Participants use their chosen picks to form a team which competes (hypothetically, of course) against another's chosen team, and posters vote on who they think would win this hypothetical match.

Sixteen players gives eight first-round games, four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and a final.
 
Please take out that post Di Canio. You have to ask AldoRaine if there's still a place for you. Thanks.

Sadly we filled up all the places. There was a time when we were short of participants. In any case, do stick around, as we never know when someone might get promoted or think he is not motivated enough.

Ok so I see it's my turn, I pick the magnificent Roberto Donadoni.
Was brilliant for Milan between 90-96 and again 98-99.. Can play the AM or at right wing.
 
Or left wing, or either wing back. You bastard. I thought he'd sneak through to the third round. Great player. Although his peak was surely 88-93 or so. MOTM against Madrid in that 5-0 win.

Crossed fingers through the entire second round he'll get to me. So many options with him like you pointed out.. By the way, 88-93 is mainly 90s :D

Fergus son? How good was Zanetti in his 5 early years in Inter in the 90s? Thought he wasn't that brilliant at the 90s, maybe I'm wrong..
 
Zanetti and Simeone are also excellent picks. So many quality players up for grabs.

Zanetti is one my favorite players who isn't an United player, but from my memory Zanetti peaked after a few good years in Inter and not right ahead. He was a great player but not as amazing as the 2000s Zanetti..

I might be wrong but from memory Zanetti was as solid as ever back then. Regular for Argentina in the 90's. He's a top pick due to his versatility as well.

Excellent. His consistency throughout his career is what people remember him for. He won the Uefa cup in 1998 and scored in the final and was made club captain soon after, he made a terrific impression in his early years and was a true class act by 98' at the latest.

The quality was unbelieveable. From 1988-89 to 1998 there was always an Italian team in the European cup final, bar one season. Such was the strength of the league in that era.
 
If Paolo wants to take my place, some stuff has come up and I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute, if he doesn't I'll stick it out and do my best but the offer is there :)
 
So, Aldo. Paolo said he would take dhm91 place. Does it mean he continue with dhm91 players, or he go pick two new players?

If he make new 2 picks, what happened to Baresi and Deschamp?
