Why would Australia bid again after spending a fortune on their last bid and only later finding out that the cash spent should have been in a brown paper bag? Allegedly.
 
Better for kick off times for those in Europe. Australia would be a nightmare.

Isn't just enjoying football better than drowning yourself? There can't be double standards when boycotting a nation and all we are doing here is selective boycotting. Why can't we boycott them on every level?
 
We should tell the oil rich countries that they have to pay off the fans too.

I would imagine horsechoker from redcafe doesn’t control what country his government does business with, and in the case of things like fuel it’s literally something that you can’t live without and no government suddenly comes up with an alternative country they can source fuel from so there’s no real double standard here is there?

The global economy is, unfortunately, dependent on Saudi oil, and so boycotting it isn’t a realistic option, especially as most other fossil fuel exporters are just as bad or worse. But it’s frankly daft to say that just because we buy their oil we should be happy when they buy up and corrupt football and other parts of our culture. The global economy wouldn’t collapse if FIFA was less corrupt and stopped giving these countries World Cups in exchange for shed loads of cash in brown envelopes.
 
Aussies are hosting the 2027 Rugby WC and the 2032 Olympics. A lot of infrastructure already gonna be in place. . More white elephant stadia with Saudi not to mention more immigrant deaths buliding them

Should just annouce they're permenantly hosting it the Middle East and cut out all the pretenese. It's a fecking joke. Surprised FIFA have annoucned they're upping sticks and moving their HQ to the Middle East.
 
A friend of mine served in the Royal Air Force during the saddam war in the early 90s and was stationed in Saudi for a bit before they went they were told they was going to defend democracy against a tyrant. One of the main attractions for locals after Friday prayers was when some poor unfortunate was dragged in the square and publicly beheaded which lead my friend to think who’s the tyrant and where’s the fecking democracy

I don't know if they could get away with doing that as Europe and South America would kick up a fuss. I can't imagine the big European and South American countries accepting the world cup permanently in the Middle-East. If they all removed themselves from FIFA, suddenly the world cup is just an average tournament.

If we gathered all european ultras do you reckon we'd have a chance of invading Switzerland (there must be more ultras than swiss people for sure)? If we did we'd have a chance of ending this nonsense and the destruction of our game.

I don't mind it at all. I'm actually surprised to see some are still bothered by such things.
 
USA leveled Iraq and Afghanistan but its okey for them to host WC.
SA is maybe shitty country too live but no one is forcing you to go there.

I suppose a good reason is that the effective head of state had a journalist executed in a office in Turkey. Human rights violations coming out the ears. Foreign workers are often treated as modern day slaves, with no real rights and accusations of kidnapping, wage theft, imprisonment, rape etc are very common. A practice of the death penalty that at worst belongs in the middle ages, and at best gives the more right leaning Americans a stiffy. Torture in Saudi prisons is a regular occurence. There is no real free speech, being critical of the government can give you decades in prison, a completely archaic matrimonal society where only men can be legal guardians, effectively treating women as cattle.

I dont know, its not a place that outright deserves to host the most popular sporting event on the planet on its surface.
 
Saudi Arabia is the sole reason I believe a Super League will eventually be formed
