit to himself that he is straying from the straight and narrow, gets his head down and starts to build a reputation as a team player, then I still have hope that he can continue his upward trajectory here.

Those stats are telling…
In the interest of fairness, he had a pretty big part in the Brentford game we won, and was subbed on to get an assist in the Fulham game.

There’s a few games in there that were terrible team performances that he could do nothing about.

Also some decent performances in other competition omitted.

But aye it doesn’t read great.

We could start with taking his brother away. If it doesn’t help to prevent leaks, then…

If we have to confiscate a player’s family member to stop them doing detrimental things to the team, then perhaps he isn’t a player we want to keep around.

(IF he is the one leaking of course - and that’s a big when I we know is speculation).

People need to remember he's still very young so I think at this stage any petulant stuff needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. He probably needs someone at the club to put an arm round his shoulder and reassure him if anything.

Fully on board with having a manager who won't pick players if they drop below the standards required or show petulance, even if it hurts us in the immediate term. I think we've been crying our for that and its something Ten Hag did initially and worked. I just don't think when you're dealing with a 20 year old who plays with an ego and a lot of emotion that it means anything terminal.

Performances like Amad's today need to be the standard bearer. Not in terms of ability but the work rate and character. If we're rewarding players for those performances, it sends a message to every player atvtge club and young players like Garnacho are a lot easier to influence.

Those stats are telling…

I dont think so. Today was the first time he hasnt started when we've played against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Spurs aka the top 6 last season. He scored in the community shield after coming on as sub against City, and then he played in all those matches before today in the league. Our results in those matches against the top clubs have been terrible. So his record is going to look terrible. Part of the reason why we have a poor record in those matches might be him, but in those matches the same would be said for 75-80% of the other players in those matches. We normally have 1 or 2 who played decent and all the rest were poor.

He has missed matches against easier teams that we'd be expected to do better against than those matches. So its not quite as simple as face value. If he played in each game against the weaker teams than the top 6 he'd probably have more goals and assists. Usually he still came off the bench in those matches and hes had some contributions coming off the bench, and he's had some contributions starting. But he has had some poor games where he is particularly wasteful and doesnt seem too suited to where hes been picked since Amorim came in, in his recent run of games. He can clearly be expected to improve on that regardless of position and whether he starts or is on the bench

He is still our top goal scorer this season, which is surprising. His stats are better than his performances somehow

I think its also to do with how frustrating he can be at times when making the wrong decision or not getting his shot on target, even if he does score in the match

Like you say all competitions hes our top scorer, but in the league has has found it tougher

Garnacho had a way to big role for way to long. He needs a good shake, hopefully he will give his all but Amorim is on the right track about him and Rashford.
