Yeah no room in team for our top goal scorer. But room for some of the other trash? What are people smoking.
I've been thinking about the system Amorim is likely to implement and I find it difficult to find a place for Garnacho in it.
Not defensively minded (nor physically strong) enough to play wing back; not technical enough nor with the decision making acumen to play as one of the 10s behind the front man. Where do people see him fitting in that I'm not seeing?
Great news that they are not fatal as I would like the young man to be around for a long time yet. It’s not far fetched to think he may not fit this system. He has some flaws in his game (they aren’t fatal because he can improve if he puts in the work).
The question is if the trade off is worth it (optimizing for Garnacho output vs team output).

he is quick, he just does not know how or where to run when running into goal, he mostly runs in straight lines which could be easy to deal with if you are not Mbappe or Davies, players like Salah or Son run diagonally and put themselves between the ball and player behind them and get the ball into their fav foot to shoot once they are close, he does not know how to do that.Thought he was shit. He's slower than I thought when running. Maybe he's better as a wingback just going up and down at normal speeds.
Genuinely I don't think he's quick. He's no quicker than most other wingers it seems. Gordon or Barnes for example at Newcastle look no slower than him - we don't need to get to discussions about Salah, Mbappe or Davies.he is quick, he just does not know how or where to run when running into goal, he mostly runs in straight lines which could be easy to deal with if you are not Mbappe or Davies, players like Salah or Son run diagonally and put themselves between the ball and player behind them and get the ball into their fav foot to shoot once they are close, he does not know how to do that.
He's a poor passer, not particularly strong and not good off the ball. All of which make him a poor wingback. See how much Amad had to link up and defend - it's a very demanding role.In the 3-4-3 system I think he’s far more suited to the wingback role than the #10. He doesn’t have the technique, vision or passing to be an effective #10.

He tried tbf, but (as is common with him atm) at the wrong moment. Defender easily blocked it.Greedy player. Could have put Rashford in for his 2nd
Obviously. But he is terrible defending and that why Amad and Garnacho played in their respective roles today. I don't see any other explanation. In the 3-4-3 system I think he’s far more suited to the wingback role than the #10. He doesn’t have the technique, vision or passing to be an effective #10.
I hope that you're right of course, but I dont really see it - there's no good position for him in the system imo.I thought he was decent. It's a completely new system and position for him. He will thrive under Amorim I am sure.
