2024 U.S. Elections | Trump v Harris

A lot of people, not neccessarily here, we're outraged when Harris said it, that's all, even if it's just an accurate statement in my mind.

Yes, but it had nothing to do with the conversation. Do you usually just say things you think are accurate, no matter if it fits or not?

Say, for instance, that you believe that the alleged Trump golden shower tape is not real, that it was a rumor made up for either money or political gain. You could then, like you did, insert it everywhere.

"Can you give me an example of Trump breaking the law?" "Well, they make up lies about him, like the pee thing"

"Can you give me an example of Trump being racist?" "They lie about trump, just look at Steele".

That would be dumb, because the topics here are obviously Trump's alleged actions in the criminal cases, and documented statements about various groups, and whether or not they reach the threshold of criminality or racism. A rumor about urination has nothing to do with any of that, so it would either be a piss poor attempt at defending Trump or just someone saying it to say it.

Your reply is even stranger, because at least the people claiming that Trump likes to be peed on are likely to be on the same side of the people claiming he's a racist and a criminal.

Honestly, I was all doom and gloom and then was forced to disconnect from news/polls/etc/ for a few weeks due to a health scare and getting out of that doom vortex for a bit provided a bit of clarity. Should we be worried and stay engaged? Absolutely, but I just don't feel nearly as worried as I did in 2020, or even a month ago.
Why is that? I am so depressed at seeing that corrupt narcissist back in office.

Tine to head for a cabin miles away from an internet connection for the next seven days. Or years.

What it very strange is you saying that she had made "fecking disgusting" statements, yet rather than finding any of these "fecking disgusting" statement, you give me a six sentence diatribe about me shifting goalposts?
Ok firstly.

I don't know if English is not your first language, or something is getting lost in translation, or my communication skills are poor but it is certainly the case that trying to engage you in even very simple exchanges is extremely arduous and unproductive.

Now I take my share of the blame in our shared dialogues. Maybe those are all my fault. However I see a similar pattern of incoherence when you argue with other people. An incoherence which I detailed in the post you quoted.

All this to explain why I might be somewhat reluctant to dive into another spiralling set-to with you, as you make increasingly unhinged demands for examples, examples examples!

Especially when you have multiple cheerleading weirdos, who are on standby to snipe little snide endorsements whenever you respond:
Calling fascists, yes, fascists, is apparently disgusting

I don't need a pen pal.

"fecking disgusting" statements, "fecking disgusting" statement
Just tell me these "fecking disgusting" statements that you speak of? As the one that @Iker Quesadillas posted does not nearly reach that threshold, especially when she spent the majority of that video sympathising with the plight of the Palestinians. Nor was that example her in any way ranking one monstority above another.

Find the quotes. It's not difficult, is it?
With that out of the way. Let's keep this as simple as possible.

Here is Kamala non sequituring a genocide; balancing bloody rape, starvation and mass murder against groceries.

I thought this was "fecking disgusting". I was fecking disgusted when I heard this.

Here is Kamala engaging in a heirarchy of tragedy of suffering; a dehumanising statement. Whether it reached your threshold or not is not what you asked for.

I thought this was "fecking disgusting". I was fecking disgusted when I heard this.

We all know this one. An aggressive and entitled shutting down of people protesting women and children being exterminated. And suggesting if legitimate protest against a genocide is wanting Donald Trump to win.

I thought this was "fecking disgusting". I was fecking disgusted when I heard this.

These are my own responses, I'm hoping we are not going to string out a debate on whether I really did feel this way. However the expression of disgust for these statements can be found in many other people who are not me, from journalists and commentators and voters.

Nope, I plan to set up shop in this thread next Tuesday and not leave till sometime on Wed/Thur depending on the ratio of caffeine/alcohol intake...... and access to a phone charger.

Kamala Harris again being fecking disgusting, according to my personal limbic system response:

A discussion of Kamala repeating atrocity propoganda and clearly upsetting, at least to a certain degree, these 4 people. Did they feel that Kamala was being "fecking disgusting"? I don't know, I can't mind read their exact emotional response like some thought-policing stalker.

Anyone who genuinely thinks there is an equivalence between Harris/Democrats and Trump/MAGA Republicans to the point where they are as bad as each other is simply delusional. You don't have to think that Harris/Dems are brilliant and wrong about many things, or that the US political system is rubbish, but thinking they are the same it is the equivalent of treating a paper cut and beheading as the same thing.

There is no issue, Gaza and the Middle East in particular, where Trump wouldn't be far worse than Harris. The idea that anyone would vote for Trump "because Gaza" is amazing. He would be siding with an Israeli hardman leader in 30 seconds after he was flattered by them.

It's not complicated.....

You said Harris has made "fecking disgusting" comments about Gaza.

I asked for an example.

You can't given any, so instead you go on, on, on about my "incoherence" or "unhinged demands".

Just find these quotes from her, because to me, you seem like you are dancing round the core of the issue, as you know you aint got any quotes that back your accusation.

I’m also mad about this issue. In particular the pro Israel bias in the media.

These clips do look bad, they come across as insensitive, but what actually is Kamala‘s policy position on Isreal/Palestine? Harris wants a two state solution while Trump detests Palestinians and wants Netanyahu to finish them off quickly.

Taking a strong stance against Israel now is suicide.

If you feel "fecking disgusted" by any of these comments, then i think your outrage meter has been configured to the lowest of settings.

But each to their own.

I get what he‘s upset about, but indeed MAGA stuff is something else

She has made far more sympathetic comments towards The Palestinians and the horrors that have taken place in Gaza than anything that can be misconstrued as being insensitive.

Those are not allowed to be mentioned though. You are only allowed to try and beat her down by taking certain words and misinterpreting the meaning and ignoring the context of how it was said.

And you are not allowed to bring up Trump as you will be accused of "whataboutism".
Just ignore the fact that he told Bibi to "finish the job" and "Do what you have to do".

I honestly dont.

To Anderson Cooper in the town hall - the pivot away from Gaza back to Trump wasn't great, but really, was it "fecking disgusting".
Nor was she saying that Oct 7 was in any way more important or more horrific than that the Palestinians had suffered. In that one two min clip she expressed more sympathy towards Gaza than the entire GOP have over the last year.

As you say, the MAGA stuff is something else. And that is the greater context that any comments should be taken in. People are nit picking slip of the tongues, or lambasting Harris for not saying something in the most eloquent of ways, when you have Trump as your other option who would love to build Trump Gaza Resort and Golf Course. Maybe he may even get some more settlements named after him?

100%.

75k people turned out for Harris's speech at the Ellipse, they planned for 20k.

There does seem to be an undercurrent going on with this campaign. 2012 redux?

To be fair, that was dumb from Biden. He just handed them the opportunity to steal the headline. They will be sure to make the most of it, ala «deplorables» in 2016.

It probably won’t matter since a lot of people have already voted at this point. The only issue that is capable of affecting the election are the Puerto Rico comments , since there are so many expats who live in various swing states.
