The fairest way to do it is to
1. set the constraint of the next World cup (i.e. Have to be in Asia, stadium requirements, must not be hosting another one recently, etc)
2. Open the offering to every nation who ticks the box
3. Draw them fairly
4. Set the rules that if a continent host it, they're locked for the next 2 WC
 
They may actually kill football. We kind of joke about it, but it really does look like they are trying to establish some sort of European Super League that includes Saudi clubs. If Manchester United joins that league, I'm done.
 
No problem with the US hosting the World Cup, despite that nation's record on human rights. A Muslim country? No, that's a step too far. Hmmmm...

If this was taking place next year then no chance but this is 10 years down the line and I think we’re going to see a different SA by then, this is all part of cleaning up their image.

2030 we’ll have Europe and Africa joint - tick

gives fifa the perfect opportunity to take the money from an oil rich state.

stinks of bribes yet again.
 
400+ workers died in Indonesia in one month the last time we held an Election (caused by illness and accident when transporting the ballots)

I wasn't surprised by the thousands of death tolls in Qatar when they built the stadiums for years

I think they've (The ruling party) gone off football since the mid 2000s, they most likely don't see the need to sportswash nor spend billions on new stadiums.

It's worse than that.

2026 is CONCACAF, so that ruled them out until at least 2038.

2030 is awarded to a joint UEFA and CAF bid, which rules them out until at least 2042.

But wait, FIFA decide to shoehorn three games in CONMEBOL into the tournament, despite not being part of the bid, which also rules them out until 2042.

This means the hosts for 2034 have to be either AFC or O.F.C.

FIFA then bring the bidding process for 2034 forward by three years, and give interested hosts just 26 days to declare their bids.

FIFA also (despite the now expanded format) reduce the number of existing stadiums that meet certain standards required in a bid to four (when it used to be seven).
 
This might be idealistic but I'd like to see nations breakaway from Fifa, especially the big footballing countries.

If England, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Brazil, Argentina decided to form a new football federation they could undermine Fifa and hopefully form something with less corruption.

Fifa can have it's oil state world cup with the final between Saudi Arabia and Qatar for aristocrats to enjoy and football fans can have a France v Brazil final to enjoy.

Too much money in FIFA for these big nations to do it. And honestly if all the big nations decided to do that, the underdogs romance of the world cup will disappear (think Japan, S.Korea, Croatia and Morocco), unless they can pull majority of nations with them to the new federation. Tall order

Yeah the new MO for China and their state owned construction companies seem to be to build infra outside of China. They'll almost certainly be involved in the projects in Saudi Arabia for this

You'll be sorely disappointed to find out that many of those federations aren't exactly beacons of transparency and good governance. And what is there to gain for a country like Argentina to pull out? They get excellent treatment from FIFA and have absolutely no reason to complain.

What’s really rotten here is that FIFA are clearly flogging the tournament to wherever the biggest trough is. Look up Infantino’s bonus for the Qatar WC.

FIFA can feck off, they’re selling the soul of the WC for personal gain.

I'm less interested in who hosts it than I am having to interrupt league seasons to assuage the self-esteem of whichever developing country bribes their way to hosting it in the winter. If they're going to start auctioning WCs then at least make sure whoever gets it has the resources to play in summer.

How come? I’m against a Saudi WC but given my country‘s (UK) effective endorsement of what’s happening in Palestine, I‘m going to struggle to take seriously the 2034 England NT equivalent of Harry Kane or Jordan Henderson threatening to wear rainbow wristbands. Being slaughtered like fish in a barrel by state of the art weaponry is to me more serious than facing legal discrimination due to gender or sexual orientation (however unpleasant the latter).

People haven't really complained about Turkey hosting or potentially hosting.

Nobody has said anything about part of the world cup being in Morocco.
 
They should host it across smaller nations that never have and never will (in the near future) qualify for a World Cup. I’m thinking Singapore and HongKong.

What about Morocco? No one seems to have a problem with them hosting 2030.

Have you considered the criticism of Saudi hosting a World Cup isn't because they're Muslim, but because their Royal family and Government are a bunch of cnuts?

Not to mention that most of the stadiums and infrastructure will be built using migrant workers no doubt in appalling conditions just like Qatar.

I'll start by saying that I fully disagree with the foreign policy of many governments that is allowing/condoning the current genocide of Palestinian people.

Back to the location of the World Cup, where domestic policy matters, hosting a world cup in a place where over 50% of people do not have basic human rights and where it is illegal/life-threatening to be non-straight, is abhorrent. A "World Cup" should not be allowed to occur in a country where this is the case.

We’re in agreement I think. I certainly don’t support a Saudi WC. It’s just the radio silence over what’s happening at the moment jars a bit next time we assume the moral high ground. And, ultimately, being a woman or a gay man in Saudi Arabia (and I did know some gay men when I worked there briefly) is paradise compared to living in Gaza or even the West Bank. Basically, don’t flaunt it and no one cares. Not perfect but better than try to live your life and then the IDF or some religious lunatic settler shoots you.
