Nope sorry mate, you should have at least made 40 posts and you should be 90's kid.

erm... I think there is room for 1 more.

90's kid?
I am on here every day i just dont post cos there's no point in arguing with idiots

Well if you can be regular and are familiar with the rules and process, you can go ahead and pick two players right now, and then after that you will pick when your turn comes in the order.

But please be sure before making the commitment, as it would be disappointing to lose players if you pick them and then don't show up. We almost lost Batigol like that!

Nedved peak was 2000's but I guess it does not matter. Good pick nevertheless.

Great picks so far mates, I thought I would sneak with Dessaily.

Yep. Nedved was at his best for Juve, but he was brilliant for Lazio as well. That Lazio team challenged all the big guns due to players like Nesta and Nedved, who then rightly moved to bigger clubs.

Agreed. Nedved, of course, peaked in the 2000's, but his time before that he already stamped his mark as a brilliant player. That's why Juventus bought him to replace one of their best player.

I'm only new the drafts on the Caf (have been involved in some on other forums) but is this process going painfully slow for everyone else?

All of the picks so far have been excellent and I don't think there has been a pick yet that nobody would want in their XI, but the lack of progress is starting to take the fun out of it, I find. We'll be lucky to have our full XIs by this time two weeks at this rate of going!

It's usually like that mate. If we decrease the 12 hour time, it would be too less for someone who is asleep or busy otherwise. The best option is to PM the picks when you are leaving. I am usually online so if anyone has to drop their picks, please do.

The 12 hour window is essential for it running it smoothly and fairly alright, I agree with that. Maybe the "PM your picks to somebody else if you're going to be out all day" idea isn't a bad one.

Don't mind me half the time though, I'm just an inpatient bastard! :D

I don't mind nominating myself to be PM'd picks in advance as a neutral. I was supposed to be in this originally and by the looks of things am still following the thread, plus I'm on all waking hours

There's surprisingly few top class combative/defensive midfielders so that's where Davids really stands out, whereas there's still plenty of great attacking midfielders to choose from instead of Zidane/Rui Costa...it's just so hard to say no to a player like that! Can't decide whether to get a top defensive midfielder while I still can or go for one of the truly great defenders.

I think we can make it 6 hours limit, if you can't be here every now and than when your turn gets closer you should be responsible enough to PM someone your picks, and if you aren't, your problem and you will be skipped.

There are plenty attacking players, but the best ones could go fast if anyone start picking them. I agree that there won't be enough good combative DMs for all contestants; but it's also hard NOT to pick defender legends that also not many around.

Agreed. Usually, if one can't pick in 6 hours, they wouldn't be able to pick in 12 hrs. On the last draft, we did 6 hr limit. But, it's Aldo's call as he 'owns' this thread.

I agree and I think that while the 6 hour rule is the tiniest bit unfair on those who live on the other side of the world and will be sleeping at peak hours, it's not so difficult to PM 5 or 6 options to someone in advance. IMO.

Agreed. If you can't readily call on five or six possible players, you have no business being in the draft in the first. Especially at this early stage of the drafting process.

Unless you're on another 10 turns, usually, one only need to PM his/her 2 options (3 max).

6 hours limit?
I will be working/sleeping when you guys are playing and so won't be able to follow. But yeah, I will try to pm my picks.

Davids was crap in 90's. Maybe 1 good season with Juve.
and

I will keep my mouth shut.

Sshhh..! He played regularly with Juve, so he shouldn't be that 'bad'.

EDIT: Just found this about fans though about the 90's Davids:

We did that before on the Nationality draft?

Yes, and I had missed one turn.
It's okay I will try to follow, no problem with 6hours.

and yeah crap was overstatement but he was legend of 2000's. Good pick considering the draft's picking rule and voter perception.

Hi sorry I was at Kasabian and Noel Gallagher, I'll pick Didier Deschamps.

Also sorry for the double post but I'm a bit of a night owl so I could be on at odd times :)

My second pick is Cannavaro "The Berlin Wall". Though he won World player of the year the decade after, he was a force to be reckoned with in the late nineties picking up 2 coppa italias, 1 supercoppa Italiana and a UEFA cup.

Cannavaro was sold to Parma in the summer of 1995 and in his first season, he was instantly a regular in the first team, scoring once in 29 appearances in the league.

As from 1997, he began to earn call-ups to the national team's senior squad and was consistently one of the best defenders in Serie A, which led to a €23 million transfer to Internazionale in 2002, following over 250 total appearances for the club with five goals.

I don't think we have had to wait for even 6 hours for a pick so far have we? So reducing it from 12 to 6 might not change things a lot since 2-3 hours is the usual gap between picks. We did the 6 hours gap in the draft before the Nationality one and it was okay. However many people found it difficult to follow that in the Nationality Draft so we reverted back to 12 hours. If everyone is alright with 6 hours now, we can change it to that.

Regardless, one should not forget to PM the picks before leaving.

Was Cannavaro that good at 90s? Think his peak was deffenetly 2000s

Yeah he definitely peaked in the 00's but was still a fantastic defender in the 90's which took him to the age of 26, appearing over 250 times for parma/napoli and impressing for his national team.

Through that time he won two consecutive European Under-21 Championship titles in 1994 and 1996; made his full international debut in '97 and went to his first world cup in '98 (got knocked out on pens by the eventual winners.)

Was he a starter for Italy in that WC? Anyway I really like Cannavaro but feel you could've had a better defender at that time.
