When Trump dies I don't see how the American right recovers. He is the only thing keeping them relevant. For all the hype it's quite alarming to see DeSantis so far behind him in the polling.

At least USSR sort of stood for something, bad as it mostly was, so i understand why many supported them in the past, but when it comes to modern-day Russia, they have nothing left to offer.

It’s also one of the reasons progressives are struggling to gain national traction in the US. The soft power they gain by a few promising domestic policies is instantly obliterated by their calamitously naive foreign policy that would weaken the very country they represent, and in the process tilt the global balance of power from democraty to authoritarianism.

That clip is not nearly as bad as the description makes out. Basically just says that the U.S. should be able to be a leader abroad, while also fixing problems at home. I mean, it's a bit meaningless without any more specific plans, but it's not like he is abandoning domestic policy.

They are mostly older people who don't have to concern themselves personally with these things anymore.
Republican voters, by and large, typically don't care about something until it affects them personally, that goes for a large number of issues.
